Very long story short, I flew into Helena to pick up a truck sight unseen and minus a few discrepancies it was a solid ride. The tires being one of the discrepancies, I thought it best to swap them out for my 2200 mile trip back to the east coast. I called up Kolar at 9am spoke with Frank, and was given a price and told they had a wide open window, just bring it down, shouldnt take more than a half an hour. Well... I made it back just fine! Tires were perfectly balanced, performed great on all the back trails I took, and the guys at the shop were even kind enough to give me a heads up that my serpentine belt was on the way out and needed replaced. Heck they even gave her a once over on my once over to see if there was anything I missed that would cause me trouble on the way back. Kolar is A+ in my book. Wish they were located out here in Maryland, best experience Ive ever had. And while you wait the shop dog will keep you company and keep the wife calm. Thanks again guys! You really helped me out in a bind, and it meant the world to me.

I agree with the other five star reviews. Kolar apparently fairly recently added a 4WD wrecker (tow truck) to their services. I needed both road service and a tow today (on two different vehicles, both at my home). The tow especially was extra complex. None of the companies AAA works with were interested in helping me (due to them not having 4WD vehicles), thus my call to Kolar. Derek, the driver/service guy was beyond incredible. He was absolutely friendly, efficient, competent, and went beyond the call of duty. I could not have had a better experience. And the total bill seems very reasonable (Ill know for sure once my insurance company reimburses me the full amount.) Earlier on the phone, owner Frank was extremely nice and helpful. Furthermore, Derek arrived pretty much exactly when Frank, several hours earlier, had said he would. I will definitely be recommending Kolar for towing and if I need future tows or road service, will plan to use them as well.

I cant say enough about Kolar Tire & Auto. My first experience with them was earlier this year when I had a flat and no spare! I have roadside assistance through Verizon and Kolar is the company they use here in Helena. I was going to get towed to Costco to get new tires since it was in the 15 mile tow radius allowed. Frank said hed sell me better quality tires at about the same price as Costco and wouldnt charge me for the extra miles of towing. He even threw in a slightly used tire he had as a spare, for free! Since then Ive gone to them to fix my breaks, my heat when it stopped working, and a leaking gas line. And just this morning, early morning, I ended up in a snow ditch. Called Verizon and Frank showed up and had me out and on my way. I cannot recommend them enough. They are hard working, very quick, and I can tell honest good people. I will continue to go to them with any issues I may have. You should do the same. Thanks Kolar!

My wife and I were in Helena last week on our way back to Bozeman. It was late afternoon on a Monday and I found a nail in my passenger side steer tire. I called Kolar and spoke to Derek. He said bring it by. I did and the service was great. Derek got us out of there in about 20 minutes. Price was very reasonable too. They are a little bit more on the outskirts of town compared to some of the other shops I found on google. But well worth the extra 5 minute drive. Really great job. So much so that when I do switch out my current set of tires I am probably going to make the 90 mile drive and get it done by Kolar.

Went in for a tire and oil change. 2 HOURS later FINALLY got out of there. And, they didnt top off fluids (washer light was on) nor did they reset the oil change indicator. Have bought several sets of tires there but never again! UPDATE: 7/17/17 Frank is the owner, he is working hard to make it right, will update again when it happens. UPDATE: 7/19/17 Frank made it right, he was very upset that his shop performed like that. They just had a bad day. Well continue to take our 3 vehicles there. If our daughter still lived here wed be taking her too.

If you are from out-of-town (or state!), this is your shop. My sons car broke down on HWY 12 on his way to Glacier National Park on a Sunday afternoon. Being from Indiana, we were concerned about locating help. Our Insurance company sent us to Kolar Tire and Auto and they were there quickly to tow his car. They went way beyond our expectations to help him. The car was towed and repaired for a very fair price! I highly recommend this company for their honesty, fair prices and excellent service. I wish they were located in Indianapolis!!

Great price compared to others in town. Greg walked me through the advantages and disadvantages of numerous tires before we settled on the perfect set for my application, which is both on and off road. While I havent used their service yet, Greg explained they have the best mechanic in Helena, and it was reassuring to hear several people in the waiting area confirm what he said. I will be back!

After spending the day calling around they got me in the same day within hours. They were not only fast but courteous and gave me the best price for good tires they also told me that tire that was previously told to me by another company that could not be fixed in that reality was totally fixable. We had family come in from out of town when their vehicle broke down on MacDonald Pass (Hwy 12). Kolar was right on it, fixed the truck, and for a fair price! I was so impressed that I bought new tires from them the following week. Great quality, service, and a fair price!! I would not hesitate referring this business!! (Keep it up!)
