This review is only of the Rice Village location, which I strongly prefer over the Montrose one. Three words: Chocolate. Lovers. Dream. When Im taking a stroll around Rice Village, I usually end up stopping here around half the time. After 8 p.m., they have half-price chocolate-covered fruit - yum! Recommendations: banana and apple paired with a cup of Katz coffee (which they also serve). If you want something a little heavier, try some ice cream. I love the Cape Cod Crunch and Smores flavors in particular. This is also a nice place for edible gifts if you know the giftee is a chocolate lover - they have chocolate in the shape of everything! Most of the staff seems to be high school students, but I have never been met with friendlier service! They are good about giving out samples, etc and try to keep the line moving. My only small complaint that when waiting to get something like fruit or candy form behind the bar, it can take a while sometimes.

Mini version of Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory, the Chocolate Bar is a golden ticketed paradise for all chocolate/sweet lovers. Any selection offered at this establishment is sure to soothe that hungry sweet tooth. Take your pick from all the different types and flavors of cakes, chocolates/truffles, homemade ice creams, cookies, brownies, etc. Be sure to try Aunt Ettas Chocolate Cake, which is four layers of delicious, moist chocolate cake layered with rich chocolate icing. Prices for these large slices of cakes can be on the higher side, but you can ask for the "oops" cake (slices of cake that are slightly imperfect) option, which is essentially the same cake but sold as at a discount. There are plenty of gift arrangement packages and boxed treats to pick up as an easy present. Not to mention, hours of operation remain open pretty late so you can pick up a quick treat till 10pm on weekdays or midnight on weekends (Fri & Sat).

I cannot express to you how amazing their cakes are. Im not even going to talk about their chocolate and ice cream selection. Its not necessary. You go there, you get cake, you melt. I swear to all that is holy this place is the anathema to willpower and diets. Im the kinda guy that eats salmon salads and likes broccoli, and then I come here and its all over. You got your Black Russian cheesecakes, Boston Cream Pie Cakes, seven feet tall specialties like Uncle Joes "Were gonna murder you with chocolate" cake (not the actual name but you know). Everytime someone new to Houston visits, I take them here. We go to the museum, work up some calorie deficit, and then eat a slice of cake that could feed a small Caribbean nation for a week. And, after you try all their cakes, they have *another* location with different flavors! RIP, my abs.

This is definitely a fun place; from the purple walls to the piles of sweets, everything about this place feels like an indulgent treat. The menu is a chocolate lovers dream, and there are many options that would make excellent gifts. The cake slices are so huge that I dont mind sharing. I like coming when the swing dancers have cleared a small area to dance. The only drawback is that when it is too crowded, the tables can get a little messy and it can be hard to see all the delicious options.

I used to love this place, and in my heart I know I still do. I rarely go now, not because everythings so expensive, but because the people that work there, almost demand that you tip them every time you go to the counter. They all have to share it, and Im sure the owner doesnt pay them much more than the minimum required by law. It gets annoying, when Im already shelling out a bunch of cash for their irresistible chocolate, and non chocolate, delights.

A great spot for cute chocolate shapes! They have golfing molds, girly molds, doctor, dad, mom, and assorted letters. Reasonably priced. Their ice cream is interesting because it is normal flavors but with something else blended. I got tiramisu and it was good. They recently added a tiny cup so you dont have to get 2 scoops each time. Their cake looks delicious and is made in-house! I will be trying these next time.

This place has a very whimsical vibe. Its a cool place for children and adults alike. There are so many different desserts to choose from, including cakes, ice cream, milkshakes, and half off the chocolate covered fruits after 8pm. My favorite thing is the creamy dreamy truffle cake. If you love chocolate, this is the place to be. There is also a candy section for the non-chocolate lovers.

The pricing is awesome. The ambient is awesome. The serving guys are super-friendly.. but lately, their ice creams have so much so much sugar in it. If they can reduce the sugar, and make it little bit quality by increasing the price, this will be my weekly desert, rather than my once in three month desert place

Great variety of options to choose from! Such as Candy, Ice Cream, Chocolate, and Cake! The staff was really friendly and attentative! Saw many college students during my visit due to location, which isnt bad. Its in a very popular area with many stores nearby. Parking was kind of hard to find though...

We came here last year when visiting and it was so good we came back again. Theres a huge selection of chocolate, cakes, brownies, cookies, shakes, ice cream. Its all very indulgent, the cakes are light though and so was the tiramisu that I had. The brownies are delicious but probably best to share!

All the desserts are AMAZING! German chocolate ice cream is so rich and delicious! Every cake Ive tried is so sinfully wonderful! Staff is really helpful and courteous but... Hate when theres only have 1 register open on a busy Saturday night.. Line too long to go sit to eat melted ice cream..

The chocolate bar is any candy lovers dream come true. There is gourmet chocolate, chocolate covered fruits, cake, coffee, other candies, and even a station to create your own chocolate bar. I get something new every time I visit, and Im never disappointed.

Ice cream is very tasty. Cakes are pretty good, but not the best. If you need a novelty chocolate item, this is your place to go. They have most items in milk, dark and white chocolate. They even have carbo dipped dog treats for your K-9 friends.

I have a sweet tooth, but this was WAY too much. The icing on the red velvet was insanely sugary and the cake itself was very dense and on the dry side. All in all, its definitely not worth the price. ($20 for two slices and two bottled waters)

I was highly recommended to get my cake here. Im sorry, completely not worth what I paid for. I get more delicious cakes from Kroger.... The cake looks delicious, but wasnt. As a matter of fact no one in my family liked it..... Too bad.

Amazing options. I love sharing this place with my friends. Everything from super sweet to subtle and sour or caffeinated, this place is the perfect shop to grab a pick-me-up treat, buy novelty/Texas sweets or hang out with friends.
