Whole foods has a reputation of being pricey, but I thought that was because their quality and customer service were exceptional. That however, is not the case. I drove there with my family today specifically to get a good cup of coffee and some gluten free treats from their bakery. I was thrilled to see their gf free selection and I picked a rasberry chocolate cupcake. My parents had canolies and my son a cake ice cream thing. My son had no complains as he is only 3 and will eat anything with sugar. Me and my parents had terrible experiences though. My cupcake was the worse. Ive had gf baked items before and know they can be a little drier, but this one was not only dry it was hard. The buttercream was solid too, as if it was soley made of butter. My parents canolies were stale and since the cashier forgot to charge em the 1st time, we had to stand in line twice to pay for something that should have been discarded days ago. We thought maybe the coffee would save the trip but the unfriendly staff and the mediocre cup of coffee proved the trip to be in vain. Terrible service and overpriced low quality items.

I ate from there today and I wanted to order salmon and the lady told me it was only cold salmon there. I was feeled with anger especially because Im vegetarian and they dont really have anything for vegetarians nor vegans! So they told me i have an option to go on the other side... I was already upset but God sent me a blessing sweet chillie salmon. I was glad I didnt get the salmon from bbq. We wanted to try the corn bread (from bbq)and it looked good but when we bit into it it wasnt fresh or warm, and the butter had a hair in it. If you could rate this place 0 stars I would!!!!! I wouldnt recommend this place at all!

I come here for lunch sometimes when I am in the area for work. Last year they changed their sandwich offering at the deli counter to offer fewer choices. They added an Italian sandwich bar which offers huge sandwiches, far too big for one person to eat, and which take a very long time to prepare. The deli counter is either under staffed or the staff that is there is very slow and often doesnt pay attention to the line. To come in and get a pre made sandwich and a drink can take upwards of 20 minutes.

I love this store;-) Although Trader Joes is close by, what Whole Foods has to offer surpasses Trader Joes. The hot bar has an nice healthy selection of food. The bakery cakes are not extremely sweet like some of the others Supermarket brands. Its a great feeling to pick up items that doesnt have GMO corn and soy in everything. Plus, if you get the 365 brand you can save a lot of money shopping organically. This store makes my shopping for my family a lot easier. Thank you Wholefoods;-)

Fantastic produce and a huge variety of organic ingredients. The fish counter is one of the best Ive seen that didnt have a dock in back, and the butcher department is full service, delivering just about any cut you can imagine. The employees arent just there to stock the shelves and ring up orders. They know their products and go out of their way to give advice and assistance. If youre a foodie, its just plain fun to shop here. Is it expensive? Yes. You get what you pay for.

I really like the food (7.99 lb) and their juice. It is an easier commute if you live in central jersey versus the other two whole foods. They have great selection and make their own fresh juice. I mean raw juice like apple , celery and parsley. They have 4-5 different types of fresh unpasteurized juices with 3 different ingredients. 3.99. They also have Blue Print Juice but its 9.99. I do love blue print juice but they need to come down in price to meet consumer demand.

Excellent one stop shopping with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. The store has an excellent hot and cold food. It also has a eat in restaurant that serves delicious BBQ and a family food court. The store has a novelty section that offers beautiful floral plants flower bouquets cards stuffed animals and much more it is truly a One-Stop shopping center for all of your particular needs I highly recommend this location

I bought fresh cooked shrimp (previously frozen) there on Saturday and on Sunday it was slimy and sticky. I went to return today and the customer service people gave me attitude and told me I should have frozen it, which would have actually made it really gross since it was previously frozen. No understanding or apology, just attitude. Im going to put in extra effort and go to Freemens fish market next time in maplewood.

By Whole Foods standards, this is a very big store, with a nice selection. But the service is bad. Every trip I get annoyed. Today, for example, the cashier forgot to put one item in the bag. I only discovered at home that the croissant is missing. Also, the employee at the cheese counter didnt seem to know much about whats available. I asked about bucheron, which they normally carry, and got blank stares.

We have been to most of the Whole foods in NJ and this one is the best by far. Key differences from other WFs are their larger section of fruits/vegetables/meat and more food options. Those 2 differences just makes this WF stand out from others but I dont want to say other sections are not good. All of the sections are better than other WFs too. Its clean and staff is very friendly too.

Absolutely fabulous! Mr David in the deli was so helpful in making my meal of the day a success. The Whole Foods team as a whole are a very kind and informative group. I really appreciate the attention to that goes into their employees knowing the information or being able to find the right answers immediately. This is one of the best trained grocery stores Ive ever been to. Thank you!

Look, Ill pay good money for good quality and good service, but the seafood is not worth my dime. The seafood staff with the exception of one person, is not responsive, not knowledgeable and not courteous. One employee was on the phone while I waited for about 3 minutes then he goes into the back for about another minute and then comes out and does not even say sorry for the wait.

As I put my items on the line, the cash register woman told a customer I wasnt all the way there for doing it too quickly, and talked about me in quiet whispers. I get that its the end of the night because i worked a job like hers, but i would never talk about someone else, because what if they have mental issues? Also its weird for a 50 something to gossip about a 19 year old.

Whole Foods is a great place to buy groceries and prices can be very competitive compared to other stores. Unfortunately, they are not successful at making sure the produce is fresh. There were times when I saw strawberries covered with mold. The same goes with tortillas. Some of them were just spoiled. Makes me worried if they do the same thing with meat.
