BUYER BEWARE - SIMPLY HORRIBLE SERVICE - A am a very long supporter of stores in Nyack and went there to buy glasses. I knew they were more expensive ($600 for one pair of reading glasses!) than glasses I could get almost anywhere else but still wanted to buy local. I was mis-informed of the arrival of the glasses on 2 occassions and went to the store each time that they were promised to arrive...only to find that they were not there and no one bothered to call with any update on the arrival (finding parking was hard each time and I took off early from work the 2nd time). After leaving a message for them, the woman handling my purchase called me and I was understandably upset. She in turn was unapologetic and belittling. She was simply not accountable. It had been well over a week since I placed the order and I had nothing. She canxed my order for me and still...nothing...no apology and no accountablity. When you shop local, you do so because you have an obligation to the town you love to support the businesses that keeps the town relevant. This is a store I whole heartedly can NOT support and it saddens me to do so. After my first "your glasses are not ready even though I said I would have them today but didnt bother to call" experience, several people had told me about their less than positive experience there as well and told me to go to Eyevolution (which is also based in Nyack and supports many fundraisers in the town).

I bought a pair of very expensive lightweight glasses here last summer (over $400), and I was extremely disappointed on several counts. First, the quality of the glasses (the polymer lenses) is quite poor -- rough edges with plastic pieces sticking out, and the visibility is low quality and filmy. Most disappointing though was the service. The manager had promised to fit the glasses, but was too busy with a group of teenagers buying one pair of sunglasses to give me a minute of her time. We waited for about 30 minutes to speak with her. Of course she said that no one else could adjust them, but she did a rushed, poor job for 30 seconds trying to fit my new fabulously expensive new glasses on me. She did, however, sell the pair of sunglasses to the group. The fit was poor, and now I am stuck with bad glasses that cost over $400. Overall, quite a rip-off, and customers should shop around to see the best quality and service.

I have bought 12-15 pair of glasses from Meg with nothing but the best service and quality for my dollar. Meg even services my glasses that I didnt buy at her store. I regularly highly recommend the optic shop to all of my friends who also have given Meg repeat business due to her quality and service. Thank you Meg Tim

Ive only been to a few other places, but this place is great IMHO. They took a lot of time showing me different choices. At no time did I feel pressured to buy the most expensive pair or feel rushed in any way. Theyre really friendly and helpful.

Very rude and not customer oriented. There are plenty of optical shops in this town. Go somewhere you will be treated kindly and with respect.
