Ill preface this review by mentioning Im extremely picky about where I do my grocery shopping. My go to stores are Wegmans and Kings; both have great selection, lots of organic choices and friendly service. Today, I happened to be across the street from the Super Foodtown in Colonia. Ive lived only about 1 mile from it for 6 years and never knew it existed. I didnt have a lot of time today to devote to a big shopping trip so I ran in and hoped for the best. I was pleasantly surprised! The outside does not accurately represent the quality inside. There were plenty of organic choices and everything in the produce department look fresh. Decent choice of fish, bakery items and deli too. The best part was how many out of the ordinary items they carry. For instance, a huge selection of Bobs Red Mill products - maybe the best of any store Ive been in. And other things I havent seen in local supermarkets. Their fresh pizza dough looked particularly good! My only disappointment was the meat and poultry options and, the brands of milk they stock. I think they can use some upgrading in that department but there certainly was enough to choose from had I been in the market for those items. Large containers of organic milk were not available and I really dislike buying smaller ones as we drink too much of it and the cost per ounce is too high. I chatted with a couple of employees and was informed that they are on the verge of a renovation. The store needs it as the appearance is somewhat out dated and shabby. I only hope that once they do, that it the upgrade doesnt effect the good service and laid back atmosphere. Ill be returning for sure.

Foodtown changed name to Nicholas, but for the worse. The prices are real high , fish too expensive; this is not neighborhood for all this salmon, too many aisles of organic no brand name stuff, and most important.......the music (if you call it that) is VERY L O U D. senior citizens do not want all that noise. I could not wait to leave.

Very nice place to shop. Friendly staff, some would argue prices are a little higher than the previous food town. Although being that many organic options are made available its truly for the best. Need to redo the exterior further. Although its a good atmosphere overall

I recently began shopping here and I am pleasantly surprised that this store is never overly crowded. The cashiers are so pleasant and extremely helpful. I wish they had a larger variety of certain items but I really like this store...

Fresh beautiful produce, butcher very helpful, deli offers variety of prepared foods and store roasted meats and the store employs some high school students...first job opportunities for teens are hard to find.
