One star is too high of a rating for this business. I have never been treated as rudely and condescendingly as I was treated here on October 22, 2016. I arrived to find a typical used car dealer with a cramped lot and little parking. Par for the course, no big deal. I will give credit that the vehicle I was there to look at was pulled out and available for a test drive, which i did. The salesman in the backseat did not seem to know much about the car and remained quiet for the duration of the test drive. While waiting for my mechanic to arrive to inspect the vehicle, the salesman went into the bathroom for about five minutes to smoke some pot. Really, dude? At least go outside. After my mechanic inspected the vehicle, I went inside to negotiate. They added $1000 to the asking price for "dealer prep" as well as $299 documentation fee (even though I was going to pay cash) and $200 DMV fee (NJ title transfer: $60 and registration for that vehicle: $71.50, do your research!), an over charge of nearly $70. The dealer prep fee was the one I was concerned with, since the vehicle had a torn front seat, an odor, and trash in the back seat. I knew these things prior to my arrival and the vehicle seemed to be priced accordingly. When I asked what was prepped on the vehicle, someone other than the salesman who did not introduce himself, came over to explain that a flat fee is charged for every vehicle, regardless of how much work was done to it. He continued to explain that the prep fee was an average and that some cars get $2k, while others are merely "made road safe." I then asked to see what exactly was done to this particular vehicle since the obvious defects mentioned above were not addressed. This person, who I assume is the owner, proceeded to cut me off several times while he did not answer my question and told me I didnt know what I was talking about. He also mentioned that the fees are "how he makes a profit." Finally, after repeatedly asking if I could see what exactly was done to the vehicle (not an unreasonable question), my wife and I were asked to leave the premises and that he did not want to do business with me. ***In a profession with a bad reputation such as car salesman, this dealership is a new low.*** My wife bought a used car from a different dealer two weeks ago, and the experience could not have been better. This was by far the worst car dealer Ive ever been to. I am reporting the sales tactics and drug use to the BBB for investigation, something I have never done before.

They are the stereotypical used car sales men. They will say whatever you want to hear to get the sale. Once you drive away, not there problem anymore. They have well price vehicles, even after you apply the Dealer fee ($999), Doc Fee ($300), Title/Reg Fee ($199). To their credit, they did replace the brakes (kinda) and the sales guy keep a line of communication open with me, but it all amounted to nothing. If you do buy from them, don’t sign/buy or drive it off their lot unless they have completed everything they said they would. I purchase a car from Twin Auto City in May ’17. Took it for a test drive and even had their mechanic down the road take a look at it. There were a few issues (brake pads, engine belt, Scratched rims, A/C) and the car needed to be cleaned and filled up with gas. I was further reassured that any additional issues found with the car would be covered by their 50/50 warranty and they would work with me on any necessary repairs. They agreed take care of the brakes over the weekend and that I could pick up the car on that coming Monday. When I picked up the car, only the brakes and oil were replaced. The interior still had gunk all over the center console and they ‘filled’ up the car with only ¼ of a tank (on 10g tank). I had been in contact with Twin Auto City since then to follow up on some of the outstanding items that were verbally agreed upon on my day of purchase. In short, I saw nothing from them except the tags they processed for the car shortly after. They did send me the contact for the rim repair guy. When I told him of our agreement for TAC to pay for the repairs, he didn’t know of any arrangement and recommended that I pay out of pocket and try to collect from them since he has had issues with receiving payments from them in the past. After a few weeks of driving the car, I heard the engine making clanking noises. When I reached back out to Twin Auto City to inform them of the issues and repairs, they informed me that their mechanic cleared the car so there was nothing wrong and that I would be solely responsible for any repairs. I spent over $750 of my own money to get the car up to a suitable standard, and that included resetting the front left brake their expert mechanic installed on day 1.

Horrible experience. 2 and 1/2 months later and i still have no plates or registration for my car. Ive called them atleast 50x for it, i keep getting the run around..weve had title problems, weve had DMV problems, well send you another temp tag, etc etc. Ive already received 2 temp tags and my current 1 has expired..again. Thats not the worst of it..they sold me a 2012 Maxima with a dead battery, an electrical short, 4 bald/sliced tires, no front or rear brakes, a fuel issue that i couldnt refuel at the gas station, and they said it was detailed but the paint was scratched and swirl marked everywhere and the interior was filthy. Ive been in the car business for 18 years, ive seen a million cars bought and sold and have done it with dozens of my own personal cars..I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED WITH A CAR DEAL. Not only that, but i left a $100 deposit the day before i bought the car that they never rolled into the deal. I have been very patient with this place and have since fixed all my cars issues myself. However if one was not a mechanic, you would have spent atleast $2500 to get the car in the shape i have gotten it. However im still without my plates and registration, and if i get a ticket it will be promptly mailed to TWIN AUTO CITY. Take it from someone who has worked for 6 dealerships and 4 independent dealers, this is NOT how you want your car buying experience to be. The worst customer service ive ever seen, no parking at all, a staff who just doesnt seem to care at all, and sub-par vehicles that need tons of work right out of their lot.

Last year I financed a car with Twin Auto City and after two weeks my car started making loud noises. I went to them so they can take a look but instead of looking into the problem they just assumed the noise will go away on its own and let me go. Two more week and the Noise got worse. I went to them they told me that I had to go to a Nissan dealer to fix a broken body part of the car. I completely lost my trust in them. They are so shady to sell me this broken car that I asked for my down payment back and i returned the car back. The dealer then told me that he will not return me my down payment because HE would be losing money. He shouldve returned my down payment because I got scammed into buying a broken car. Dont trust these men. Dont waste your time.
