I cant say enough good about the helpfulness and honest work done at the Olympia Bike Tech shop. I bought a new car and was sure I would have to buy a different bike rack to fit it, so I went to Bike Tech, Olympia. I explained my concern, and expected to have to get my wallet out right away. But instead of rushing to make a sale, the first tech I worked with came out to my car, took my snarled up rack, and attached it to the back of my new car. Presto. No sale, but a happy future customer. I then could bring in my old Schwinn for new handlebars, etc. and an annual check-up. Again. Another tech took his time and said, "You know, I think we can just adapt the vertical bar, add a tilting feature, and use your old handlebars, which are in good shape (they were just an awkward reach for my aging body)." Presto. Less $, but a lovely solution. The parts were ordered and my bike was ready in under a week. Again, the people I worked with were friendly and thoughtful, and again, they helped me by checking the fit of the new handlebars to me on the bike and by getting my bike up onto my rack. I could go on, but by now I hope you see the thoughtful quality of service that is given in this shop. M.F. Wright

Went into the Olympia Store for some very basic easy quick work. Pressing out some bearings. I would have done it myself but didnt have the tool on hand. We explained we were not from the area and that I was needing them removed as quickly as possible. The guys up front were very nice and were a pleasure to do business with. The Grump in the back with a beard not so much. He was rude and acting like we were putting him out with that little job. He pretending to act like the shop was busy and overloaded. I have spent plenty of time in bike shops. There is a way to do business and then there is a way NOT to do business. The shop was not busy. I presume he was the head mechanic or manager. Either way i guarantee he isnt holding onto repeat customers. I wont ever be back for anything no matter how small. Dont deal with bad bike shops people. There are plenty out there who will go the extra mile to gain your business over and over.

The Olympia Bike Tech store has terrible service. By service, I dont mean the sales staff. What I mean is the bike mechanic staff. I have used the Lakewood and Tacoma stores with no problem, but have had nothing but problems with the Oly shop. I took my brand new, in box, adventure bike to this shop for assembly. The charge was the same as a basic tune-up price. The repair shop failed to true the wheels properly. In fact, many spokes were still loose after the bike was ready". Also, the tires were installed backwards despite the arrows pointing towards the proper direction. The shop just said that it didnt matter on my bike. I also had the shop install a new rear rack for my saddle bag and a rear fender. After this install, the bike had an annoying clunking sound as I peddled in most gears. Take my advise, bring your bike to Performance Bike near Tacoma Mall. The price is nearly the same, but repair service is real.

Went in to look at Bikes, one of the mechanics was on the sales floor and was helping us find a bike. Even though he wasnt a sales associate he was able to answer every question we posed and could tell us about the construction, materials, etc of the bike. He was very honest and sincere. We didnt get the bike that day, but after comparing and shopping around we came back. Another associate helped us and was able to answer any questions we had about repairs and maintenance. Since my fiance had fallen in love with a bike, the guy knew he couldnt convince him to look elsewhere for a bike. He made sure it was appropriate for his height. It was such a great shopping experience. I will likely go back for my bike. :)

Not sure why some reviews are low. Ive been going to the Oly store for many years and always got excellent service - friendly, helpful and knowable staff. Weve bought several bikes over the years from them. All great bikes and staff helped steer us to the price range we were comfortable with. Here is the thing that impressed me the most - years ago when we brought in our old bikes for tune-ups, staff were honest about which one to fix up (old Bridgesone RB1) and which one to ditch (old Peugeot). They have fixed up & tuned up that 25+ year old RB1 for years now. No pressure to buy a new bike. So today I finally went in & bought a new bike from them. P.S. I was a Bike Stand devotee for many years previously.

This is my fourth bike from Bike Tech in Tacoma. Names have changed, but the service has been consistently good. I just had a new bike fit with Alex who is most knowledgeable and did a great job...best and most comprehensive fit Ive ever had. He gets a 5 star rating, which means you have to be exceptional in my book. Bike Tech is good about letting you test the bikes, and they have a 30 day return policy. They have a good range of bikes to suit most needs. Only problem I encountered with Bike Tech was in leaving a message with the Olympia store (couldnt get through to the after hours messaging for the Tacoma store), cancelling an appt., which never got passed on.

Purchased two bikes last October. Used gift certificate of $1000.00 for most of purchase, with about $250 more put on credit card. I get call later that the bike I purchased wont be ready until Jan. My request for loaner bike was denied. I find out today the bike now wont be ready until March. I asked for my money back so that I can go somewhere else, shop is refusing to do so. Looks like a police report will be necessary if I dont have my money back today. In my view this is theft because they took my money before telling me I would have to wait four, now six, months for the bike I purchased.

We have purchased 2 bikes from these guys in the last 2 months and they have been more than helpful , Dale and Brad got my wife set up with her first road bike and have taken great care and time making sure she is comfortable on her bike. I purchased a nice bike however not for riding the STP like my wife . I do have to say the bike I purchased is sweet and again Dale took great care making sure I had everything I needed and they had all my accessories installed and I was on my way the same day. These guys are fantastic if you are in the market for a great bike this is the place to go.

I entered the shop unsure of what I needed to fix my chain and rear derailer, as I asked what they could do using improper bike terminology the posey of 3 staff members had a laugh at me. I reiterated my questions and was met with condescending and rude responses, I expected one of the three employees to take initiative to against the rude nature. This was not the case, as they essentially mocked me and my knowledge of bikes as gang, I left the store and have told any of my biking freinds to avoid bike tech at all costs.
