I visited the store in Jacksonville, Fl (St Johns Town Center) tonight and had a horrible experience. I went into the store with my boyfriend to point out some possible Christmas presents and to look at different gift sets to plan my Christmas shopping. I was asked multiple times, by 4 different employees if I need help or need a basket. I politely told them, no thank you, I am just looking for now. I was looking at the OCC Lip Tars and pointing out the color I like to my boyfriend and we were minding our own business. I picked up a lip tar to show him, and immediately put it back, the product was never even more than a foot from its display. Someone who had already asked me if I was OK, came up again, "do you need a basket?" I, again politely said no, thank you. She then started whispering into her ear piece and I was then followed around the store by another employee while my boyfriend and I sampled colognes for his Christmas gift. When were finished looking around, we made our way to the exit. We were in the store for a total of 15 minutes, and followed around for at least 10. We were physically blocked at the exit, by 2 employees. I was then asked AGAIN "do you need a basket?", "No, thank you, we were just leaving.” Then the woman, who I believe is the manager, said “I think you need a basket for your lip gloss.” My boyfriend had to basically push our way through these two people while I told them I wasn’t stealing anything. This occurred in front of a full store of other customers. I am appalled by this behavior! I feel slandered, harassed, and humiliated! I have spent hundreds of dollars at this store, and I was just accused of stealing! I will never be shopping with Sephora again, I have heard these stories before, of employees treating people badly, maybe because of what they were wearing, their skin color, whatever. I will take my business elsewhere.

I will say this about the Saint Johns Town Center Sephora- it has a far better selection than the other Sephoras in Jacksonville and Orange Park. However, it could use improvement in one area. I would appreciate it if they would hire better skin care consultants. I frequent this location, and I always seem to be approached by the same woman about their skin care selection. Every time I pick up an item, she exclaims, "Oh, I use that! Its great!" Really?I can believe that such a coincidence could happen once or twice, but it happens every time I go. It feels really dishonest. I take my skin care routine very seriously, and this particular salesperson seemed to hype up other products that didnt match my needs. Even after I told her I couldnt use products with fragrance, she handed me a highly fragranced product that I swatched on the back of my hand. After washing my hands, I could still smell it on myself, as though I had doused myself with perfume. I guess she was hoping that I wouldnt read the bottle before purchasing. Afterwards, she proceeded to tell me just how my skin type "works," making several errors in her explanation. I believe that Sephora is the middle ground between drugstore skin care and seeing an aesthetician/dermatologist. Please encourage label reading and patch testing to everyone who comes in. Furthermore, dont pretend to be a dermatologist. The three stars are for the good makeup selection and fairly friendly service. But proceed with caution if youre looking for a skin care routine.

This was the worst sephora experience Ive ever had. I came in to get color matched for a foundation. There were 4 or 5 girls working the makeup section. I was never asked if I needed help. I approached one of the ladies and asked if she was available. She continued to play with her tablet for about 10 seconds before she answered me and when she finally did she sounded very impatient and unwilling to help me at all. I stood there for 10 minutes which should have been a signal to the other girls that I needed help but instead they approached every other person around me. Finally I got fed up and ended up color matching myself at one of their counters. Half of their foundation testers were missing. Half of the colors had not been restocked. I looked in their drawers and their was plenty to replenish the display it just hadnt been done. Ive worked retail at Ulta before and they would never let that happen. I will not be returning to this store.

I shop at this Sephora location on a regular basis. I have returned items there without a store receipt and been given a store credit with no problem and no hesitation. My only complaint is that parking can be a problem most of the time, but I dont mind walking as long as its not raining! Since I usually need help, I dont mind at all when a sales associate asks me if I need help. I have always found them to be not only helpful, but also very knowledgeable. Since I often want to try out new products, I appreciate their input and suggestions, but I have never been pressured. While I know there are Sephora sections in several of the department stores around here where parking is easier, they dont seem to have the big selection that a stand alone Sephora store has and the sales associates just dont seem as knowledgeable.

I always get asked for help when I dont need it, then when I do, I cant find anyone to help me. its hit or miss here really. I finally found a sweet girl to help me with Cover FX. She was great, but I felt she was also just trying to "sell" me something. She then grabbed the wrong shade of powder for me, which I didnt realize til I got home, so now I have to return that. Also, some large guy was at the counter the day I went in (last Sat, I think), and he knew nothing of the products/specials, and didnt know the girls name that worked for Cover FX that helped me...didnt seem educated or concerned about products or customers...didnt even look like he really worked there? Confused. Also, always out of Two-Faced products that are new and that I want...this was a "meh" experience for me this time.

They will lie to you and pressure you into buying something !!! I went there for a store credit on 2 items I resonantly purchase because I forgot the receipt. I also was interested in purchasing a few holiday present for my family & friends. But instead of giving me a store credit, the manager/worker lie to me & told me that sephora does not accept any item with out receipt. Also, I was asking about a eyeshadow pallet, they keep pressuring me to buy it. RUDE, MEAN, LIAR! DO NOT GO HERE, THERE ANOTHER SEPHORA STORES AT THE AVENUE MALLS , ORANGE PARK MALL, REGENCY MALL !!!

i visit this this Sephora very frequently and Ive noticed a pattern. Their sales people only talk to me when Im wearing makeup. If I go in without makeup, no sales person helps me. Today I wasnt wearing makeup, nobody talked to me (like usual when I visit without wearing makeup) asked someone for help, she did help me, but the whole time she was distracted with something else and rather rude. If I go in with a full face and my makeup looking bomb, theyre incredibly pushy and I cant go five minutes without a sales person asking if I need anything, and its actually annoying.
