The process hit a couple issues after ordering and paying for our wedding cake. The picking a cake, ordering, and paying process was very smooth. The person we dealt with was great. 1) Some reason Cake Gallery thought the date was earlier. They called us a couple times about delivering the decorations way earlier then we discussed when placing the order. After we contacted them, the Cake Gallery corrected the wrong date. 2) The next issue was when we dropped off some decorations for the cake, the lady at the counter was gruff asking for the name. She didnt clarify bride or groom. This caused wasted time and confusion. We say grooms last name. After some time passes, she comes back saying she cant find it and rudely says she needed the brides last name like we should have known. We give her this. After a while she comes back with the WRONG ORDER. Then after more searching in the back, they do find the correct order under the grooms name and take the decorations. I am sure the cake will be great and verified the week of the delivery that we were still on the same page but the internal communication/external customer service needs some improvement. == UPDATE == When we went to pickup the cake, a person in front of us was given the WRONG CAKE. It took awhile for the clerk to realize the lady wasnt kidding. The clerk went into the back and after some time cake out with the correct cake. We were given the correct cake but not mints. Being our wedding day and a long drive, we didnt notice the mints were MISSING. Cake was great but seems they need a better system for tracking and giving orders out.

All I wanted was a 12" chocolate cake covered in chocolate frosting. No decoration. No fancy design. I told them that I was going to decorate it myself. No need to put anything on it. Just frosted. My husband goes to pick it up. Sends me a photo. It has sprinkles and cream dollups on top. I talked to someone on the phone and told them that I did not want any decoration. Just plain covered in chocolate frosting. She asked it I just wanted poured chocolate over it. Sounds good. When I get home, the chocolate was poured on top and some spilled over the sides, but half of the side of the cake has no frosting. So 20 minutes to closing time on Halloween, I drive all the way there to ask them to fix it. The lady in charge was rude and had very poor customer service. And, since they had to use extra chocolate to fix it, I had to pay $5 extra (For cakes I had already spent $70 for) Because she said that I didnt specify that I wanted all of the sides frosted. I had also bought a smaller 7" cake so that I could put on top. When I ordered it, I specifically asked her if they could put the cake on a 7" circle so that the cardboard did not show, as I was making these into a tiered cake. They put it on an 8". And when I asked if they could give me a 7" circle so that I could transfer it myself, she charged me a dollar for it. Whatever. Five bucks is five bucks, but your customer service sucks! First and LAST time I will ever step foot in your cake gallery.

I recently got married and we chose to use the Cake Gallery as our wedding cake vendor. We chose the Raspberry Swirl with buttercream frosting and I will say it tasted phenomenal. All of our guests were complimenting the cake all night at our reception. I know a lot of reviews on here state that the cake had frozen pieces in the middle or did not taste "fresh" but that was simply not the case with our cake. The cake design was beautiful and exactly what we had picked out. However, since no one is perfect, here are a couple of negative points. It seemed that everyone who worked there had attitudes. I think the fact that their business carries a lot of weight in this community they feel they dont need to have excellent customer service skills because the cake sells itself, and let me tell you, the cake IS great, but would it hurt them to be nice to people? A couple of weeks before the wedding they had called me to clarify some of the details and the whole conversation they were very condescending with their tone and their words and just all in all impatient and acted as if I were an inconvenience to them. Bottomline is this: Were they professional? Yes. Did they make a beautiful, scrumptious cake? Yes. But they could use an attitude adjustment.

CAUTION! Make sure to check your cake thoroughly before leaving. We gave a detailed drawing with written instructions for our cake. When we arrived at home and opened the cake, we were extremely disappointed. We scrapped off unwanted items and did the best with what we had. When I called to talk to the manager, he said to bring it back and he would see what he could do. No time when we live across town and a party starting. In addition, he fought with me, insulted the drawing and told me so be it when I told him I was going to tell others how disappointed I was. Expected a work of art and got a mess of frosting. Will never return to the Cake Gallery. Even a simple, I am sorry would have helped...but to insult me and not take responsibility for the mess they called art...terrible business. I just hope the cake tastes good...$80 down the drain. Lesson learned the hard way. LOOK before you leave and make sure you have plenty of time, patience and money to waste if you plan on doing business with the Cake Gallery.

I ordered my grooms cake from here because the place we ordered our wedding cake from was unable to make grooms cake. They only had 2 weeks notice, but did a great job. I was very nervous because when I went in to order the cake. The staff made me question everything. I asked them to make a cake of our dog with a paintball gun. I had several pictures of both. The staff wanted the actual gun so they could make a replica, so I gave it to them. When I requested a receipt for the gun for proof that I left it with them. The girl told me that was an odd request and they dont usually do that. I didnt care I am not going to leave something worth over $500 and not have proof. Just like I dont leave my ring with the jeweler without a receipt. Eventually they wrote it on my ticket. The cake looked good, but unfortunately we didnt get to taste it but i am sure it was great. I wish the costumer service was better, but overall good experience.

I think they make cakes a few days ahead of time. People got sick from my wedding cake as did I. I was concerned that they might have made it too soon or let it sit out. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered another cake a few years later thinking maybe it was a one time deal. I was going to pick it up on a Saturday. I called to cancel on a Wednesday or Thursday morning assuming that would be enough time. The lady put me on hold for awhile and came bake quite annoyed and said ok. Im mean whats she going to tell me; "We already made your cake." No lol. When they are made fresh they are really good, but I think they are so busy and have a lot of orders that they make them a few days ahead of when they will be picked up if you give them enough time ; ) So if you can, order it the day before you want to pick it up. At least then you know it will be fresh.
