Worst experience ever. I recommend that you do not buy anything from Midway Menards. I bought a snow blower, Remington RM2200 from this location on 11/29 at 7:47pm and it did not work. When I took out the blower from the box, I noticed there was a stain on the side of the box, and you could smell the gas from it. If you touch the top of the motor, you can feel the gas liquid. Because it was late and the store closed, I didn’t return it that night. On 11/30/15, I check the snow blower again, and it was still smelling like gas. I tried to pull the recoil, and I could not. At this point, I assumed that there was something wrong with it, so I went to return it. I got to the customer service counter, and I told the cashier that I wanted to return it. She asked me if I put gas in it, and I told her no. I explained to her that when I opened the box, it was smelling like gas already, stain on the box, and you can feel the gas on the top. She refused to believe me and called for a hardware manager. The hardware manger came and I explained him the situation. The manager also touched the top of the motor and felt the gas, and accused me that I put gas in it, which I already told them, I did not. The manager then called one of the general manager named CRAIG. I, again, explained to him the situation, and he accused me that I put gas in it and that he can’t exchange it because there was gas in it, even though the gas tank was empty and I told him I did not. He refused to listen to me and kept accusing me that I put gas in it. He, then called a service area, and they told him that it would take 4-5 weeks for repair, which is almost the whole winter. I told Craig that I bought the snow blower to use for this winter, and not the next winter, and that I am only exchanging the snow blower, not returning it for my money back, but he still refused to exchange the snow blower. He refused to listen to me and exchange the snow blower for a new one, and accused me that I broke the snow blower even when I explained to him that I didn’t. This Menards is a joke, they sell broken items to the customers, and refused to satisfy the customer’s needs. This will be the last time that I will go to this Menards.

My recent trip to the Menards Midway store has made decide that I may have to shop elsewhere. I had a very small project to do and just needed 2 fence panels and all the accompanying posts, cement and gate materials. I was in the area in my car, and stopped in to purchase the materials and would return with my truck latter to pick them up. When I returned I loaded up everything but the fence panels saving those for last. Low and behold, they were out of the panels. I went back into the building materials desk and they said they had over twenty but they were nowhere to be found. I suggested they just substitute the materials and I would assemble them myself. They looked up the priced and found it would be an extra $20 for the raw materials. Ok I thought no problem of course they will substitute those, A quick call to the General Manager Tim and he said NO. I was a little shocked and asked to speak to him directly. A few minutes later and Tim came over and again I explained that I needed the panels there computer was wrong and I just wanted them to make it right. He again looked at the screen and apologized but said he could not do that. I said that was ridiculous that he could not do this. He again apologized but said that he could not do that. I asked him if this was because he was not authorized to do such a thing or because he just did not want to. He said he could but was making the decision not to. Up to that point, I had not mentioned that I was a very loyal Menards customer who purchases over $10,000 a year from them (Last year I built a garage with only Menards materials). I informed him that if this is his final answer that I would be returning all the materials I purchased that day and never coming back. He again said he was sorry. I told him that he obviously was not sorry because if he were he would have made it right. I hope I receive a response soon or all my renovation and remodeling business (Not just my personal but business also) will be going elsewhere.

I needed a honey-do list to put in shelves of two different widths on the closet and legs of 4 x 4 also on various heights. All in all, it amounted to cut nearly 40 times. I met Jesse Lewis in the Building Department who helped me choose right materials and demonstrated meticulous approach to protect cut lines with tape so that it will clean after each saw blade passes. He was courteous and paid attention to all those details I explained to him. Then there was Jessy Lepley in the Yard Service Receiving who actually cut all those to my instruction to perfection despite the wind chill at the yard was a single digit. Both of these employees were pleasant to work with and knowledgeable to make me comfortable. These are shining example of employed at the Mernards Midway that keeps me coming back year after year. What most impressed me was that the store was so busy with the Black Friday crowds, yet I got their full attention for my needs. Thank you both. You are my heroes!

This parking lot is a death trap. Every time Ive shopped here Ive been somewhat scared as both a driver and a pedestrian. There are lot of people trying to park in a very small space. To make it worse there are a lot of people in very large pick up trucks with very little curtesy for other patrons. I have lost track of the number of large pick up trunks that have pulled out in front of cars, not looked before pulling into a lane or the front drive between the lot and the store, most likely because they assume driving a big truck gives them the right of way. Menards needs to do something about monitoring and directing traffic in the lot. But that probably wont happen. This store is always understaffed. The employees are friendly, helpful, knowledgable, polite and I have no complaints about any one Ive met while shopping. It just seems there are never enough of them working.

I went here at 1pm on November 2 to get a board replaced. I brought the board with me and all the staff had to do was measure it, tell me what kind of board it was, help me find a new one, and then cut that new one for me. The first guy I talked to said he wouldnt help me because he was on break, the second said it was in the lumber yard but didnt specify where. I finally took the board over to lumber myself and held it up against other boards to figure out what size it was because I didnt have anything to measure it with. The last person I talk to you actually cut it for me but if the purse person had bothered to help me I wouldnt have had to have been there for half an hour. Next time Im going to Home Depot. Seriously screw you guys
