M.A. Carr was a mixed experience at best. Of the six shops I visited in Buffalo this was the only one that made me feel terrible for being a bride. As soon as I walked in the building I noticed how beautiful the entry area of the shop was. I was called over to the front counter and I signed in. I looked through the opening area, as we werent allowed back to the dresses without an attendant. We took off our shoes and started to look around at the accessories. Fifteen minutes later we had an attendant come over with a profile sheet and asked what my budget was. When I responded with $1000 including alterations, she went back into the dress section to try to find dresses. Twenty minutes later she brought three dresses to the front, dropped them off, then called me back to a dressing room back in the Bridesmaid section. She then told me that many of their dresses started at $1000 and she was "seeing what she could do". The two dresses hanging there looked terrible and out-dated. One of the dresses was a bridesmaid dress that "they could order in ivory and look like a bridal dress." She then disappeared, leaving me to get into these dresses completely alone. I tried one on, realized it was the completely wrong size, and put my own clothes back on. I had to find her to tell her we were leaving. It is a beautiful store, but the fact that I couldnt look at dresses on my own and also the fact that she didnt bother to show me dresses costing $800-$1000 even though she mentioned that they had them made me feel like I was the un-invited guest at a tea party. Rather than making this day feel special, I left feeling depressed and that I wasted my time.

I cannot explain how much I loved my experience with MA Carr. I purchased my dress from them last yer for my wedding that was in November. They were amazing the entire time! I am originally from Buffalo but now live in NYC and they were great dealing with me being out of town. Any time I ever had any questions they always got back to me right away. They were great with letting me leave my dress there until I came back to town to get it. I also explained how I would not be able to make it back for all of the fittings so they guided me on what to look for when finding a seamstress in my area. I loved how everytime I went in the shop they treated me as if I were their only priority... not like some of the other stores in the area that wouldnt make an appointment for you and then when you would go in you couldnt get a dressing room because there were 15 other girls in there (Bridal Chateau). As for the girl who posted a review about her "knowing fashion" and being from Williamsville... get over yourself! I live in NYC and am surrounded by fashion everyday and I had no problem with their dress selection. Of course they are not offering custom made Vera Wang dresses but if you want a nice quality dress at a reasonable price they are definitely the place. I work in the bridal industry and have no problem recommending them to everyone I know!!

I just got married on 8/7/2010 and MA Carr was absolutely fantastic to deal with!!! The entire staff is professional and genuinely happy for you. Their goal is to assist you in picking out the best dress for you. Amanda did exactly that and picked out a dress that was PERFECT for me that I would never have plucked off the rack for myself. But it was an absolute hit, everyone loved the dress including me. I would recommend everyone to give MA Carr a chance without hesitation. Out of all the salons in the Buffalo region they def have more variety....a lot of the other salons have the same ol same ol ball gowns and thats it. MA Carr actually has variety. P.S. People have to realize that bridal salons are a medium between you and the manufacturer. They can not control how fast manufacturers make the dresses. Or the influx of orders during high wedding season. If you chose not to shell out a couple extra bucks to make sure your dress arrives in time, MA Carr cannot control that. In my case MaryAnn gave me the option to rush order my dress and told me that unfortunately rush is not something you can add on after your order has been placed. Piece of mind was worth a extra hundred bucks to me. And I have to disagree about MA Carr mis-advertising on their website. Every designer they said they carry they had at their store.

I had a fantastic experience selecting my wedding dress at M.A. Carr. They were professional, patient, and extremely kind. I had visited other bridal stores in the Buffalo area and by far had the best customer service at M.A. Carr. I had an idea of what type of dress I was looking for, and my consultant brought in so many options until I found the perfect one. She also encouraged me to try on different fabric and silhouettes so that I was sure. When I was deciding between two, she told me to sleep on it, and I was able to schedule another appointment for the next morning. I never once felt pressured to make a decision either during my first appointment, or when I came back the next morning. This was truly the perfect bridal gown experience. I suggest making an appointment so that you have a consultant who is dedicated to you, and only yo and you have the time to try on enough gowns. One thing I really appreciated is that the consultant asked whether I wanted her help getting into the dresses, or if I preferred to do it on my own. It showed a respect for the brides level of comfort with a stranger. The selection of gowns was great, and the professionalism of the staff was unmatched. I really felt they wanted to help me find the dress that I loved, even if it took a few appointments.

Im the matron of honor for my sisters wedding in June. I live in Massachusetts, so I had to send in my measurements. Im normally a size 0 or 2 depending where I go. They advised me based on my measurements (which I had done while I was pregnant, but I had the baby a month ago) to go with a size 6, then asked if I would be breast feeding, which I am, so then they told me to go with a size 8. I was really hesitant because that is so much bigger than I normally get. I was told that this designer runs small. Just picked up the dress yesterday and its like 4 sizes too big, I wouldve been fine in a size 2 most likely, maybe a 4 but definitely not an 8! So frustrated and annoyed, and theres nothing I can do, because in order to order your dress, you have to sign that you understand that they are not responsible for dresses that dont fit. I can understand, a few adjustments, but I need a whole new dress!! They dont care about the customer, they just want their money. I have no time to order a new dress, cause the wedding is in less than a month. Thankfully my gram is an excellent seamstress, and can hopefully work her magic, otherwise I wouldve been spending probably more than I paid for the dress in alterations. I will not be recommending this place to ANYONE!
