Traditions By Anna was the first place I tried on wedding dresses and it was a PERFECT experience for me. I wanted the fairy-talesque wedding dress experience with my mom and sister, and that is exactly what the staff at Traditions By Anna gave me. I was nervous about wedding dress shopping because quality dresses typically seem to be more expensive, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The first time I went, I fell in love with the very first dress I tried on, but knew that I had 3 other appointments and needed to shop around more. After all of my appointments at various bridal boutiques that same day, my sister and I came back to TBA to try "my" dress on again. It was just at closing time and the staff members were packing up for a bridal show for the following day. When we walked in, they told me that the dress had been packed up for the show tomorrow, but they would be happy to unpack it for me to try on again. Before I could even say anything, in walks Emily (the woman who helped me at TBA earlier that day) with the dress—she saw me walking in and knew what I was coming in for. They not once made me feel like I was inconveniencing them—I tried the dress on one more time, then left without buying it because I decided I needed to walk away to ensure this was the dress for me. Fast forward a couple of months later—I was looking online and noticed TBA was holding a trunk show for Romona Keveza (the dress I fell in love with is made by her). I tried to make a last minute appointment with them for the trunk show and they were pretty much booked, but they still managed to fit me in the morning of! My mom, sister, best friend and nieces came with me to try this dress on one more time. When I walked in, Emily (the awesome lady who helped me before) and Anna (Owner of TBA) were there and helped me try on a few other dresses before tried on the dress I came there for. I put on “the dress” and they “jacked me up” with a beautiful veil and belt and that was it! SOLD! They were patient, kind and beyond helpful each and every time I contacted them or visited their boutique-- Emily and Anna made our experience very special for my family and I. They worked the payment out with my mom, thoroughly explained how ordering and altering worked and we left not having one unanswered question. About 2-3 weeks after ordering, I received a nice handwritten thank you note (very nice touch) and another 2-3 weeks after that, I received my fabric swatches. Can’t say enough good things about Traditions! Looking forward to my dress coming in and working out alterations!

When shopping for my wedding dress this is one of the places I made an appointment at. When I made the appointment I told them my budget of $2500, which I understand is a "modest" budget by the standards of most bridal salons. When I went in for my appointment to try on dresses they asked me my budget again and when I said $2500, the consultant almost instantly lost interest, even though I had been in contact with her since I first made the appointment, it was as if they expected me to raise my budget or something. This is an upscale bridal salon, but when I said my budget she said, "Oh, well the dresses in that range are over there on that wall, you can go pick some out to try on." and then she walked away. I was shocked, thats the kind of treatment I expect from Davids Bridal, not an upscale salon. The other places I went helped me pick out dresses and took interest in my binder where I had pictures of the dresses I liked, here its like they couldnt care less. When I went through their rather small selection of dresses in my price range and got to the fitting room the consultant did not help me get any of the dresses on (again this was completely different than the other salons where the consultants helped me get each dress on and off) she did not clip the dresses in the back or anything. Overall the service was just poor and even if I had liked a dress there I probably wouldnt have bought it because I wouldnt have wanted to deal with the terrible service every time I came in. The dresses themselves were lacking compared to other dresses I tried at different salons in the same price range. They lacked the weight of other nice dresses and the materials themselves just did not feel as high of quality. The designs were just so-so, even in the higher price ranges, which I did look through just to see if perhaps more money would buy something I liked, but overall the dresses all seemed over priced for the quality.

I purchased a wedding dress from Traditions Bridal for $2,000. I was willing to pay this expense at a pricey, non-franchised vendor for an assurance of quality and customer service; that I truly thought I would be getting from Traditions Bridal and not other retailers. At the dress fitting, the zipper was sticking. I expressed my concern to the tailor at Traditions Bridal who positively assured me that it was fine and I would have no trouble with it on my wedding day. Having no experience in tailoring and her reminding me that she had tailored hundreds of wedding dresses; I accepted her professional judgment. Five days later, on my wedding day, the zipper sticks in the same place. Unfortunately, I was in very remote location at the top of the Smoky Mountains. My mother in-law was thankfully able to find needle and thread, and then literally sew me into the dress! Although, the day turned out perfectly; there was a needless stress and anxiety placed over the occasion, that could have been avoided. After receiving the run-around and un-returned phone calls from the owner for eight months, she finally told my husband that they do not guarantee their products or their work and that no part of the wedding dress price would be refunded. For me, part of the expense was for a calm and glitch-free wedding dress experience on that special day. I was very disappointed in their lack of empathy, crude, and unapologetic response to the situation. If you are looking for friendly customer care and service, after they have your money, then I would NOT choose Traditions Bridal!

Martha at Traditions sold me my gown, and she was perfect and a joy to work with. When it came to alterations though, I ran into some trouble. Maria, who does the alterations, is also perfect. However, the staff coordinating the alterations left so much to be desired. I was told I was not allowed to have alterations appointments on weekends, despite living nearly 3 hours from the shop and working a very intense job that does not allow time off. When I came to my second fitting, I overheard the staff readily made accommodations for another bride to have a Saturday fitting, and such an inconsistency in service was quite irritating. At that same fitting, the associate made negative comments to another bride about my dress while I was in it, remarking that "that train is certainly the craziest weve ever sold." I could not believe the lack of professionalism. Finally, at my third fitting, I had to wait over an hour for my appointment despite being timely myself, and a bride with an appointment behind mine was pulled in first. When I asked why, they told me just to wait a few more minutes rather than offering an explanation or consolation. Apparently the delay was due to a massive mistake made with another brides dress. Thankfully I was completely satisfied with my gown, but very dissatisfied with the service.
