My salesperson’s name was Joe Bruno and he proved to be professional, patient, helpful, empathetic, and supportive. In contrast, the sales manager, Mike Wadhwa proved to be completely unprofessional, impatient, condescending, unethical, and mean spirited. He attempted to rip me off by only offering me $7,000 for my car which has a documented trade-in value of $10,500. Mike eventually chose to offer me $9,000 for my car after his low ball offer was challenged. However, he wanted to charge me $2,027 in fees (not including tax) for a $22,500 used car. After expressing disgust for having to pay the $1,099 “aftermarket” fee, it was explained to me that “the shop charges the dealership an $1,100 flat fee on EVERY used car that this dealership sells.” So, I was told to pay an insane $16,740 including tax!! While protesting that ridiculous amount and making it clear that my ceiling is $14,000, Mike was extremely impatient and tried to prevent me from even talking. Joe warned me that Mike can be “very stubborn”. Mike eventually lowered the price to $14,900 claiming that he’s “waiving the pre-deal inspection and giving me a little more for my trade-in”. I told him that if he went down to $14,000, I would definitely drive the 4 hours to Open Road Mazda on Saturday to make the purchase. On Fri, I was told that Mike is absolutely refusing to go down to $14,000. So, I made plans for that weekend believing that I’d need to move on. On Sat. morning, I was told that Mike is now willing to go down to $14,000 and he wanted me to pick up that car today. This was too last minute considering the 4 hour drive. Joe and Mike wanted me to drive to the dealership to pick up that car on the following Wed., but I couldnt do it since I must give my employer a week’s notice to take a personal/ vacation day unless it’s a real emergency. On Mon., I asked if I could make the big trip on Sat. Joe checked with Mike and told me that this would NOT be a problem. However, I would need to put a $500 deposit on the car. That amount was withdrawn and an appointment for Sat. was made. On Friday, a hotel res. was made and the bank check for $13,500 was obtained. Then, I got a call from Joe informing me that Mike Wadhwa decided the sell the car to another customer the previous night when Joe wasn’t working. I was in disbelief and angry. So, was Joe especially since Mike had OKed the Sat. appointment and knew that I had just put down that deposit. I confronted Mike and once again, he was extremely rude and unprofessional. He made no apology and argued that his choice was totally fair. There was no guarantee that I was going to come in tomorrow. So, he obviously made the right move. He acted extremely macho, inpatient, and condescending. After arguing for a while, he agreed to find me an equivalent car at a rock bottom auction house price just to get me off his back. I was given 8 very average deals. However, one deal really impressed me. Mike Wadhwa insisted that I drive my current car all the way from Central NY to Morristown and just leave it at the dealership ASAP. My return trip would NOT be paid for. The dealership would then ship the replacement car to my house when it finally comes in. For obvious reasons, I did not trust this dealership and I needed a car for work. So, I thought that Mikes plan was insane! I asked if the replacement car could be driven to my home. Then, I would give the driver my car plus the money and that trade in could be delivered back to the dealership. Mike absolutely refused and I was forced to walk away for good. Overall, I cannot believe how disrespectfully Ive been treated. This horrendous experience caused me to not only waste a ton of my valuable time, but it was mentally and emotionally draining. I certainly dont want anyone else to go through what I went through. Therefore, I HIGHLY recommend that you steer clear of this shady, slimy dealership!!

You would think that Black Friday would be a terrible time to buy a car. I went prepared for big, obnoxious, crowds and pushy sales people. I brought my husband for moral support (who was less than thrilled) and lots of snacks (I get cranky when I dont eat). We arrived around 9:30 after stopping at some other local shops. I was happy to find that there was no big crowd and everyone working there seemed pleasant enough. My husband and I had done our homework online and knew exactly what we wanted and what we wanted to pay for it. The internet makes this so easy if you know what sites to use. A word or advise: price your car before going to the dealership using three or four different web sites. All of the prices should be very close to each other. If one is WAY OFF, you know something is up. I used to work in retail marketing and know that everyones profit margins are about the same. If a deal seems too good to be true, believe me it is. Dont bother trying to convince the sales staff that you can get an unreasonable price...youll just end up frustrating both of you (Im speaking from experience from both sides). Anyway, we took the average price from three websites and headed out to buy our CX9. We were greeted at the door by Marty who was very pleasant. We let him know that we did our homework and what we were looking for. He was good about moving along at a comfortable pace. We didnt feel rushed, but it certainly didnt drag along either. We test drove a CX9 Grand Touring model (the one we researched) even though we had already made the 90% decision to buy it. We werent disappointed by the drive. It matched all of the reviews that we had read. It was sporty, but really comfortable. It handled really well and didnt feel "mushy" like our previous SUV. And, we really appreciated all of the standard features. We liked that we didnt have to pay extra for the backup camera, side monitors, bluetooth, and too much other stuff to mention. We took advantage of the available rebates and financed the car for 60 months (no penalty for paying it off early!). I dont have anything negative to say about the car or the dealership. Everything went smoothly, probably because we had done so much research and had reasonable expectations. I never needed my copious snacks and we werent there long enough for my husband to get impatient. A win-win situation for everyone.

Excellent service when purchasing a new vehicle. Each department quickly and thoroughly made the transition from my old car to a new car a smooth experience. To start, the general manager Justin greeted me when I entered and introduced me to one of his sales agents, Chris. After describing what vehicle I was interested in, Chris showed me the model and pointed out the features I wanted to see. The sales manager Omar was helpful by explaining the dealership fees I could expect and with negotiating the trade in value for my used car. When I decided to purchase the vehicle, Mahek was extremely helpful. He assisted me with transferring my existing auto insurance and the transfer of license plates, then introduced me to Jonathan to discuss financing. Jonathan made deciding on a warranty and financing option very easy by providing all of the monthly payment options for several downpayment amounts and describing each warranty packages features. He was very personable and explained every document I had to sign in a simple and straightforward manner, which made the act of purchasing the car an enjoyable experience. Once everything was decided for payment of the vehicle and all the necessary documents were signed, Mahek escorted me to the cashier to make the downpayment. The cashier was pleasant and ran the transaction quickly and Mahek then helped me set up the new cars interior features and system settings. After helping me learn the digital consoles settings, he brought me to the service department to schedule an appointment for my first oil service. With everything complete, I was ready to drive home. The entire process of purchasing the vehicle was thorough, simple, and took just the right amount of time for each step. I was finished in just over an hour, which left me plenty of time for the rest of the day to enjoy a drive in my new car, get a good look at all of the features again at home, and get a good look under the hood. Everyone I talked to was pleasant, and that really made a difference. I would certainly recommend this dealership to anyone in the Morristown area looking to buy a Mazda. I look forward to returning for the service department when I need regular scheduled maintenance.
