Run-on sentence alert for a story about two employees standing in the refrigerator section: When I cool your heels at the checkout counter and two employees see me standing there (while a third stocking shelves ignores me as he passes by), and then I seek and find the well-hidden bell to request assistance, after which the girl responding acts as if I have interrupted her life-or-death-conversation with her fellow employee and finally deigns to complete my transaction with a surly look and a curt "thank you" shoving my chance back at me . . . I think to myself yes, I am going to say something. I can get that at Stop and Shop, but since they monitor employee behavior, it actually rarely happens. The world is full of unnecessary rudeness. I dont need it on a sunny, warm Monday morning, or any other day of the week. Customer Service is an art not to be taken lightly. When I give my money to a business, I think my transaction should be handled politely, and quickly, because I can easily spend my money elsewhere. I could let this go, but you know, I am simply tired of being treated as if my business does not matter. This is not the first time. When you ask for reviews, not all of them will be wonderful, but if we all chalk it up to "someone having a bad day" and you dont hear about it, you cant fix it either. If you cant fix it, then how many others will feel as I feel this moment and simply go elsewhere? Or decide to shop online and avoid negative human interactions altogether? I can actually go directly to the many farmers in the Rhinebeck area. Less convenient? Sure, but those farmers understand the importance of good relationships in the community and I make sure they benefit from receiving all of the proceeds of my transaction. Something to consider.

There is not a whole lot of competition (i.e. choice) in the area, so given that, they are a lifesaving alternative to the chain supermarkets. They have an adequate selection but are very pricey. Also you need to keep a sharp eye because they mix in a lot of non-organic items, and they push it very close to the expiration date especially in the dairy section. Still, at least they are here!
