Seldom shop here but when I do, seems I always end up disappointed. For example today - bought an apple fritter to eat in car on my drive home (my dirty little secret). Half way home & half way through the fritter, it dawns on me how bland and tasteless it is - why am I consuming these flavorless calories? So wrap it up to throw away. Oh well, Id also splurged on a little plate of sushi for when I got home. (Had considered the Chinese food in the buffet, but remembered the last time I got that from this Harris Teeter, ended up throwing it away cuz it was pretty awful.) Get home, put groceries away, settle myself down to nice sushi lunch, only to find that it kinda tasted like mildew... or was it just my imagination? Try a different bit of sushi, but no... thats decidedly the taste of something off and moldy. Yuck. Really annoyed. And mind you, I take pride in keeping my standards low so that I can drink any wine or coffee, eat any burger or potluck dish. So to consider food too bad to eat, well, thats something. And it burns me to have thrown away $12 on moldy sushi, but I also dont have the time nor inclination to take another 40 minutes to drive back, complain like the cranky old lady that I apparently am, and hope to get a refund. Grrr.

I sometimes go a little farther to shop at this Harris Teeter because of the freshness of the food on their buffet bars for lunch and dinner. They also have little sheets at self check-out for commonly purchased non-barcoded items to make it easier. Clean store.

I like Harris Teeter from its crazy expensive deli chicken salad and tiramisu Lol! Okay to pick up a few things, store is clean, staff helpful & energetic but the prices over other grocers are too high for my budget but one must splurge from time to time!!

I was able to check out quickly, like less than 4 minutes on line and 5 minutes completely finished. I was able to speak with a manager quick as well about an item I was looking for.

It is just not the nicest H.T.s in town but I prefer Harris Teeters to other grocery stores in Durham. Open 24 hours.
