Started buying fish here and at first liked the staff. Wanted to do a large reef tank and they took the time to show what fish would go well in there, set up needed, etc. so we buy the tank - 210 gallon, stand & top. We told them we did not want the stand on display as it was a bit beaten up. They said no problem, they will order one and it should be in by Wed. Friday I call to confirm and they said everything is all in. So I rent a truck to pick it up (it is a 6 foot tank). The try to pawn off the floor model stand. When we questioned it the said the stand did not arrive yet, be in by Wed. I explained that I called Friday, was told everything was in. Now Id have to rent a truck a second time to come get the item and the people just shrugged. Eventually the offered me a crappy $20 store credit which didnt even cover half the rental. Then we noticed the tank had some damage - their response is it should be OK. Well for over $1,200 and the risk of having a 210 gallon flood it is not OK. Then they say they will refund, less a 30% restock fee. Cute because they said 20% when I purchased it to begin with. They next offered to waive the dubious restock fee but would charge me a 5% credit card fee to process the refund. What 5% fee on a refund - the credit card discount is returned to the merchant on a refund. All in all a deal that went shady. They really didnt care there was a potential of $4000 additional sales of equipment for this tank. All it would have taken is $50, even in store credit, to cover an additional truck rental. Their loss - my reef tank will just come from another company.

Im surprised to see so many negative ratings for this place. They have a larger supply of fish than any store I have been to in the area. Actually, this place is totally going to put the nearby Aquarium Village out of business (surprised it hasnt already). Their livestock is reasonably priced. I dont recall seeing any dead fish in any of the tanks, and their plant selection is terrific. I was also shocked to see they have a large tank filled with cardinal tetras which are pretty hard to find. I was shocked to see that they have an enormous tank with a shark in it just for display, so I dont get why people are complaining about how they removed some of their display tanks. Um, they have a SHARK just chilling in the store and a large goldfish pond as soon as you enter. What more can you want? The employees there are also quite helpful and knowledgeable about fish, which is good. The store is quite disorganized and I didnt see a large selection as far as cat food goes, so I dont know if Id purchase supplies for my cat from there, but thats okay, since I now go to PW for all my aquarium supplies. They do have many varieties of dog food on the other hand. Overall, though, Id say this is mostly an aquarium store and I feel like I am visiting a public aquarium when I go there.

After tearing down my 40 gallon saltwater tank, ive purchased a 65 gallon aquarium here. I am very satisfied with my purchases from this location, the livestock is healthy, great assorted frags, tropical fish, saltwater fish, etc. For a 3.8 on rating id give you a five because the livestock i bought from here are still doing great and i thank you! keep up the good work guys! The user who commented on going to Petco, i disagree with you from my point of view of buying livestock there. I used to have a leopard gecko and he lived for a year in a terrarium i purchased from a Petco, ive read the stories of how Petco employees dont care about the lives of animals, when i got 10 crickets once the employee just shoveled dead/alive crickets in a bag and ive noticed some were dead in the bag, i asked him can you replace some of the dead ones and give me the fresh ones? He just shrugged at me and that was the last straw i gave with Petco. Most of the fish from Petco in the selling tanks either have dead, sick or near dead fish being eaten alive by others. P.S. Can you please bring in more Oddballs! Im a fan of Oddball fish and I would love to see more then the average barb, guppy, molly, and tetras :D Thanks Guys!!

crooked manager. swiped card charged $60 for plant, fish, frozen food, etc. noticed large plant was folded in order to fit into bag, breaking half the stems. since that was the only healthy plant of its kind (the others were rotting) i asked for a refund. manager made one attempt and said there was something wrong with my card. the same card he just charged $60 to - total bs. said he would give me store credit. i didnt want store credit, asked for cash, he said no. i asked him to try the refund again, he refused. then he called the next customer. i said, excuse me, what about my refund. he igmored me and continued to call the next customer. he already put now damaged plant back in his tank to sell to someone else, yet refused refund. even though i was very polite, he was rude and eventually theatened to call police if i did not leave the store. left merchandise. disputing charges with my credit card. this place is a nightmare. stay away at all costs. i should have read these ratings first!

This has to be the largest pet supermarket on long island!!! The place was packed when I was there last night. Blows Away Petco and PetsMart Prices....I just bought a large bag of Wellness it was $12 cheaper than Petco!!! They actually guaranty to beat any competitors price. I have a 210 gallon salt setup and I buy all my fish from this store...their fish prices and quality also blow away the competition. Come see for yourself....there is no store on long island with the breadth and depth of selection of dry goods and livestock that this store contains. Dog, cat, small animal, bird, reptile, fish, they have it all. They also are located in Copiague and Selden and from speaking to the manager they are opening up another location in Nassau County and there is one about to open in Suffolk as well. I have a Rottweiller, and I have buying premium dog food and supplies for the last 7 years....I only wish I found Pets Warehouse sooner.

I went to the store this weekend to pick up some new fish for my tank. Amazing selection of fish, the staff that helped me was great, knowledgeable, and very kind. The tanks were clean, and very well-maintained. I appreciated how they divided fish into different sections based on natural habitat. Great prices, too. Unfortunately, my experience was COMPLETELY tainted when I called today, inquiring about return policies. I simply sought to return some fish that I realized were not compatible with my tank. I was transferred to a lady named Roxanne. She failed to greet me with respect and kindness. She came off as extremely nasty, and rude. I asked her why she was coming off as having an attitude, and she responded by answering me even more nastily. Absolutely ruined my experience. This lady needs to go; customer service is all about patience and respect. If I can do it, so can she.
