I chose Park Opticians for my first-ever eye exam and pair of glasses because it is convenient to my home and I have long admired the fanciful frames in their window display. The process of scheduling my appointment was pleasant and when I arrived on the appointed day, I was quickly helped back to the exam room. Dr. Fuldhauer performed a thorough examination and, with prompting, explained his findings to me. I would have appreciated some additional explanation and information, though, as I had never needed glasses previously. I did not receive a summary of his findings or a copy of my prescription, which would have been helpful. I almost felt as though this was to prevent me from having the glasses made elsewhere, which I had not intended to do, but it left me with a strange feeling nonetheless. I adjourned to the showroom and happily set about trying on frames. Their selection is truly top-notch and a large part of the reason I chose to come here. I was easily able to find a handful of frames that I loved - the hardest part was narrowing down the final choice. The woman who was assisting me in my selection did an admirable job of responding to my stated preferences, which I made rather clear. If I werent as certain of my likes and dislikes, however, the strong opinions she offered may have overpowered my thought process. I ended up choosing a classic, black pair of Valentino acetate frames (with a subtly edgy spike on the corner of the frames which I love) which were fitted to my face and set with my prescription in under 30 minutes. Nelson, the lovely gentleman who worked on this all-important final step really provided me with excellent service. I left with a pair of glasses that I absolutely love but with mixed feelings about the service I received. For the price point, I would have appreciated a more patient and attentive level of service.

Shopping for glasses and getting the lenses made can be such a painful experience. Kathy makes it easy and even kind of fun. But, when things go FUBAR, and with glasses they often do, you really want to be in her capable hands. She makes it clear that they dont make much money off of an individual pair of glasses. Its your return business shes looking for, and she will bend over backwards to make sure you leave happy - if - you treat her and her coworkers well. Shes also made it clear that if you are nasty to her, she doesnt want your business. Is that the best thing to say in a five star review of a business on yelp? Probably not. But if you are searching through the page reading reviews, and you come across someone who didnt leave happy, Im offering you a perspective on why that might be.

I am a life-long glasses wearer and have patronized several opticians throughout the years. My experience with Park Opticians was a negative one. The staff came across as rude and aggressive. I clearly heard the Sales Manager call a customer an "Idiot" after getting off the phone with them. All associates I came in contact with seemed unfamiliar with the idea of customer service; they were standoffish and cold. The eye doctor was lacking in bedside manner and was fairly impatient during the exam. I will not be returning to this optician.

Love the choices of frames. Service is very iffy. Both times felt like I was intruding rather than needing assistance. Takes awhile to get someone to engage in helping. Interior needs updated. Staff need trained.
