This is by far the worst shoprite I have ever been to.their customer service is a joke and they treat the customers awful.tonight I bought a fee things and forgot to buy a sub for my father.so we went in and all the half subs were 50% so we grabbed the two we wanted and proceeded to the check our lane.the guy rings us up the subs ring full price.so we say somethings not right theyre all 50% off .the cashier calls a manager she comes up says there not supposed to be marked down.so we say well why is there a sticker so she sends someone back to the subs .he calls the desk and tells her theres another one there that says 50% that shouldnt be.so instead of saying o were sorry one of our employees must have put the stickers on the wrong one ,they start acting as if we had changed the stickers ourselves.so immediately we tell them to check there cameras instead they start arguing with us! Im mortified and extremely upset because all I did was pick the subs up and go to buy them. I was not in charge of the stickers and certainly did not change the stickers! So the store Manger the big dork yells at my bf to get out of the store because we simply said check your cameras. There employee made an error and now we are being treated like criminals over a 6 dollar difference.the only reason we even brought it to there attention that it was ringing up wrong because it said 50% how am I wrong for brining it to there attention that their product was marked down on the top of the product. I never thought to look at the bottom.I figured it would just ring half off at the register.so instead of meeting their so called customer service with correcting their error and possibly asking the person who was in charge of putting the stickers on the subs. They treated paying customers like thrives trying to get over on them over two 5.99 subs. What I truly dont understand since Im a Manger at a different food store. Is why didnt they just check the cameras if they truly thought we switched the stickers. In my store the customer is always right and we would never ever treat a customer with such disrespect ever! If we thought someone was trying to switch stickers and the people were getting upset. Id walk in the back room check the cameras and see the big bright orange sticker on the product long before the customer ever came in.once I saw that Id give the customer the product 50% then sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience.thats how it should have been handled but they were to bold headed and lazy to do something that simple so we went home subless and extremely upset.Im blown away by the whole experience. Ive never in my life been treated with such disrespect.

The only reason I continue to shop here is once in awhile they carry an item I cant find anywhere else. Id give this NO stars if I could, but Google doesnt allow it. The only redeeming feature of this store is the produce department, which is top-notch. Otherwise...the single entry and exit makes for interesting near-collisions and really slow movement, and even if you dont have need to go to the produce section, youre forced to go there anyway if you dont want to cut through by the registers. They try to carry everything, and leave out a lot of selection in the process. Prices are higher here than any other supermarket in Toms River. The aisles are almost claustrophbically narrow, and get frequently clogged when one customer who isnt paying attention and/or is rude (which describes probably a third of them) decides to leave abandon their cart in the middle to go foraging. The self-serve checkout is poorly designed and the clerk there generally does nothing to help customers with problems, but will knock you over to put a paid sticker on the milk youre carrying with your receipt because you didnt want to bag it. They developed this property for the supermarket, and it, too is poorly designed. Lanes are too narrow, and leave very little room to pull into or out of spots. There are several other stores and restaurants here, and they are bent on building and developing more, which will exacerbate the traffic problem. The entry to the lot off NJ 166/Old Freehold Road is nuts and if youre trying to go south on 166 past it, or trying to get out of the lot and go north on 166, best of luck. Youll need it. The really sad part is that this seems to be the template for other "World Class" ShopRites, which means other communities get to feel our pain.

I googled the phone # to check the price on a Keurig I saw at the store last night while in a rush & I saw all these negative reviews I felt compelled to leave my own... first of all Emily at courtesy answered the phone & was not rude or unpleasant; complete opposite. Emily was in fact courteous & quick to do her job & say sure let me go check the price for you... She confirmed that the Keurig was on sale for cheaper than what the local flyers advertised & let me know there were still a few left. I think any complaints below are funny... complaining of people “racing around the parking lot”, bad music, crowded aisles & calling the employees mutants/shoppers too ignorant to care… first of all how can anyone control how people drive in the parking lot (my experience is all grocery parking lots are a little hectic) & who even pays attention to music in a grocery store? Obviously the store is going to be packed & have “crowded aisles”, the store is located on 2 main streets & does have a wider variety of foods than the other Shop Rites… (probably the reason most of you complainers decided to go to the store in the first place.) SO NO nothing is wrong w/ the store, everybody’s reviews are just basic people complaining about a basic little inconvenience is their dreaded shopping trip :)

By far, this is not my favorite food store in the area. The store itself is always overcrowded. The store is located at a busy intersection with major traffic. The parking lot is always packed requiring long walks. My worst experience was in seafood when I asked for frozen lobster tail for Ciopinno. After a long futile search, I found a person to ask. The woman "helping" me said that there wasnt any. I was trying to ask her if she meant that there was never any or just a temporary shortage. She turned her back on me and huffed away as if my question was out of line, if she even heard me. I immediately called the Shop Rite on Fischer Blvd. regarding availability. I was told they had plenty, and it was always available. When I got there, the staff was most gracious. I told them what had happened to me, and they said that there is no excuse for what happened to me.....I only go to this Rt. 37 store when I have to.

They have so many knick knacks lining the rows going in and out of the store that it is very difficult to get in and out without walking into someone. Upon entering and exiting you are corralled into about a 10 foot wide area with people walking into each other, terrible design. The worst first experience for customers upon arrival. The last thing they should be doing in a store that only has one entrance and exit is crowding the walkways with junk. Once your past the front section maze the store is large and has good prices and selection. Would get more stars if they had a better entry/exit layout.
