this is a horrible place with the most outrageous prices i have ever seen. I bought a box of pencils for 99$ i came home and found out that they are 37$ everywhere else. I bought them while walking the street. I wanted to get them as a gift to my girlfriend as a surprise and i was the one surprised. They do not allow returns, only store credit, which they try to trick you in two ways with this as well. First, the receipt says return for credit, not store credit. Credit means they credit you the money, exchange or store credit means they get to keep your money and you get something else. Secondly, they give you a slip of paper the size of a gum wrapper and say that it is your store credit receipt dont lose it because there are no other records. These people survive by taking advantage of people who think they would be decent, this is practically price gouging. DONT SHOP THERE, buy from amazon or anywhere else you can have in two days for one third the price.

Love this Bookstore! No trip to Lake Placid is complete without browsing this store! Yes, if you are looking for some deep discount then you probably shouldnt be shopping here. If you are looking for customer service from an era that has long since all but died, then this is your place! The staff is wonderful. Their selection of items is amazingly varied with cards, books, cards, guitar strings and art supplies. If you are looking to support local business, then this is your stop for a look see and a glimpse back into time! Pay in cash and you might just get a $2 bill back as change! My kids loved the $2 bill.

This is a great, family run business. Friendly, knowledgeable staff/owners. Were local and always shop there when were looking for a book. Maybe (and I do mean "maybe," just not sure) you could get some items cheaper off Amazon, but then youd be contributing to an abusive work environment, plus you wouldnt have the pleasure of talking about books with the people who work in the bookstore.

Bookstore Plus is a delightful store with a great assortment of books, cards and art supplies. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are extremely helpful. They are happy to order anything you need and they are very knowledgeable. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful store in our area.

I have to agree! I was looking for some art related items for my family and journals for friends and family as well, so much was extremely over priced. Around twice the price of anywhere else. Guess you can get away with that when you are the only game in town, bad business but that is economics.

This bookstore is the last bastion of hope for local bookstores in America. The employees are friendly, intelligent, and helpful. The selection of books has been curated perfectly to fit the need of popular titles and niche. The art supplies are of extremely high value.
