This post is not related to the quality of the furniture I purchased from Raymour & Flanigan, timeliness of delivery, or friendliness of staff. The point of this post is more of a public service announcement to make future customers aware of the business practice R & F uses for payment of merchandise. Though this may be based on the total value, when you make a purchase at the store, they will tell you that you can put a deposit down ($50 in my case) and pay the rest of the amount owed upon delivery. My mentality was, if I don’t have to pay now and I can pay later, why wouldn’t I do that? If you do choose to go this route, essentially what they currently do is sell your debt to Wells Fargo bank. They fill out some type of application for you without really explaining much, and basically have you ‘finance’ the rest of the payment through the bank. While this may be helpful for some people who do not have the full amount of the funds or wanted to pay in smaller installments, this was not my intention… I just wanted to charge my credit card upon delivery like I have done many other times at other stores where I have made down payments in the past. The main issue here is that R & F did not tell me that I would not be able to use my credit card to pay the balance due. I have never had this issue at any other store, so of course I didn’t think to ask about that. Furthermore, I do not have an issue with the practice of selling the debt, or Wells Fargo not accepting credit cards if that is their policy, however I do have a problem with R & F not notifying customers that they will not be able to use a credit card to make their final payment(s). If they had told me this up front, I would have just paid the full amount at the time of purchase. Maybe it was just the salesman/other staff who helped me that did not mention this fact and maybe this isn’t an issue for some people, but I want to make sure other people are aware of this in case they intend on using their credit card later and are not informed at the time of purchase, as I wasn’t. This bothered me because it was an expensive purchase and I had been planning to take advantage of my credit card points/rewards program. I am not saying you shouldn’t shop there, I am simply one unhappy former customer most likely out of many satisfied ones… but just be aware!

Just 3 stars only for mercer mall store. I had very bad delivery experience last Saturday. I was waiting for my dads furniture at home all day. The delivery time was 2-5pm and the delivery guys showed at 9pm. I was already frustrated and I didnt tip them. I went to the store next day with my dad to complain and the salesperson Lee was very friendly and directed us to the customer care manager Mo who had resolved our problems with a beautiful smile. That handsome man apologized to my dad and refunded the delivery charge back to his credit card immediately.

Its a decent place, prices are in the higher side, quality is good but wouldnt say excellent which is why prices arent too bad. Pushy salesmen offering last minute sales or promotions where everyone knows the made up discounts can be given any day of the week. Bought some pieces in the past that Im happy with and one couch that was just awful and not the same comfort that I tried in the store. Overall I like the store and selection. I wished sales people didnt follow you around.
