The owner, Michael Sleeper, is an artist and insists that people not pictures. That is understandable given the way people constantly take pictures today. I purchased two "Sparklers" three years ago from the Light Sparkles Studio and I still love them in every way. They are gorgeous and worth the price. It is not overpriced, you are paying for hand made art, using vintage glass. Its worth visiting and making a unique purchase for your home. These arent cheepo - made-in-China sun catchers. Each piece is unique. I LOVE MY PIECES.

I first visited this shop in June of 2014. I bought several items and found the owner to be helpful. After that, I was surprised to find such negative reviews. My husband and I were there again on June 11, 2017. This time he was exceptionally helpful, searching through the many beautiful items he carries to show me different variations of the pieces I liked. We ended up buying two beautiful suncatchers and we are very happy with our purchase and the shopping experience.

I was intrigued just by the look through the window. When I went in, I was amazed. The employee was very courteous to me, and politely answered my questions. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted, but the employee told me I could take as much time as I wanted. I finally found just the right piece for my window at home. Now every time the sun shines through it, I will remember downtown Bar Harbor. Beautiful shop!!! Thank you for sharing your creativity. :)

The owner was stern about enforcing his no photo policy (there are obvious signs stating said policy) because he pours so much work into what he is selling, and as an artist he is entitled to that right of privacy. That being said, everything in his shop is lovely and the delicate craftsmanship shows in every piece. Bought a few sun catchers and they are a charming addition to my home. Fond memories of exploring his shop in the lovely Bar Harbor!

Honestly not even worth one star. The owner is insanely rude and the epitome of unfriendly. Did not greet us as we walked into the overpriced store but instead yelled "no photos!" simply for us having our phones in hand! If youre in the wonderful town of Bar Harbor PLEASE dont waste your time and dont give this place any business.

My experience in this shop lasted all of 2 minutes- i was driven out by the owner yelling, no! No! No! - i committed the horrible crime of taking a photo of one of his pieces. A more suitable location for this store would be one where there are no people, and their pesky cell phones.

Owner or worker of Suncatchers is insanely rude. How that man is allowed to stay in the wonderful town of Bar Harbor baffles me. His merchandise is overpriced, and the atmosphere is stiff at best. Miserable experience. He is not an artist, hes a bully.

No excuse for being rude and unpleasant. I respect the artist, respect the no-pictures policy, respect whatever pricing keeps you in business. But not respecting me in return is no way to run a business.

Didnt realize you werent allowed to take photos. 5 seconds after owner ran up to me and snatched my phone to delete it after I apologized and said I would delete it. Very rude!

Guy inside looked angry as we approached, as soon as we entered the man was immediately rude and had no respect for costumers.
