I placed an online order for repair parts for my Road King after being rear ended by a car at a stop sign. I saw that they had a banner on their web sight advertising free shipping over $99 and thought that it was a great deal, so I went a head and ordered a painted rear fender, two painted saddle bag bottoms, and 2 support brackets for the saddle bag bottoms all totaling a little over $1200. I got my confirmation email right away and thought that everything was good to go, but sadly, it wasnt. Since I had ordered painted parts, I knew from the get go, that they most likely didnt have them in stock. Knowing this, I knew that the parts were going to be a month or more to get in hand. I received an email 4 days later with an update status that my order was on hold. I thought nothing of this, especially since I was waiting on factory painted parts. A week after that, I got another email saying my parts were on hold, and thought that this was funny, so I looked into the small, fine print at the bottom of the email... It stated that the free shipping was only good for orders under 20lbs, but my order totaled out to 49lbs and they would need an extra $48.83 or my order would be canceled and I would be charged a restocking fee of 20%. This company seems to live by the fine print. Yes they advertise the free shipping over $99 is for 20lbs or less, but it is in a flashing add, and the print is so small that you dont pay attention to it, nor do they list any of the weights of the products on the web site so you can have an idea of wether you will be under weight or not. They bank on the fact that you will not pay attention and shell out extra money for shipping when you go over weight, or cancel your order and they will make 20% restocking fee on something that they never even moved from the shelf in the first place. Talk about extortion. After I found all this out, I got on line and chatted with a customer service rep who wasnt very helpful. Pay the extra shipping or we will cancel your order. When I said what I thought about their practices, she told me that she would refund my order and not withhold the restocking feel. By this time, Ive had parts on order for 2 weeks, and didnt want to wait any longer than I had too to receive factory painted parts. If I can keep one person from making the same mistake I did, and keep them from spending their hard earned money at a shop that does not care about their business practices, their customers and how they are serviced, I will consider that a win. I can only hope that those of you who read this will shop else where (there are plenty of other online HD dealers that sell for 20% below MSRP on parts) and recoup the extorted $48 shipping cost that way.

This is the absolute worst sales experience I have ever had. I worked with Stacy who sold me my 2007 Sportster 1200. Throughout the sales process he asked me "Are you A buyer today" even asking me to sign the paper to make me feel like I had to be willing to buy just to talk to him. Just before the bike was delivered, I noticed the state inspection was expired and Stacy had a parts guy come out and literally passed it on the spot without even looking over the bike at all... The next day the clutch stopped disengaging correctly causing the transmission to slip and limited me to about 45 MPH. I called Surdyke and complained to Stacy who said that there is nothing he can do and transferred me to Joe the sales manager who told me to bring it in and he would take care of it. Upon arrival I was immediately approached by Stacy who did not once ask why I had come, But only asked if i had brought him the stock mirrors for my trade in and the owners manual. Never asking how I wanted the bike fixed or anything concerning my broken bike he sold me less than 24 hours ago. The bike needed a Clutch and it was replaced same day and brought back to me which I greatly appreciate. Now my title is with the state because the miles were reported incorrectly and it has now been two months since I have purchased it. So as the riding season comes to an end i still cannot take my bike out of the garage because I cannot pay sales tax to get it licensed. The only person who has any sense of customer orientation is Dirk Hicks who has been trying to figure out my situation with the title. UDPDATE, I now had to return the bike and fight with surdyke to get my money back! Unfortunately surdyke cannot back out my purchase because they have already sold my trade in when they sold me a bike illegally without a title.Your general manager then tries to not allow me into your showroom because He doesnt feel comfortable with me bein on their property! so they send My company Sapaugh motors a buy bid for the bike and then turn around and tell me they want to charge me $2,000 dollars for them to house the bike that I had to bring back to them! So I will now be re entering paperwork for my new car because I cant trade a bike with no title! I will never step a foot into anything owned by Tim Surdyke ever again. And when I buy my next bike Ill take my business to docs Harley Davidson!

7.5.17: I live near STL and was driving home from TN, when I passed and glanced at their banner advert for a 2017 Street Glide for $15999. I got to thinking about that on the drive home so sent them an email. Kyle called me (and I have to say, Kyle is a 5 star kind of guy, so no beef here with him), and we start talking about this bike. The price is now $15999 plus $500 delivery fee (okay), plus $500 set up fee (starting to feel set up already myself). I have a trade and he tells me they go off NADA. Okay so I check on NADA for my bike and a few phone calls later his price for my trade is a low offer, and he explains that because the Street Glide is at a wholesale price, then my trade is at a wholesale price. Okay, I allow that little bombshell slide, but then he goes on to mention that for me to buy the Street Glide, I must also purchase their VIP maintenance program, and finance through them. While I have no problem financing with them, I take offense at the suggestion that I can only get this deal if I buy something else. Last time I checked, these kind of programs ran around $2500. A pretty good slap in the face if you ask me, and potentially a false advertising scam. This is not Kyles fault though. The interesting thing here is that I was not previously in the market to buy a bike, but since Ive seen that advertised price, I am going to start looking to buy something from another dealer. I just dont do business with people when I feel there is a shady business practice involved, and to say the least, I feel that this is shady. Maybe Im mistaken, but when you advertise something for $15,999, then add $1000, then another $2500 or whatever it is...it doesnt take a genius to figure it out. If you plan on buying from them, call them first to get all the numbers. Luckily, Kyle worked with me over the phone and gave me all the info I needed, as its a 90 minute drive there, and another 90 minutes home. That wouldve been 3 hours of driving and anger had I not known that I had to qualify by also buying the maintenance. Im not desperate to buy a motorcycle, you know.
