A year and a half ago I bought a female guinea pig from PetSmart. She is very sweet and after a year I felt she needed a companion but the piggies at PetSmart were too young. So I came to Petco. WORST MISTAKE. I walked in and asked the teenager upfront if there was a manager whom could help me in selecting a FEMALE guinea pig. He went to the grooming section of the store and the manager said to him "You can do it" and walked away. There appeared to be two boys and two girls. I told him I wanted a female, at least 6 months old. He directed me to the "females". I asked him if he could double check to make sure I wasnt accidentally taking home a male. He turned her over and said "yep, its a girl". At the register he simply wrote down his name and asked for my info although he did not use it. All was well for the first few weeks until I came home to find this new pig mounting my female pig. I immediately turned him over to find a penis. I called the store and no one cares. Its passed their 14 days so theres nothing they can do. But Im more than welcome to bring the babies in to be rehomed if she does become pregnant. Are you kidding me? I take some of the blame for not knowing/checking myself. But come on. None of your staff care enough to at least have some knowledge on the animals this place "supposedly" cares for? Unbelievable.

The staff is AWFUL!!! A week ago i came in asking for information about grooming my new dog and I got the bums rush, they were too busy to even let me know when they could speak with me. Yesterday i came in for a few cans of IMAS dog food of which they had none. Today it so happened that a box of merchandise meant to go to their store was incorrectly delivered so I thought I would just drop it off to them to be helpful. The manager didnt & couldnt take the time to speak to me, she was in a hurry some sort of emergency. Not sure if the emergency had to do with the dog she was walking, if it was hers or a customers but she was extremely unprofessional. The same goes for the assistant manager who didnt have a clue about what or if there was an emergency since he just kept referring me to the Manager "Barbara" and didnt seem to know or care what I was trying to bring them. I have concluded after various visits and purchases over the past 2 weeks at this Petcos locations that the staff here couldnt care less . This store needs a major overhaul in management and staff. Until that happens Ill do my pet shopping elsewhere!

THIS store doesnt have enough Cat food! When I was there! Store was very messy! some shelves were empty! couldnt find any cat nip!
