I have to hand it to Demetri - he runs a great bike shop in the Portland area, devoid of the typical snobbery and elitist attitudes that seem to prevail in some of the other talked-about locations. As a college graduation present to myself, I decided to invest in a higher-end bicycle (I had previously spent no more than $200 on a bike), despite having not ridden consistently for several years and being severely behind the curve in terms of knowledge, skillset, and experience. Demetri treated me like I was buying the most expensive bike in the place, even though my budget was closer to $1000. The fit was done for me perfectly, and I selected a Masi Speciale CX (which Demetri had a hand in the design). That was the 2008 model. I love every minute I ride on this bike, and still do two years after the purchase. They have serviced it twice since then, and gave me a year trial period of parts/service at no charge. I have been a vocal proponent of Veloce and their hands-on service since that time, and intend to fully support his shop going forward (Im hoping to get my wife on a Masi as well, as weve got the baby trailer now and I cant be expected to pull it all the time!). As can be the case, some of the support staff can range from good to aloof - but the heart and soul of the place really comes from Demetri and his skills at handling problems and customer service. I definitely recommend this shop.

Yeotl Went in there to get a head set bearing changed. The guy touched my chain tension which brought attention to old chain and cassette chain rings. Had to redo my whole drive train due to its old age and wear and tear. They was trying to help but my bike was making more complications than solutions due to ruining my cassette from running old chain old cassette. I took bike in and found rookie errors in my buddies shop he called it lol. Voloce, made up for it ,tuning up my bike, trueing my rims ect. I had to still take links out to make fit chain traction performance occur. But they are awesome listened to me and I always talk allot when Im stressed especially around new people. Love these guys. They do the best to make you not lose your happiness high of biking. Im Aztec dancer Beaverton. Bikes like new Socialized Made in USA Stump Jumper 95 ,I say if my Azteca Danza family out there needs a repair on a jiffy,I certify this a engine mechanic with Honor, Loyalty and Love.

The people there are nice enough (which is why they get two stars instead of one), but not competent apparently. I had a recurring flat and brought the bike in to them twice, and both times when I described how the problem kept happening, they just shrugged and put in a new tube without trying to figure out what was going wrong. On top of that, neither of the two guys who changed out the tubes preinflated them--they just shoved the tube in after the tire was half on and inflated it from there, which may well have been a contributing factor to my next two flats. Just got everything taken care of down the street at Joe Bike, and the guy there took a lot more time and did a really thorough job, talked to me about the problem, and all that. It even ended up costing less at Joe Bike than at Veloce!

I recently was in Portland and rented a Masi road bike from these guys. They had it on hold for me when I got to the shop and it was clean and properly tuned. Took about 15 minutes in and out to get the bike. They even offered to change out the stem and make adjustments to the bike for fitting. I was thoroughly impressed. I brought my own shoes / helmet / bike clothes to OR. They put on the pedals and I was ready to go. I rode the bike for 2 days (3 day rental was $80). No issues. It even had a bag under the seat w/ CO2 cartridges. The only thing it didnt have was a computer, which would have been nice. I highly recommend this shop.

The Veloce staff love bicycle lifestyle and do what they love as it shows in the products, service and ideas they provide to customers for the best cycling experience and maintenance of their bicycles. It is amazing how most bicycle maintenance or service can be done same day while you wait or next day unlike other bicycle shops who are booked out two weeks to a month. Their professionalism and attention to detail and knowledge of the bicycle industry have earned them a following of many cycling enthusiasts locally as well as Travelers. Follow your bliss and safe travels sharing the road.

Demitri built two of my bikes and I would happily have him build me a couple more. After he sold Veloce, I figured I give the new owner a chance and ordered some Sykes fenders for a new ride. Long story short, the owner ordered the wrong set and didnt seem to care that hed wasted both Paul Sykes and my time. After contacting Paul directly, Paul took care of me, installed them himself at his shop and took pride in his work. I wish I could say the same for Veloce. Stay far away from this place!

Great Service and Friendly. While traveling in Portland on business, I arranged a bike rental. The shop was closed on a Tuesday when I got off the plane. The owner accommodated me by opening the shop so I can pick up a rental bike for 3 days of great riding in PDX. I would recommend this shop to anyone traveling in the area for a great bike rental. The bike I rented was a MASI and I place 6th place in a local crit on it. The shop atmosphere has an old school bike shop feel with modern equipment.

I am a 47 year old woman and recently purchased a new road bike at Veloce. I have been extremely pleased with the personal attention I received both before and after the purchase. The fitting process was thorough and very professional. I was somewhat intimidated by rude staff when I tried several bikes at a very popular shop west of Portland. The staff at Veloce treated me as a valued customer, answered my endless questions, and helped me find a bike I really love.

Do not use these guys for repairs. Indeed, there are enough cycle shops within a few miles that you do not need to use this store at all. While they did a competent job on replacing a broken spoke, they lost my rather nice skewer. I followed up repeatedly but, in spite of their promises, never made good. My issue is not that they lost the part, hey, that happens, but that they failed to follow up on promises to replace it. So, I no longer use this store.

Super friendly and helpful guys. Great inventory for such a small space. My girlfriend and I are just visiting Portland and I am looking for a inexpensive and fairly beat up used bike. They carry new bicycles and gorgeous high end used ones but the owner was more than happy to write me a list of other shops that would carry bikes more like what I was looking for. Would absolutely do business with them if I lived in Portland. Very pleasant experience!
