Our 5 1/2 year old Frigidaire Gallery Dishwasher started leaking and I called Mr. Appliance on a Friday for an appointment on Tuesday. I received an email Monday night with a two hour window for when the technician, Kurt, would arrive and then on Tuesday Kurt called when he was 20 minutes away which was much appreciated. The O rings were bad on the motor and needed to be replaced. To replace the entire motor & O rings only cost $40 than just the O rings since Frigidaire gouges on replacement parts so we agreed to replace the motor & O rings together. The part needed to be ordered so we scheduled the installation on Friday. Payment FYI - When I made the original appointment they told me it would be $69 or $79 dollars for the service call. If we agreed to have Mr. Appliance fix the problem, then that fee was applied to the overall price. Since the part needed to be ordered, they had us pay 50% of the total which included the original service fee. I wanted everyone to know as we have heard of contractors getting money up front and then not performing the job. This was definitely NOT a problem here. Thursday night I received my email with the two hour arrival window and Friday morning Kurt called again when he was 20 minutes away. The whole dishwasher had to be pulled out and he brought a plastic mat to make sure our wood floors did not get scratched. The whole job probably took less than 1 hour. Kurt was courteous, polite, professional and on time. In addition, I felt the price was fair. The replacement part and service is given a 1 year warranty from Mr. Appliance and not Frigidaire. I will certainly call Mr. Appliance of Cary the next time we have an issue with any of our appliances.

A technician came out a few weeks ago to repair our water dispenser on our refrigerator. The tiny plastic switch that connects the water dispenser bracket was broken and I was informed by the technician that is was not an expensive part and that our bill "shouldnt be too much " when I asked him about the cost prior to authorizing the repairs to be made. After 25 minutes the technician came to me with the authorization of our billing invoice for $186.00. My jaw nearly hit the floor, and when I asked the technician how much the part cost he told me that he believed it was around $20 give or take. According to their billing invoice $155 was the service fee for our 25 minute service call plus taxes, fees, etc. After calling the Office Manager Maria to question the $155 service charge I was made aware that the minimum service charge for a service call is $155 and they do not bill by the hour, but rather by the job. To me, when someone tells me that a repair "shouldnt be too much" for a very simple and fast repair I dont expect to be handed an invoice for $186. My first though was that technicians at Mr. Appliance must make A LOT of money if they dont consider $186 to be all that much money. Amended 5/30/17: I spoke with Stan, the owner of Mr. Appliance of Cary today, he called to speak with me with me regarding my review and was extremely courteous and respectful of my concerns. Stan was extremely receptive in regards to my concerns and very apologetic about our experience.

Just moved to the area after five years of living in Wilmington. I had brought my washer and dryer with me and needed it to be hooked up. The movers said legally they cant. Which I understand. Theyre movers, not experienced with appliances. But when I inquired at my new apartments if maintenance can (which I was told before I moved in that they can) I was told they cannot either for liability. If maintenance cant hook up a w/d for new tenants what do they do? I called Loews where I purchased it but no one picked up the phone. So I ended up Googling Mr. Appliance. I have seen their service vans around for various years and also on Undercover Boss. I talked to Stan the owner of the Cary location. He was very friendly and professional. He offered to send someone out the next day and gave me a good time and all the details. The next day early in the timeframe of 2:30-3:30 Buddy arrived. He was also very friendly and professional. He took the time to hook up my w/d and also make sure they were working properly. He he answered all my questions and even wore those little work booties as to not track dirt on the carpet. I was pleased with the service I received and would call gem again if needed.

I must have gotten their bad egg service. Definitely felt hustled. Hired them to fix my oven at my rented townhouse. Since the tenant was there and not me, I didnt get to see what the technician did, but was told a few days later. The man walked in, walked straight to the back of the house looked at the circuit breaker, then blamed the control board in the oven. LEFT WITHOUT OPENING THE OVEN. Told me the controller board was broken and they would charge ~$550 to replace the $200 part. Told them no thanks. Ive replaced the board before and can easily do it again. So I ordered a board, ran over and replaced it. Nothing. Hmm. Thats odd. So I call Mr Appliance. They say that they are sorry for the inconvenience, but if I would have hired them, they would have guaranteed the repair. I get that part. What I dont get was that the forced me to pay their invoice before dispatching another technician to ACTUALLY diagnose the problem! Turned out to be electrical which they wouldnt repair. And I forgot to mention that the first invoice they sent me was for the full price of the repair, which they didnt do! Another nice hustle. Stay away and explore other options.

We were preparing for a Passover Seder meal (to be held Monday eve), and I was doing some advanced cooking on Sunday afternoon, when the stove died! Frantically looking around for an appliance repair service, we stumbled on Mr. Appliance of Cary, and their answering service arranged a service visit first thing on Monday morning. I got an immediate follow up email confirming appointment. True to their word, the repair person showed up first thing, and he even made a special trip to Raleigh to pick up the needed part, install it, and get the stove up and running in time to complete the holiday meal preparations. You folks saved my sanity and our holiday meal with your prompt and sensitive response to our urgent need. We are keeping your contact card for future reference. Good luck with keeping up the good work! Thank you.

Mr Appliance of Cary answered my call on the day after Thanksgiving when all other repair services I called that day either no answer or simply go to answering machine including my Viking Customer service hot line. Mr Appliance explained to me the procedure and charge clearly, and promised to send me a Viking specialist. The service person came to check my refrigerator as scheduled. He is very knowledgeable with 10-year experience in Viking products. He carefully examined my refrigerator, found out the problem and provided a detail repairing procedure. Even better, he found out my refrigerator is less than six year old and still under warranty which I did not see that on web search myself. Mr Appliance of Cary demonstrates to me their service is very professional and detailed. I am very satisfied with their services.
