Background: Went here with my girlfriend for late night sweet-tooth fix. This was my first, and only, time there. Look and Feel: - Very upper-kirby kind of place. Modern/chic and fancy dog treats on display. Also, theres a pretty good amount of seating for being a dessert place and a couple of tables outside as well. Food&Drink: - I got an italian espresso and we split some sort of crazy brownie-ice cream thing. The brownie had a great consistency (not too gooey but not too cake-y with a crunchy top) and they use Amys ice cream so cant go wrong with that. PROS: - The server was super helpful and even described what each of their specialty coffees consisted of (because I know nothing about coffee). She even gave me a free espresso shot because I looked so tired - They use Amys ice cream - Open till 12am on a weeknight CONS: - Price was pretty up there, but then again its in upper kirby and everything is over priced. Overall: - The brownie-ice cream dessert we had was good, but thats all that I can vouch for. All I can say is that I was impressed by the above-and-beyond service and the fact that it stays open later than a lot of dessert places.

This place is soooooo cute!! It is right down the street from my apartment, I did not realize it was like cafe style where you can sit and hang out with friends. I came here for the first time with my boyfriend because I was having a bad day and he felt bad for me and let me have dessert (this never happens). I cant remember what kind of cake we ordered, but it was some chocolate cake. It was so rich and delicious!! I also ordered a hot chocolate but when I got it, it was barely room temperature, so they probably forgot to heat it up or something... I asked them about it and they got me a new one to replace, though they probably just reheated the one I gave back. I havent been back since then because I try to stay away from sweet, sugary desserts, but I would definitely come back if I was in the mood for a super cheat dessert meal as the atmosphere is really nice!!

This is my first time coming here and I must say Im extremely impressed. Starting off with the ambiance of the place, it was a cute cozy feel with the smell of happiness(coffee). The staff was friendly and gave excellent serivice and advice on which treat was popular. Now to the actual treat-- These cupcakes are delicious! Omg, I wanted to buy each and everything on the menu because it all looked so good. I swear it is a must try if you are a dessert fanatic (and this is coming from a not so much of a dessert fanatic) I got these two bad boys (carrot cake and red velvet) and enjoyed every bite of the frosting and cake itself. Both were moist and decadent. The frosting was not overly sweet and it was a good portion for me, seeing as I dont like much frosting. Overall, Ill be back and when I have an event, yall will be catering! Worthy of these 5 stars!

I wanted a birthday cake, but I have a soy allergy. This shouldnt be an issue though at a good bakery. I spoke with the receptionist on the phone and she was nice and referred me to someone she said would know. I asked him some basic questions like does it have soy flour vegetable oil and is it just cocoa based or what kind of chocolate it has. He said that it shouldnt have soy but he seemed reticent to say what was actually in the cakes. Then he said he didnt want me having any and he refused to sell to me! He handed the phone back to the receptionist who sounded stunned. If this were a decent bakery they would know their ingredients and use real ones like butter and cocoa. I mean if they would have just said "we use soy" I would have been ok, but to refuse to tell me and then to refuse to sell to me!? Thats just jerky.

This place use to be my all time favorite dessert place in Houston. This location was the first one I ever went to, I use to go to the Post Oak one when it existed. Im disappointed that this recent time around, I was left un-impressed with the desserts. I ordered a Red Velvet Cupcake and a Monkey Bar (I think it was called). The Monkey Bar is a hybrid between a brownie, but it was very hard, not really what I was thinking. The cupcake was the same, it was not moist. And the icing was very hard. Im saddened the quality is not there anymore. The parking at this location can be a nightmare during lunch hours apparently, we circled the parking lot a few times waiting for a spot to open up. So it was more disappointing that the effort was wasted on desserts that were lacking the taste and quality.

7/7/16: WOW! Yet again! I stopped by for a quick bite and was given my own slice of heaven! Staff was pleasant as usual and this wonderful slice of strawberry cake has truly satisfied my soul. Moist, full of flavor, perfectly whipped icing, just enough icing to make the cake magical and irresistible. Living in Houston, Visiting Houston for a day or a few minutes, make sure you stop by here. Not to mention THEYRE OPEN LATE!!! *deep sigh* I think Im in love! Hope you enjoy. 2 months prior: Omg so I just left this location. Couldnt wait to try my cake and my Gawd!! I took the advice of the nice young man that helped me Mr Jordy. This slice of Strawberry & Cream cake is AMAZING! Jesus himself baked this cake. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

My office has always ordered here for birthdays and office events! Their cakes are amazingly rich and delicious (their red velvet is really really really abnormally, more than usual, addictive). Cookies are also yummy (half of the cookie is dipped in chocolate). And then....we started ordering their food! This place has food? Yes! At first I had my reservations, but having tried quite a few of their sandwiches, I must say theyre pretty solid. My favorite is California turkey (turkey, avocado, sprouts, and everything delicious). Close second is Grandmas chicken salad. Their catering is amazing - always on time, with no mistakes.

Drove 45 mins to take my friend to get some dessert. First time here so I told Melissa my order but forgot the name of the last dessert and went to look at the display and she rolled her eyes. Then when I gave her cash she threw my change on the counter and walked away. Wow! This is how they treat first time customers. This will never happen again because I will not be back. I asked to speak to manager but he wasnt there. Melissa should understand that her bad attitude effects the company. We went to celebrity cupcakes after my horrible encounter and they were super awsome! They made me forget about this rude dessert gallery.

I have had a boxed lunch or two at work from Dessert Gallery, and those were quite tasty. The cookies that came in the boxed lunches were also yummy. However, after going around 10pm (they are open late) last week with another couple, I was left wanting. My husband and I both ordered different cupcakes. Both were extremely dry, lacked flavor and the icing was nothing special. They were very small for the price (compared to cupcake stores like Crave), and felt much more like a grocery store find than a gourmet bakery item. We all left disappointed and unfulfilled in our chocolate/sweets cravings.
