Ive walked into Artist & Craftsman several times now with no other purpose than thinking "I just need to do something new". On one occasion in particular, I was suddenly inspired to work with watercolor. Having come from a world of graphite and acrylics (never watercolors), I had no idea what I was looking for. To my surprise, the employee went out of his way to help me - giving me the scoop on how I could make out the best as a beginner as far as price was concerned. Not only that, but they MUST have the largest supply in all of Portland - the store is huge! If youre an established artist or just dabbling in arts & crafts, theyll have what you need!

My favorite art supply store. So many kinds of art supplies I can be inspired to try something totally new while I am shopping. The staff help you find what you need if you are in a hurry. Parking in the back is limited, but if you wait a minute someone will be leaving. :-)

I used to go to this store years ago, and didnt realize it was still around until recently. I went in for some supplies for an event that I was to do caricatures at on the same day. I found everything I needed and the store personel were extremely helpful!
