When our storm hit in November, I struggled with an old Victorian window and it won. I was left with a missing window in stormy weather and called around to find that the popular hardware stores on Grand Ave had a 3 week wait despite my emergency (no in store service). John at Hardware Hank graciously told me to come over even though I could see that they closed in an hour. They quickly stripped it of old caulk, installed new glass, and began to re-caulk it and even reinforced the old wooden corners with supports, then carried it to my car.. They were unbelievably kind hearted, skillful and accommodating. I was so grateful that they had rescued me from an emergency situation that I roamed their aisles buying helpful items. They rent equipment, repair engines/ appliances (who doers that anymore!), sell paint, and the amazing thing is that they are knowledgeable about DIY projects. This is my stress free alternative to the unhelpful stores but these prices are competitive. I am so grateful there are old time neighbor shops like this family owned store.

Always a great experience here! They are so knowledgeable and trustworthy. We went in here last winter to buy a snowblower, and we were in and out within 15 minutes. The man who helped us (I think he is the original owners son, and now a co-owner) was incredibly nice; he answered all of our questions and quickly determined the best machine for our needs. In the past, weve used this store for lawnmower repair/maintenance and to purchase other hardware needs for around the home, and weve always had good experiences. Today I went it to buy a grill, and Walt (and another man who I think was the owner) were both so helpful--they spent a lot of time answering my questions as I FaceTimed with my husband on the phone (as we were trying to decide together which grill was the best one for us). They were both very patient and friendly throughout the decision-making process! I always go to locally-owned hardware shops--they are worlds better than any "big box" store. There is no comparison!

I go in about once a month & everyone is always very helpful, but not overbearing. Its nice to go into a hardware store wander a bit without twelve folks coming up trying to help me. I love that they delivered my manual lawnmower for me, and that everyone is always so cheerful. If they dont have what you need, theyll help you get it.

Hamline Hardware Hank has exceptional, attentive customer service. They also have the necessary amenities for most home projects. Its good to see an establishment of this caliber so close to my neighborhood. Moreover, I am a huge fan of mom and pop stores. I will return for tools, supplies, etc.

I have never had anything other than awesome service when I go into Hamline Hardware Hank. Despite living just a couple of blocks from Menards, I often go out of my way to patronize this store for their knowledgeable and friendly staff and great selection of tools to rent.

Needed heat tape Menards said its not the season for it called up Hardware Hank they had it in three different lengths. They were all priced the same too so got the 13 foot one for the same price as the shorter one. Nice people too

Very helpful. They can order almost anything that a big box store has, but they can help you make decisions as well. I have found that they help beginner home owners very thoroughly. Great local business!

The kind of great neighborhood ma and pa hardware store you hardly ever find anymore. A neighborhood treasure. They got new management 5 or so years ago, and it improved about 1000%.
