Went there today with my brother and fiancee to pick up some wine. We went in and couldnt find someone to help us because they were all busy talking to each other. When we finally found our wine and went to pay, the lady at the register is so busy staring down my fiancee that she drops the wine twice on the conveyer belt, almost breaking it, and then drops my ID on the floor and I have to pick it up. My fiancee didnt have her ID with her, since we had just ran in, so the cashier called for an ID check and the person doing it told her that she has to leave the store and wait outside. Not only did they make her leave, but they also asked my 39 year old brother for ID, meanwile on the next register, a bunch of teens that clearly looked underage didnt get carded for HARD LIQUOR. I am really dissatisfied with this place and how poorly they treat their customers. I dont mind obeying the law, and understand that there are protocols that have to follow as a liquor vendor, but what I do have is a problem with is my fiancee being treated poorly because of policy that seems to be enforced solely on the whim of their employees apparent prejudices.

If I had experienced the same slow service, Id agree with the one-star reviews. I am a very picky shopper and easy to complain, I admit. (I cook for a living, and I have shopped EVERYWHERE in our region.) I have only had great experiences here, with staff actually volunteering recommendations. (Example: The salesperson noticed my browsing in the rye section, suggested Derby, and it is now my go-to.) I have shopped at Wine Library for years, but their problem of locating the spirits upstairs has turned me off, and makes shopping there a chore instead of a quick in-and-out. There is absolutely no comparison between the two stores for spirits and staff. And I always find what I want with the wine, too. So I drive out of my way to go to Total Wine and do not regret it.

Very poor customer service. The store Manager named Scott was very rude. He definitely racially profiled a group of my friends and I by following us throughout the store up until checkout making it seem like he was trying to assist us but he had the preconceived impression that we were there to steal, it was so obvious. Once arriving to the register to checkout the store clerk named Shay was very unpleasant and was clearly unhappy with her job. Did not greet us upon arriving to the register nor did she thank us for shopping at the store and inviting us back. And just so you know Scott (because I know you will be seeing this) we spent almost what you made your entire hourly shift in one visit. Please reconsider your store values and morals. Thank you

I just went to this Total Wine location for the second time. My husband loves the prices and always has me go here now. The manager came over to me right away and gave me tour of all the great table wines in the $4-$6 price range. He knew all the history behind each of the companies, and why they were able to be at that price point. After I continued around the store, I had 3 more employees asking if I needed help. The manager prides himself on customer service and will not tolerate any unhelpful employees. Go here for sure, for a great bargain and great service! If you like vodka, try the Veil (American made, high quality and $8.99).

One of the managers here really rubbed me the wrong way. Went in on a Saturday to pick up a case of Heineken for a BBQ we were hosting. The place was completely understaffed for a summer Saturday with only 2 registers open. A manager in the front was blaming a new employee for it being so backed up but Im sorry you as a manager are responsible for properly staffing and training your shop. Complete amateur show in front of the customers to air those kinds of complaints. This place is only 2 minutes from my house but I will drive the Extra time to the Wine Seller in Cranford to avoid experiences like this. 25 minutes to buy a case of beer!!!

Horrible! Yesterday Me and my husband went to the loction 250 Springfeild Road Union Nj on 22... From the moment we walk into the store we was followed and harassed. We already knew what we was going to purshase. We immediately got what we wanted got into line.. The cashier request that we both show IDs although my husband was purchasing and I didnt have my ID I felt as if they were judging . The cashier was very rude didnt want to deal with us. I realize I had my license after all. The cashier still didnt want to Ring us up for our items.. The manager took care of us and we left... I definitely will not Return!

Immense selection, and helpful staff that is not pushy and doesnt intimidate. Lowest prices, also. And they dont have an obnoxious "top ten wines" that they made up in order to push mediocre, unknown wines with the highest profit margins (cough-library-cough). By the way, "Stendhals syndrome is a psychosomatic illness that causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness, confusion and even hallucinations when an individual is exposed to art, usually when the art is particularly beautiful or a large amount of art is in a single place." Bob S. is right - sufferers should avoid this store!

There is a difference between this place and Astor Place Wine and Spirits that is worth probing a bit. This is definitely more commercial and a little less interesting. For example, I wouldnt go here for a $300 bottle of cognac, as Astor Place is more of a high-end retail store. However, I would definitely come here for bargain priced but still interesting enough wines and spirits. If it was convenient enough for me Id probably come here a lot to pick up the bourbons and vodkas and mixers that I usually end my day with.

Theyve got a pretty decent selection with the usual prices. Some things are more expensive than other places but other things are not as expensive. They often have wine tasting available. The sales people are helpful and seem pretty knowledgeable. If you have an ad for a product you found cheaper elsewhere, theyll honor it. I forgot to bring the ad and they called the store where I found it cheaper to match the price. Good customer service.

They have a comprehensive wine selection, ample beer and liquor selection, and a large cigar humidor to boot. Staff is friendly and know their stuff. Their recommendations are always on point. Ive found many favorites thanks to them. Also, great deals, a rewards program and e-mail coupons. Many wines have a "Mix 6" pricing which is a great way to stock up and save. They have weekly wine tastings as well. Top notch.
