Please take time to read this. I pray that I save someone from the horrible experiences I had with this place. In September of 2015 I wanted to have a front fender accessory light put on my RoadKing Classic. I purchased the Harley part over the internet and brought it with me to have Charlotte HD install it. So, a seemingly simple job one would think. However, it proved to be nightmarish. When I went to pick the bike up I inspected the work. I immediately noticed that the light was installed right of center approximately 3/4 of an inch and was skewed, meaning it was not in line with the fender but on a left to right angle. Another customer was walking in and commented "nice bike". I asked him if he noticed anything wrong with the light that was installed. I just didnt want to feel like I was nit picking. The customer saw the problem immediately. He said "wow, what the hell is that all about"? So it wasnt just me. I told Jim in service that I could not accept it this way. Jim called the technician out who did the work and pointed the problem out. So they said "you can bring it back in and well fix it, it will take about two weeks". I chose to leave the bike since we were in early October now. They needed t remove the light, repair the holes that were drilled into the fender, repaint it, and re-install the light. They said it would require two weeks however, it took three days short of one month to complete the "two week" job. So I go to pick the bike up and Jim engages me in conversation. Now I know it was to try to divert my attention away from the bike. I went to look the bike over and I was just floored by what I saw. There were two (2)long (1 1/2 inches) scratches in the gas tank. My handlebars are low and if I were to drop the bike it would scratch the tank but it wasnt a problem with normal turns and riding. Jim was going to just allow me to take the bike off the property with the two huge scratches. At first Jim dummied up like he didnt know what I was talking about then he admitted that the technician had done it and even tried to put the blame on me for one of them. The goof in parts with the long beard tried to blame the problem on the handlebars claiming they "are too low and its just going to happen again". So I guess the handlebars were at fault and not the technician who dropped the bike. Its like saying it was the guns fault for shooting someone. What a moron! So now, they need to fix my gas tank. I have a custom paint job so I was worried about them matching the paint. Im lucky its black. So another three weeks go by, waiting for my bike all the while missing great riding weather So I finally get the call that its ready. I go to pick it up and I just couldnt believe it. They had to take the tank emblems off to paint it. When they put them back on they just eyeballed it. I guess they cant use a measuring tape, that would be asking too much. The left one is an inch and a half towards the rear relative t the right emblem. There is space between the tank ad the emblem so you can see right through it. At that point I was just exhausted with dealing with incompetence and wanted to just get my bike out of the hands of these guys before they screwed anything else up. I dont know where Im going to get my maintenance done now but Ill NEVER return to Charlotte Harley Davidson. Those guys can F### up an iron ball. If you have work done here, inspect it before you leave the grounds. They would have said it was my fault if I had not noticed it and driven off. The guy it parts with the long beard must have the IQ of a rock. I pray this helps at least one person avoid a nightmare. If you have any suggestions where to have good work done please post it. Thank you for taking time to read this. Its the first time I have ever written a review. Mark Sloan

First let me say that I have never written a review of a company in my life; in fact this is the first one, but I am compelled to do so after seeing a comment about Harley Davidson of Charlotte that does not represent the experience I’ve had with them. I am a long time customer of this dealership, in large part due to the extraordinary service I’ve received from their Service Department. On one occasion, in particular, my wife and I were on our way to a movie on my Road King one evening after 6:00pm when my bike just stopped on me. I was able to safely get to a parking lot but after several attempts I couldn’t get the bike to start. I knew that the Service Department at Harley Davidson of Charlotte was closed, but I took a chance and called in hopes of getting someone anyway. Luckily one of the service personnel was still there and answered the phone. I explained to him my situation, and he told me that he would grab one of the service trucks and come to my location and pick up my bike. Now keep in mind that this was after hours, and they were closed. He could have very easily told me that, and I would have been stuck with calling my AAA and having the bike towed. Instead, he took it upon himself to come to my recue on his on time and in addition, not charge me for the tow. The next day when I went to the dealership to check on my bike, they already had it on the rack and had identified the problem. I was so impressed with this service, I decided I would not let them fix my bike, instead I would trade it in on a new one; and so I did. This Service Department was instrumental in generating a new bike sale through their outstanding customer service and personal relationship efforts. I can tell you that my story is not a unique one for this Service Department. In talking with other customers, they have expressed the same sentiments as mind. Harley Davidson of Charlotte Service Department is the only place that I will ever get my bike serviced. Chester Lewis

Just a note about the service Ive received from the staff since my motorcycle accident. Monday I came in to purchase a headset for my helmet, and one of the parts stafl offered to help pick something out. He asked how I was doing since the accident, and then proceeded to take a good bit of time to not only share his own story with his Streetglide, but also to offer some advice and encouragement. I have definitely had some nervous moments since getting back on the bike, and I really appreciated that he took the time to talk about it, and give me some good riding pointers. He could have sold me a headset and sent me on my way, but he recognized that I needed some help, and treated me with great kindness and consideration. His caring attitude is reflected in all of your associates there. The folks in the service department have gone out of their way to try and make this rather miserable experience into a positive one. The service technician handling my situation took the time to explain to me in detail what they would be doing to rebuild the bike, even though he likely knew that I may not understand it all. He still wanted me to be informed. He also made some good suggestions on a few things to add on while the bike was torn apart and now Im really enjoying the Reinharts, and the chrome front fork looks great. Every one of the guys in service have been so kind throughout this. One service tech saw me out there messing with the radio trying to figure out the controls, dropped what he was doing and came over to show me how to work it. Ive never been treated like "just a customer" when I come into Harley Davidson of Charlotte, Ive always been made to feel that Im one of the most important people who walked through the door that day. But the last month and a half, it was even more so. There is no way to describe what it has meant to me to have the support and caring of those folks.
