I did a lot of research about where to board my 8 month old puppy. I chose Petsmart versus a kennel. Now I know that the next time I need to board - it would be a kennel. I strongly believe that all pets should get to be outdoors at least 3 - 5 times a day for fresh air and exercise. I got a funny feeling from my puppy when I dropped her off that day that she did not want to be there?? She got sick on her third day - saw the vet at Banfield there (bill came to $100 plus dollars - after paying close to $260.00 for her stay). I had the wellness plan however that doesnt cover what occurred there?? In any event, she apparently threw up twice and had blood in her stool. Luckily the tests came back negative for parasites, etc. We are not certain how she became ill but was told it mightve been her treat that they gave her (ice cream) or anxiety. When we picked her up - she looked very weak and wasnt herself - but VERY HAPPY to see us! She also had feces hanging from the area. I suggest a kennel - and do your research.

While the employees are very kind and have good intentions, I was sold diseased crickets that made our bearded dragon very sick. After two expensive vet visits, she is still recovering. I am positive that the bad crickets came from PetSmart because half of the crickets died and had a horrible odor one day after purchase. Our dragon gradually stopped eating after ingesting the crickets. The vet visits that followed educated me to that fact that bearded dragons shouldnt even be eating crickets. Dubia roaches, silk worms, butter worms, phoenix worms, and horn worms are a much healthier choices. I dont believe these insects are even sold at PetSmart - but they do sell Bearded Dragons. That being said, PetSmart needs to realize that these animals are part of our family. PetSmarts carelessness made our beloved pet sick which caused us great deal of heartache and cost me a lot of money. I will never shop at PetSmart again.

The woman that cares for the fish is great. I have gone over there several times in the last two years looking or help with my Red Eared Slider turtle, and she always has the answers. She used to care for the same species herself, and if I remember correctly, once told me she worked in a zoo. I recently went in after my $200 canister filter broke (which I had bought elsewhere) looking for a better replacement. She took the time to recommend two smaller filters that were idiot-proof in setting up (took less than 5 minutes! I was so happy!) and they work fantastically. She also recommended a new combo UVB/basking bulb, and a red bulb for nighttime. Since I changed everything two days ago, I can already see the improvement in the tank. If you have a reptile/fish that you need help with, go to this Petsmart and look for the nice lady with glasses and brown hair! She has the answers.

Grooming. AWFUL!!!!!!! These people dont have a clue and they dont know how to ask a question. I made the terrible mistake of taking my dog in for a bath, nail clip and to trim some shaggy parts of his coat. They couldnt identify my dogs breed so they substituted another as a guide for his trim. When I picked him up and took him outside, I could see that he had been HACKED!. Looked like a person with Parkinsons did the grooming. when I complained to the department manager, they acknowledged the mistake, but all they could say was "we can take hair off but we cant put it back on". They didnt even bother to offer a refund! I have called the corporate customer service line 4 times. I have never gotten a return call. If you care about what your dog looks like, DONT TAKE IT HERE!!!!!!!

Dont think this is the place for large animals. I have a 130 pound Alaskan Malamute and left him in the hotel for four days. He has never been caged. Although I paid the extra money to have him walked twice a day, it wasnt good enough. I paid for him to be in their largest room thinking it might make a difference. It didnt. My dog didnt even look up to see who I was when I picked him up. He just wanted out of the box. They said he had been really thirsty. He urinated directly after we got him to the parking lot. It was dark yellow. When we got him home, he was drinking like he was dehydrated. Not a bad place, just not equipped for my dog.

This review is for the Pets Hotel and Doggy Daycamp... I dont do much shopping at PetSmart itself, tho I do take advantage of the odd sale and clearance item (some pretty good deals to be had) --- they had a $40 off $100 sale the weekend we went and it was baller. Anyway I digress. How sweet is everyone at this Pets Hotel! We really felt like they cared about our dog. He came back to us all loved up and seeming like he had a great stay. Well definitely be back!

My mini-dachshund adored his time here and came home a calmer puppy. His groomer was professional and wonderful, the people who handled him were sweet and knowlegeable. Im shocked at the bad ratings! I feel very confident and safe returning Sam for more adventures while his family is away.

Our Scottie receives the royal treatment from not only the store personnel, but the groomers, too! How many dogs drag their pet parents over to visit their groomers for love and attention?!? Christina is the Queen of the Scotties and gives our Scottie the perfect haircut every time!

Store not very neat. Isles are tight and shelves a mess. Pricing OK but Id rather go to Pet Supplies Plus better shopping experience, knowledgable staff, room in isles and theyll price match any prices and honor other store coupons.

Theyre the same as any PetSmart except their pet boarding looked dirty and blah. The prices are outrageous and the workers dont engage much with the dogs. Otherwise, the store itself is well-stocked and clean.
