My girlfriend purchased a Buddy 50 from Scooterville. After the second day, the battery was completely dead. Scooterville came out and replaced the battery promptly. After two more weeks, the battery was again dead. It had only garnered 60 miles. They claimed their return policy was that if they couldnt fix it, it couldnt be returned. After they towed it in for free and examined it, they said they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it (although it still wouldnt start). They finally offerred to buy it back from us, but after only 60 miles with the battery dying (and it not being our fault), we felt they should have offered to buy it back from us right away and offered us a loaner. Since we rely on the Buddy for transportation, the customer service should have been better. 09/16/12 Update: When Scooterville purchased back our scooter (as they were legally bound to), they did not pay back the money we paid to have the restrictor plate taken off. I asked if this was their store policy and they gave me no answer other than, thats the best they could do. It is disappointing that we paid to have better performance on a scooter that we could only drive for half of the time anyways.

Most scooter shops treat you with an amazing amount of disdain and contempt considering they need your money to survive. This obviously is not Bobs philosophy at Scooterville because since the first day I contacted him to tell him I wanted to purchase a scooter that he advertised on the web, he was nothing but helpful. First, he gave me excellent information on what carrier to purchase to get it to my home state of Michigan and not once did he try to sell me something else that would make him money (he recommended I buy a certain carrier that he did not even have in stock right then). He gave me the information without the sales plug. He then agreed to meet with me BEFORE his store opened to teach me how to drive a manual transmission scooter. He was very patient and he even gave me a ride in his sidecar. The Vespa he sold me was an excellent machine at a good price. Also, as a side note, his videos on YouTube showing basic Stella/Vespa maintenance are the best you will find. Highly recommended.

I have owned scooters since 1999 and bought a new scooter from Scooterville in 2002. I primarily use it as a commuter. Even though I do not buy a lot of product (the scooter, a helmet and maybe a magazine every couple of months) they have always been friendly. I had a series of issues with my scooter last year. The clutch blew and was fixed promptly. Diagnosis of a strange engine issue took much longer (it ate a cab screw). When I dropped it off over the winter, they went through it and the shop fee was reasonable for a new head and valves. I had a clutch issue after 5,000 miles again, but the turn around on the repair was 2 days and I got charged less than an hour of labor with no parts cost (it was taken apart and cleaned). I have been mostly happy with the service. They are quicker and more thorough when you drop off the scooter off-season, instead of wanting service in May, when they are flooded with bikes to repair.

I needed to find out what was wrong with my scooter, so we called in to see if we could get an estimate of what was wrong and how much it would cost. We brought the scooter in and were assured we wouldnt be charged. They gave us an estimate first of how much it would cost to fix it based off of what is typically wrong with other scooters. We were assured they wouldnt charge us for these things since they hadnt looked at it yet. After they checked it out, they called us to let us know the cost, which was different from the original estimate. After a second call they also told us that buying a new part would be cheaper than having them work on it and changed the price they had given us from the first call, sowe decided to not have them do anything and just pick it up. Then they decided to charge us $49.99when we came to get it.

Just picked up our scooters after being in for a tune up. No explanation of what was done only told us the total balance. Service guy brought them around front, parked them and said here you go, no explanation or asking us if we had questions etc. We left in rush hour traffic, tons of noise and rattling from my trunk. When I got home the bracket was so loose i could have lost the left trunk bracket if I had further to go. They may be busy but not making sure everything is put back together properly and no explanation on work that was done is very poor customer service. Even though we bought them here I will not bring them back for service. Not sure what has happened, they used to be very customer orientated, I am no longer a fan of Scooterville!

I have and 05 Stella that can be temperamental. I am no mechanic so I often go to youtube to find tips for keeping it roadworthy and found Bobs videos about general maintenance. Working on engines can be a tough and frustrating process but the videos made it easy. I dont live in Minnesota, but I reached out to Bob for some advice through email and he was incredibly helpful, understood my issue and explained how to address the problem in a way I could understand. It hard enough to find someone who understands these machines, and finding people who actually care and take time to provide excellent, kind service is even more rare. No money was exchanged between us, but I was treated as if I mattered. I cant recommend Scooterville enough!

My two cents.. I went to Scooterville looking to learn about scooters and the gentleman that helped my was super courteous. I told him that I was totally new to scooters/motorcycles and he educated me on MN road rules, their products, and pros and cons to some of the models displayed that would suit my needs. I have worked in an independent small business/retail store for over ten years and would certainly say the level of service given to me was high. Pay no attention to any reviewer here calling Scooterville "Unhelpful, elitist snobs.." as there is no such vibe like that. I will be making a return trip to their store when ready to buy a scooter.

Really nice and helpful folks. I showed up just to purchase a battery but my scooter had additional trouble right when I got there. They could have just put me in the shop schedule and told me to Uber home and come back the next week, but they just took care of things while I was there. I really, really appreciated that. Outside of my recent experience, the showroom is beautiful, chock full of great scooters and motorcycles, helmets and clothes. The helmet and jacket selection is a bit limited, especially in my XXL helmet size, but I appreciate that most of the space is set aside for bikes and such.

Excellent shop. Really wide variety of scooters on the sales floor. If you are in the market for scooter in the Twin Cities, you will not be sorry you looked here. I am sorry i didnt buy from them. But i went there for service on a scooter i bought from a Honda shop. The Honda shop quoted $190 in a week. The weeks wait turned out to be the Honda shops problem. The guy at Scooterville fixed the wheel the same day while i waited 20 minutes for $35. They are friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend them.
