This place used to be great. But three weeks ago (my 20th visit to this store) I met some new employees I havent seen there before, and I had a less than stellar experience (especially compared to my previous ones). I saw a decent deal on an used Xbox S Console there. They told me it was a 1 TB model. When I took it home (I live an hour away) it had the wrong power cord. I tried to return it (feeling buyers remorse - not their fault -except for my dissatisfaction about all the driving I needed to do and the fact my purchase was incorrect in the first place) but they unfriendly refused. Didnt seem remorseful at all for all the driving back and forth because they couldnt do their job right the first time. Furthermore, I asked them to test the console because they didnt get the correct power cord in their in the first place - I just wanted to make sure I didnt need a return trip - they were sulky and whiny about that BASIC customer service as well. SO, I take it home, turn it on - and, yay, it works - but the device has 1/2 the storage I was told when I bought it (500 GB vs 1 TB). Here are my suggestions for this store if they want to keep customers and avoid doing this again to anyone else: - Have your employees learn more - I asked them basic questions and specs on the used Xbox One S Console - not only did they tell me the wrong storage price - they did not have an answer to many of my basic questions. I knew more about the Xbox one and one s than them. I wouldnt mind as much - but lying or not checking proper specs (when they are important as storage space) is unacceptable. - Allow customers to return product. There is no reason to refuse a return one day afterwards so unkindly. At the very least, cite a return policy and dont treat a customer badly for wanting to do a return. - Give better customer service - if you do something wrong (and the customer is not just being picky) at the very least try to help them and make them feel better by giving friendly customer service. Fix the problem. Be professional. Be helpful or at least let the customer leave with an apology or at least some satisfaction that you care about their business and have accountability for your actions. This customer is not always right - but they are they reason your business exists. Treat them like they are that important. I want to give this store another chance. Do better next time.

Its a good store overall, but is lacking in service a bit. The reviews so far suggest great employees and such, but Ive yet to see any of them show positive emotion worthy of what is described in former reviews. Lets be honest, its a store for gamers, by gamers. Thatt said, the customer base isnt all that well off socially, and every time I watch someone ask a question, its always answered by either employee without a smile, and they seem bothered by every question. My questions meet the same reaction as the others as well. Dont get me wrong, some of the questions asked are ridulously dumb and some have a more obvious answers. and dealing with that can get annoying. I work at a restaurant and I get that. The facebook page is the worst. Very short and bare bones answers, all undercase. It sounds nit-picky, but it just doesnt seem right. Once you go in enough and the guy recognizes you it gets a bit better, but still the short and coldish answers remain. Besides the service that may vary for you personally, the store is great. Great selection, and a whole chunck of nostalgia. Im a huge advocate of emulating, but I found myself grabbing SNES games and controllers from the store to get the feel that you cant emulate. It isnt the best place for the NEWEST of the new, X1 and PS4, but everything before that has a good selection, especially as you go further back in time. No PC stuff to my knowledge, but it wouldnt be the best thing anyway. Theres a good MvC2 arcade in there as well, very nice. The store is eerily quiet as well, even since their old location on 28. There might be a version of smash bros running on the TV, but its sound is off or extremely low. Itd be nice to have some sort of background noise that isnt too quiet or too loud. All in all, its a great store with a MUCH needed tourney community. Once you get tired of smash they do have some Mario kart tourneys and some UMvC3, but no Street fighter so far. It could use some noise and a bit more smile and interest, but definitely a great store.

They do have a moderate selection of games and consoles, but by and large the biggest problem was that they didnt seem to take pride in any of it. Ive been to multiple retro game stores, ranging from trash holes to almost museum quality, which VGW falls somewhere in the center. The cartridges were dirty and only somewhat organized in their respective areas. Prices seemed to be a tad high on some things, but not overwhelmingly so. It may come off weird, but my biggest issue would be that they dont seen to respect the items theyre selling. There were multiple retro systems and peripherals on the floor to be stepped on, controllers stacked haphazardly on the shelfs, and Guitar Hero/Rock Band instruments just tossed aimlessly into a window alcove. When I go to these stores I guess I just expect that people love these old games and systems ad much as I do and care for them and I just didnt get that feel here. It certainly didnt inspire me to pull out my wallet for anything, and I didnt. Staff wasnt overly friendly, but Austin did ask if I needed help, they werent an issue. Good assortment of memorabilia and plushes if thats your thing. Pretty legit assortment of strategy guides, which was cool. Overall Id recommend a visit, just dont expect to be wowed.

The owner is rude and careless about your problems of the game system. I literally brought the game the day after I came in to return it because I was having issues with it , I spent $72 on the games and everything. I just wanted my money back . It was the very next day he tried to cheat me out of the money he did give me back witch was 50% out of 75 was 36 . He tried to give me less and say I didnt spend 75 when it was right there in his face . I JAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS STORE. FOR USED GAMES ITS OVERLY EXPENSIVE AND THEY REALLY TRY TO CHEAT YOU ALOT. GO TO THE POND SHOP INSTEAD IT BETTER AND CHEAP. THE GAMES ARW USED AND SUCK BOTH WAYS ):

This place is amazing. Tournaments every or every other weekend to win in store credit. All the old school consoles and games you could look for. Best part the staff knows there stuff, geek out with you over the products, and gives you fair trade in prices. You could sell a new game to gamestop and get maybe 2 dollars these guys will give you much more. I brought in an old game that I thought I would get 1 dollar for I got 3 so these guys are really good, know how to repair products, and there Facebook page is great for knowing what they just got in and they might even hold it for you for a couple of hours if you are at work. Love this place.
