My husband & I had been looking for a leather sofa for our living room for a while, tried different furniture stores (online & offline), and couldnt find anything. Then our friends recommended the Value City Furniture store in East Brunswick, NJ. We checked their website first and there were too many listings, but we knew what we were looking for - a modern looking leather sofa that would sit 2-3 people comfortably within our budget. Value City had mostly traditional looking sofas/furniture pieces, so we were not sure if we were going to find something wed like from there. Once we went into the store, we were greeted by this friendly gentleman in a white dress shirt (wish Id known his name) and Gloria (the manger) & Dan helped us to find some options. There were a few that we liked and Dan contacted each manufacturers & explained how the sofas were constructed to compare/guide us to make decisions. We were very pleased for his honesty/professionalism, it wasnt just selling the furniture, like the other stores would do, but he explained very thoroughly since we were not expertise. We needed the sofa right away as we were expecting visitors, so Dan & Gloria also checked on leadtimes/delivery options. We still wanted to check out other places as we were told that the one we liked would take 10 wks to customize, however, we couldnt find any other places where has the similar item with the price ranges that Value City offered. We went back after a week. We were greeted by most of the employees again, but Dan was busy with the another customer, so Judy took over. We ordered what we wanted with a surprise discount (the store offered an additional discount on that day) and purchased the insurance, so if there happened to be stains/damages on the sofa within a few years, they will fix/replace it. Even though Dan was busy, he would check on us when he could. And Judy was so great at taking care of our order, going through list of things. We cannot thank enough to Gloria, Dan & Judy for the great service that they offered! And after looking at Crate & Barrel or other retails around us, we expected to spend a lot more, but we ended up saving a lot at the Value City for the perfect sofa! Its definitely worth to check out and even if its not in stock, they will help you to find what you are looking for. :)

THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR PROTECTION PLAN! ITS A TOTAL SCAM. BEWARE!... Furnished my entire house with Value City and had nothing but problems when it came to furniture repairs through their 5 year protection plan. Recently my 2 year old son spilled his entire bottle of milk on two pieces of my sectional. I filed a claim and Value City had a representative from Furniture doctor come to clean the stain and also repair the manual recliner that pops out on its own. After waiting 2 hours for the guy to arrive he took a picture of both pieces and left. Did not even attempt to clean the material. He told me he was going to put in a request to have the fabric replaced. Two days later I get a call from Value City saying that they denied my claim because the stain was deemed an accumulation and they are canceling my warranty. How can they say its an accumulation of a stain when i called literally 2 days after the incident. Well Merideth said that the guy who said it was in the business for 20 years and identified the accumulation by looking at the pictures I sent and then made the decision after they wasted my time waiting for a guy to come from a 3rd party. Merideth from customer service was a horrible representative of the company. She was tge least bit helpful. Being 7 month pregnant she was not apologetic, understanding, and refused to meet any of my requests. My requests being to see the report that was made, to have another person come out and at least try to clean the stain, to have someone come and repair the chair that pops out on its own. Her solution was to give me a refund for my service plan in STORE CREDIT! My couch is only 3 years old! I still have 2 more years on my warranty. Well not any more because Merideth insisted on canceling it. I asked to speak to someone above her a d she refused to put anyone on the phone. She just continued to put me on hold. Beware when buying furniture from them. Their costumer service manager does not know how to manage customers, properly service their requests and is extremely rude!

First and foremost, the atmosphere of Value City Furniture was unmatched by any previous stores we had checked out. All of the sales representatives were extremely kind and helpful, but simultaneously maintaining a friendly distance. Ive been looking all over for a suitable mattress and bed frame for my new college apartment. Judy Higgins was absolutely wonderful in narrowing down potential options. She asked explicit questions while offering a range of helpful advice. Being a novice in bed shopping, she was incredibly nice stepping us through the whole process, while still giving me other alternatives to consider. Gloria Lee, the store manager, was also an immense help. She was able to empathize with my situation, and immediately knew how to assist us. Knowledge of the store inventory combined with a very amicable environment contributed to my great experience at Value City. I left buying a very quality Tempur-Pedic at an excellent price. I want to personally thank Judy and Gloria for offering customer-first service, and for treating me as if I was a part of the Value City family. Definitely going to be a return customer, and highly recommend to any out there!

This review is much overdue. I purchased a powered 3-seater and a loveseat for my home theater (Make: Synergy Home Furnishings, LLC.) Judy Higgins, my sales rep was so helpful and patient in assisting me with my choice. I needed another loveseat to complete my arrangement. Subsequently, I went back and purchased another loveseat. I had some concerns whether they could get downstairs to my man cave. The delivery guys (at least those two) knew exactly how to put them apart. They made it through with no problem. The store manager, Gloria, was very considerate because at first, we had gotten a sofa that could not be put apart and would not go through. She worked it out for us to get a replacement (the 2nd love seat). My home theater is so grandiose. It was worth the wait to make the right choice. Im very happy with the set and with Value City Furnishing service, Judy and the store manager at the East Brunswick location.

Approximately 2 years ago I purchased a living room set by Ashley along with a mattress spending approximately $5000. I chose to purchase the 5 year warranty. Just the past 3 weeks ago, I noticed wear/bubbles on my side table. I have not kids and I use coasters constantly. I got in touch with customer service who requested that I email them photos along an explanation of the damage which I did. I was told that they would contact me the next day. I have sent 3 more emails with the same photos and it has been 3 weeks and I have heard from NO ONE! I am EXTREMELY frustrated. I feel like I am getting the runaround and nobody wants to help me. I have recommended that people shop at Value City now Im feeling that perhaps I shouldnt have. Thinking of contact the Better Business Bureau if someone does not get back to me soon. Frustrated has heck in Sayreville!!1
