Long story short we lost over $6000.00 in diamonds on a custom ring due to shotty workmanship. TWO STONES FELL OUT IN LESS THAN A SIX MONTH PERIOD FROM PURCHASE. Their suggestion was to come in once a month to have the ring checked. Once a month! Who does this? After the first stone came out my wife took her ring back a month and a half later for its "check up." The ring recieved a green light by the owner, Dennis Hess, only to lose the main stone a month and a half later. My wife wore her other rings for 15 to 20 years and never had a stone fall out, yet when I had a custom ring made for our 20 year anniversary using some of her favorite stones this is the nightmare she endured. She is beside herself. Their response to this was deplorable and cavalier. I have to agree with the critique below, it is as if they are not concerned with whether anyone buys their merchandise either. Dennis Hess suggestion to me? "I can sell you another stone for my cost plus 5%." When I shop diamonds I can get that pricing all day long, I certainly don not need to go to Hess Jewelers to purchase diamonds if Im looking for a deal. Keep that in mind too.

The backing fell off my wifes Omega watch 2 days after it was serviced by Hess Jewelers. The owner would take no responsibility. In fact, Mr. Hess said once the watch leaves his store, he is no longer responsible. In other words- he offers NO WARRANTY on his workmanship. In addition, he lied to me regarding its repair. He stated that his watch repairman had 40yrs experience, was certified and does not make mistakes. Thus, it must have been my wifes fault. I then discover, that it was Mr. Hess, not his repairman that serviced my wifes watch. He intentionally misled me. He went on to state that the watchs seals are compromised if it subjected to water. I spoke directly w Omega who completely refuted this claim. Mr. Hess shouldnt be surprised when he finds himself the Defendant in a small claims action filed in Warren County.

Stay away for anything watch related. I cant understand how they even stay in business. My watch was never the same after the "service" from this guy and his fake employee. but that was years ago. Took my sons watch I got him for Christmas to have a link taken out. I watched the owner work on the watch and he looked like he was struggling. Came back out and said all done and handed me a $15 bill. My son put the watch on and the clasp wouldnt close. He broke it but blamed it on me.....the watch was brand new and not broken. Finally got it fixed and now the link keeps breaking. 0-2

Walked in to get my battery changed on my favorite watch. Walked out with a broken watch and out $20. All I can say is WOW - what a waste - Mr. Hess also did this and I can tell you there is nothing wrong with the watch. He mumbled about watch seals comprised due to water corrosion - it has NEVER been near water, in fact I only wore it on special occasions. I directly confronted him about the condition of the watch prior vs the way he returned it to me, he mumbled, walked away and retuned my change. DO NOT GO HERE! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!

just wondering....insurance or not...the ring Mr. Higgins purchased 6 months ago still lost 2 stones. I have worn my engagement ring for 15 years without a single stone lost. Not having insurance does not speak for the shoddy workmanship from these jewelers. I find it interesting that the ony 5 star rating is from the owner. Buyer beware
