Probably one of the worst costumer services experiences I have ever had. First of all, it took me two+ weeks to get an appointment for a routine service. I only came to this joke of a place after being given a "performance service plan" card by Performance Bike as a gift from a friend when I bought my road bike. The people, or "men" were not even friendly when I brought my bike in and told me I was suppose to drop it off several days before my actual appointment was, which was not mentioned to me on the phone when I made the appointment. I had also mentioned my break pads getting low but the guy who took my bike told me they looked totally fine and dont need to be replaced. Later that day I get a call from a different guy saying the lower bracket needs to be replaced and also the break pads....hmmm do you just want my money? I specifically asked them how much it would be to repair this bracket and pads and I was told 8 bucks each for the pads and 25 for the bracket TOTAL. I told them to go ahead and perform the services since it seemed like a decent price. But of course when I picked up the bike, there was a total charge of 98 bucks!!! $41 in parts and $58 in labor, seriously?!? Nothing about labor was mentioned, let alone being almost $60 dollars! I explained this to the guy and he didnt have anything to say but that "we could probably use some work on giving people better quotes." No discount or anything, besides what I got from this dumb performance card plan. And they definitely didnt help me outside with my bike! Youd think being a lady, they would at least do this after messing up. Nope.

This is an older review I should have posted earlier but Im reminded when I realize this is my LBS and I do not want to shop here. I went in to this shop to find wheel hardware for a wheel set I was building. The gentleman working the service area with a significant amount of attitude started to find the spokes and nipples (all stored off-shelf) that I inquired about. He could not be bothered to help count out what I was looking to purchase and walked away out of the blue (I still needed an invoice to bring to the counter since these are not price-tagged items). I asked another much friendlier employee if they could finish helping me out. Not a great experience, but I got what I was looking for. Later I realized we had miscounted by two spoke nipples so I returned to the shop and was flat out ignored by this same employee. Im a former mechanic of 10 years and I know things can get busy/frustrating so I patiently waited for him (~15 minutes of silence) but he instead attended to the next person to walk up, continuing to ignore me. Still not sure what I did to offend this guy beyond try to buy something (wish I had his name to share). Totally unacceptable, apathetic, borderline hostile service.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Ive been to this store many times since it opened and have always been disappointed with the service at this store, but my last interaction was the worst: We ordered tires from this store that were not in stock, when they came in, they were the wrong size. In the most condescending tone the mechanic, Peter, told me they were the right size (even though the numbers on the tires were off) and he said I probably dont know what Im doing, but he could install them and charge me $12.99ea. I knew he was wrong so I said OK (again, the tires were clearly the wrong size). Sure enough, I get a call that they were the wrong size (duh!). When we tried to exchange them for the correct ones, he gave us hell again. I understand mistakes happen. It wasnt the situation that made me upset, it was Peters horrible attitude. Seriously, you shouldnt be called a bike mechanic if you dont know how tire sizes work. I like the products and prices at performance, and I have had great experiences at the Beaverton location, but I will never come to this location again.

Today I called this shop three times about a small part. My first call was to confirm that the part was in stock. The person happily did a physical stock check. Perfect! Later my wife left to pick up the part, but our baby fell asleep in her car. I called them again to ask, "If I were to pay for the part over the telephone, could somebody take it out to my wife’s car?" I was politely informed that policy prohibited taking credit cards over the telephone (smart!), but the employee offered to make two trips to the car instead; one to get her card, and a second deliver the receipt and part. I called my wife to let her know the plan. Finally, I called Performance back to let them know she was there. This time a different person answered, but they figured everything out quickly, and she was on her way in just a couple of minutes. Wow! Way to overcome multiple obstacles, yet still find a way to help your customer! It could have gone wrong at any point, but each step was handled with style and grace. Im very impressed! Thanks!

Poor customer service. Went in to have a wheel checked to see if it was out of balance. Walked into service where there were 2 guys sitting down on computer not working on bikes. Barely acknowledged I was there. Told them what I needed. I was told that I could not drop anything off for repair until the end of week on Saturday. If I wanted to make an appointment I would have to wait at least 10 days. After driving up there from Salem not the service I expected. I drove to a local bike shop in Salem, what a difference, it took him 5 minutes to put my wheel on truing stand to tell me my wheel was fine. They also didnt even charge me. I have been a performance member for several years and a loyal customer. I will not be renewing my membership and will be making my biking purchases elsewhere.

I came in to see if I could get my bike repaired after work (around 7) and hadnt been in to that location for quite some time. I approached the front desk and was brushed off by 2 arrogant employees who barely acknowledged my presence. The one employee with the baseball cap and glasses responded, "Well we dont know whats wrong either..." and then pointed to the sign about scheduling. With that level of demeanor, I wont be spending a single penny there ever. Im a recreational biker that likes to hit the trails and streets 3 times a week. When you hire unprofessional trashy employees like this with no social skills, there are consequences. I will be seeking other shops for my biking needs.

I was treated so nicely the first time I came in, but that was the only time. After waiting three weeks for an item that was supposed to be there in a couple of days, getting blank looks when I came in to the store to check on the order (because they never called as promised) and absolutely HORRENDOUS treatment from the mechanic, PETER, who acted as if it was my fault that the wrong item came in, I will not be going back to this store. It would have been so nice to have a local Tualatin bike shop to take my bike for tune-ups and recommend to my biking friends, but I will continue to make the trip to Beaverton and make my purchases with the very nice people at Bike Gallery.
