This is a review thats a little over due. I purchased my bike from Cycles Etc back about 7 months ago. Prior to purchasing my bike I spent a large amount of time in and out of bike stores. I lost count of how many times iv been to Cycles etc. Every time I went there, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. During my search Cycles even provided me with a few demoes. After finally pulling the trigger I had brake problems within the first week. I called Cycless and dropped my bike off an hour later. The next day I received a call from Bob, saying that theres a manufacturer defect and their sending me out an upgraded brake set. The set back being, Id be out of a bike for a week. During the down time Cycles provided me with one of there demos to use until I got mine back. A few months after that. I went to one of there Santa Cruz demos. My girlfriend was next in line for a new bike. While she was testing bikes out I got a flat and didnt happen to have a tube. After pushing my bike back to the parking lot I met up with Bob. Asked if they happened to have a tube. One of the guys with him happened to have one and helped me put it on. A few months after that I started having issues with my dropper post. While in the process of getting it under warranty, they put one of there post on. so I can ride my bike in the mean time. Cycles etc has been nothing but AMAZING!!!They have fixed all my issues and kept me roiling as quickly as possibly. Their friendly, knowledgeable , have a great selection, and back what they sell. I highly recommend them for your next purchase.

After moving nearby, I went in to check out the place - generally to see if could be my LBS - local bike shop. And also, I wanted to see if they could put together a Mt bike I had purchased from a friend for a good deal; it was in pieces because he shipped it to me from UT, and Im not savvy enough to assemble myself. To say that they had ZERO interest in helping me was an understatement. Nevermind getting brushed off and ignored for 15 min. when they did talk to me the main guy basically communicated in not so many words he had no interest in the job (which required upgrading a couple parts) - even at a steep price. He was more interested in selling kiddie bikes to parents. I decided it was better to spend my money elsewhere and invest in a relationship w/ a better LBS. So I went to Buchikas, spent a couple hundred bucks on service and parts - no problem - got good tips on where to ride, and went back to Buchikas buy a road bike for over a grand the next year. If the 8/19/2009 comment is true, Im not surprised theyre going or trying to go out of business - they certainly dont try to win it. Another alternative to this place is Exeter Cycles.

Went to get tune up on several bikes. Just really needed brakes adjusted for childs bike and breaks and shifter adjusted for two adult bikes. Staff did not seem at all enthusiastic about doing any repairs. They looked at all bikes and started tallying up costs in front of me. When the cost of tune up for my kids bike reached price of of bike I could buy brand new - I stopped them and let them know. Their reaction - Fine - buy a new one! I did have them tune up my two adult bikes for a princely sum. Also asked them to if they would help me put a tire on wheel both of which i brought with me. Took 2 minutes for them to do. I figured since they already had my business on tune-ups they would simply do as free service. No - charged me $5. Again, felt like I was imposing on them to do this. Not going back that is for sure. Maybe their niche is selling and repairing high priced bikes. Certainly not interested in working on other bikes for reasonable price. I

Ive known the owner James and ace mechanic Doug for several years. I bought a bike from this store and they were so attentive that they found a manufacturer defect in the frame. Even better, they stepped up and orchestrated the return of the defective bike, and the warranty on the new bike Id receive (inside of a week, no less). Im on my bike several times per week, so needless to say, I was very happy with the minimal downtime. These guys know what theyre talking about because theyre actually out there riding on their days off, and theyre genuinely excited about what they do. Best of all, as they proved to me, if they say theyll take care of something, they do it, and they do it correctly. Long story short: great guys (sales team & mechanics), high-quality bike & accessory brands, extensive product knowledge by the staff, timely turnaround on bike service - all in a very clean, attractive retail space. What more can you ask for?

Excellent service; friendly, attentive employees; and impressive inventory of both bikes and gear. If you are looking for a new bike - or to service or old bike Cycles Etc is your place! Theyve serviced my bikes from random trouble shooting to wheel rebuilding and have never made me feel like an idiot. All of the guys are knowledgeable and have a wealth of experience on all types of bicycles. Plus, they have EVERY price range for EVERY ability. Looking for a carbon full suspension with custom wheels and all the add-ons? They have it! Not looking for a high end bizillion dollar bike? They have it. Kids bikes, adult bikes, road, cyclocross, hybrid, mountain, downhill, BMX its all there. I highly recommend them for all you bicycle needs. Any visit Ive had (which has been many), has been a pleasurable experience and they seem to get cool new stuff (gear and bikes) all the time. Check them out!

We were riding the rail trail so we stopped in. After I watched the white haired guy run two other customers out he did the same thing to me. Apparently no one but him is capable of selecting a part for your bike or installing it on your bike. He was AMAZINGLY rude and belitling to the guy before me simple because he did not know the correct name to describe the part that he wanted. I had the PART NUMBER of the part I wanted and was looking to buy on the spot. I got the same rude, belittling treatment. Just....wow. I ran into another couple on the trail that was in the shop when I was. I asked them if they enjoyed their interaction there. They told me that after watching the way the other customers were treated they just left without ever talking to any one. I guess they are trying to "have to" close for tax purposes or something.

Went in to have these guys piece together a commuter bike from a stash of old parts I had from other bikes. They were fantastic. They helped me piece together the best riding bike for the least amount of money and turned it around in under a week. In all areas where I was looking for recommendations (best tires to use for commuting and possible trail detours) or technical expertise (best gear ratio) they helped me to make the best choices and I couldnt be happier. I now drive up from Winchester, MA for all my needs because they were so great. The owner just recently bought the shop and hes been honest and fair and a pleasure to work with. Thank you, guys.
