The good: Helpful staff, good prices, really nice folks. They have a nice selection of stock. Ive had good luck buying inverts (crabs,snails) there. Most of the staff give really good advice, too, though some not so much. The not-so-good: Out of three fish Ive gotten from the store, two died within two weeks and the third one developed a parasitic outbreak before it was even out of the bag. Had to fight to get them to take it back and treat it. They have a no-refund, no-return policy, but they eventually agreed to refund the money for the sick one. Yes, saltwater fish are touchy, and I understand why they cant refund every time one dies. But 0 for 3 is a pretty unlucky stretch, especially when all the other critters in my tanks are fine. Overall, I still think its a good store for a number of things, but Ill be careful buying fish there in the future.

Terrible customer service. Freshwater fish we bought werent in the best shape and the plants we got were COVERED in pest snails that we are still overcoming. The staff, despite being the only customer in the store, is reluctant to help when asked. They provide no insight or expertise, actual conversation (not the only bad experience) when I attempted to call: "hi! We shop there and live in the area. Our 20 gallon tank has green water, weve tried xxx so far, but it came right back. Anything we can pick up from you guys to help out?" Hm. Sorry, not that I can think of.." "oh. Ok?" Ok, thanks for calling" WHAT!? I wouldve bought whatever they told me without question. We just started driving thirty minutes to the Raleigh location.

I drove 45 minutes to this store because they were willing to take my cichlids in as a trade for new fish. I arrived at 12:15 (when they open at 12) and I waited 45 minutes for the store to open. The gentleman who opened didnt even acknowledge me when I walked in and spent another 10 minutes waiting for him to finish what he was doing. The fish looked terrible but I took a gamble and bought some fish and plants. Needless to say, the only thing that survived from my purchase were the plants. Every fish I got died the next day or two. My fish I bought from petsmart the next day are all doing completely fine. I will never go back to this store, it was a complete waste of my time and my money.

The only good thing about this store is that they have a lot more species of fish than your average pet store but everything else is TRASH! Their customer service is so bad, and judging from the way they talk I feel like some havent even owned a fish in their life. Every time I ask ask a question they give me a terrible response and the employees are very slow. The fish are kept in smaller tanks than some big pet stores and their just as crammed in there. I purchased a rainbow shark from them and sure enough it died on me in the first few days. Ill never go back to this place again and dont recommend it.

Terrible experience will not even spend a dollar there first dont try to call the place there not gonna answer and when they do and you let the manager know that you try to call the place 20 time to figure out were there actually located they tell you that they dont answer the phone when they have a customer YES on the reviews people say that no one helps you and you have to ask for help any state answer after the 20 times theres a guy that does not know about fish that answers the phone dont waste your time people there is a fish room in Raleigh

I had an awesome experience here. My girlfriend was having some troubles with her African cichlids and we came in looking for some advice. We were met with a smile and exceptional dedication to customer service. Montay was more than happy to talk us through steps and procedures into how to proceed with our cichlids. They have a large variety of fish and an abundance of African cichlids. Overall we were very satisfied with this store and will be coming here again and hope more fish enthusiasts enjoy this location as well. Thanks again Montay!!

We came in last night and had a wonderful experience. This was our first time here, we asked alot of questions, and we were assisted by Josh and Patrick. They were both extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. They did not try to push us to buy stuff, and actually they cautioned us on making certain purchases due to us being new to owning a salt water tank. We would absolutely recommend this fish store and we will continue to drive over an hour just to come here. Thank you for everything, we will DEFINITELY be back!

I drove 30 minutes to this location looking to add to my freshwater tank. As I was looking around, I noticed that at least a 1/3 of the freshwater tanks had fish infested with Ich, and other diseases. I believe the majority of the fresh water tanks had at least one dead or dying fish in it. I decided I wasnt going to take the risk of buying from there and that I would drive the extra 30mins to a better store. One good note was that there was a female staff that was polite to me and asked if I needed any help.

Beautiful shop. Its a real treat to visit. I often stop in with my grandmother just to look around. Great selection of fish and the owner/manager is very helpful and knowledgable. He unfortunately sold me two fish with ich that died within days. I was a bit frustrated that he did not identify the ich on them but he did not hesitate to offer me a store credit. The other fish Ive purchased are healthy and thriving and the fish all look healthy in the shop. Will return again!

Great help and advice. Very friendly but you do have to ask for help. Its actually polite on their part. The reviewer below me might have expected people to come jump on you when you walk in the store but its not like that at all. If you want that, go to some crappy Petsmart store where they have no idea what theyre talking about. The owner and employees here are relaxed and extremely knowledgeable. I drive an hour to go here every 2-3 weeks.

Traveled 1.5 hours to get there today, walk around and waited for help for about 10mins. Another couple walks in pass to the the rear of the store. 1 min later the employee looks at me and walks around me then ask the couple if they needed help. I was looking to stock two 125 gal saltwater tanks. Now , since Im still in Cary nc I will continue to find a pet store. If anyone has one in mind please reply. Thanks in advance.

Im a frequent patron of the store. If you need lots of attention or advice during a visit, avoid Saturdays and Sundays when its busy. The staff is knowledgable, but it takes time to service everyone so let them know your waiting to be help and be patient. Most of the time I shop during the week when i know what Im looking for and dont have to wait. They have a good selection of saltwater species.
