I dont ever want to shop here again! First, there were no employees on the floor to ask for help to get items that are out of reach. If youre going to have shelves that are so high, you need to have help accessible especially on busy weekends, but this was not the case. Produce section was the worst. It seemed whoever works in that section is a hot mess. First item - The sign noted 2 for $5 for Florida Avocados. When I checked out, they were $2 each. Fine this was a good deal. Second item - The sign noted $1.99 EACH for papaya. When I checked out it was actually $1.99 per pound. Deceiving. I went to customer service to return the papaya. I would like to mention that the 2 employees I spoke to were respectful and nice. However, their remarks were aggravating. They told me I cannot return the papaya because this item is usually sold by pound and not each and I should have known that. That is not the point.....FAIRWAY made a mistake on their part and had the sign for EACH! How dare you pin it on a customer?? Anyways, the customer service said they cannot process a return and have to go through the Manager. So they called for him twice, the manager did not come. Finally they called him and they got the approval for return. I overheard and the manager stated in an irritated voice that he was busy and why he was being interrupted. Holy moly! Overall, I was a victim but it was made that I was at fault. No apologies were made and no attempts to correct the signage in the produce section. This should have been an easy process, but instead was an extremely frustrating experience. This is why people choose other retailers to shop. FAIRWAY IS NOT SO FAIR!

Fairway market is the place, if you have the time to walk here for groceries. This is the best place. They have a escalator and elevator where you can easily maneuver around for wheelchairs. The company has a wonderful selection of produce, seafood, coffee e.g Jamaican Blue mountain coffee and olive oils. They also have fresh flowers cut from Columbia. For those people who need natural remedy products not to worry they have a huge selection of Olba etc. Make sure your willing to walk for a few blocks after you get off the #mta 6 train. Pro-great deals for meat, specialty European products at a great price, great customer service Con- the walk carrying the groceries to the 6 train station, not enough selection of hot buffet foods

I come here often to do grocery shopping and to get birthday cakes from the bakery. Their produce is fresh and the prices are decent for NYC. The best deal are the cakes in their bakery. The best cake is their fruit topped cheesecake. You can get a 6 inch cheesecake for $17.99 or 10 inch cheesecake for $23.99. They put a lot of fruit on top: kiwi, mango, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Theres none of that sugary syrup so its just fruit. Its not sweet and its a good deal on a cake for any occasion. Sometimes you can get the 10 inch cheesecake for $17.99 on sale which is an amazing deal.

This place is AMAZING. Not only do they literally have every food item you could ever think of in an American grocery store, its extremely affordable! I heard rumors about how awesomely stocked, organized and plentiful this place was, but I dont think anybody is prepared on their first visit for the ginormous size and quantity of food products they have available. Another plus is their line is incredibly EFFICIENT. If youre just on the edge of the grocery store being too far, its WORTH COMING. Ill say it again... IT IS WORTH COMING HERE!

It is a great addition to Kips Bay area as the other supermarkets here are no where near as fresh and comprehensive. It is pretty new and very spacious. They have conventional and organic products offering. I love their fresh bakery section and the gourmet coffee beans. The prices here are between Trader Joes and Whole Foods. They are not super cheap but they are rather reasonable especially for the quality of fresh produce and meat they sell. I love coming back here for my grocery shopping!

Worth a 20 minute subway ride. My biggest knock against Fairway, and most every place in this overly crowded city for that matter, is the cluster f- that is the stocking of all their products. Its a combination of OCD and being accustomed to big open layouts in the south, that drives me crazy every time I step in. Still, this Fairway has every item Ive ever needed and the lines are never long. Prices are comparable to freshdirect but their selection is greater and produce fresher.

Bakery,,purchased 2 cheesecake slices. got home they werent fresh.. a little dry....ate 1/2 of one and threw the rest out... Then went to 3rd ave bakery ,, purchased a 6" cheese cake... it was stale too.. Returned to fairway this morning.. Went to carmen and told her i wanted 2 pieces,, fresh please.. Well she became very defensive.. protecting her product.. A hot headed woman .. never encountered such an aggressive demeanor in fairway... the worse

There is a small shop on street level which sells coffee and some pastries, but to go grocery shopping you have to go Subterranean. There is an elevator and a long escalator. Sometimes its not working on the way up. Lots of staff in this place, who seem less cheerful than the ones at Traders Joes. Maybe they keep it a little bit realer here. The butcher gave me a good cut of meat but his jacket was bloody. Why do butchers wear white.

It is a nice neighborhood addition but does not replace the old grocery store up the street. Higher prices but good and helpful cheese department. Cashiers and customer service a little entitled and slow, but they get the job done even without consideration or explanation to you. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come and help me. The front end managers just stand around talking and piling up sale items they want to buy themselves.....

This is the perfect market for all needs in an area that lacks healthy/organic options. Unlike Trader Joes, they stock common items beyond their own line of products. They have multiples aisles of fresh produce, roast their own coffee offered in large barrels, and have extensive cheese and deli offerings. Items are frequently stocked and lines move relatively fast considering the amount of people who shop there.

One of the best supermarket experiences in New York City. Better than the other more cramped and crowded Fairway locations, and it goes without saying that Fairways inventory is head and shoulders above Dag, Gristedes and even Food Emporium. Very fresh produce, fish, cheeses, etc. Lots of prepared foods, excellent bakery, top-notch bulk section, and huge selection of natural, organic and vegan products as well.

Way to expensive. Youre basically paying an extra two dollars or more on everything. All the supermarkets in this area are expensive . I stick to my key food is pretty great. Prices are very cheap for brand stuff . Basically cheap Brands are more expensive at Fairway and the brands that you like are cheaper at key food. You shouldnt pay more for less! I hate stores like this
