My boyfriend and I started looking at engagement rings in October of 2015. We live in Mound, and wanted to find a local jeweler to share this journey with us. We had heard good things about Albers so we stopped there and had a look. There wasnt much selection at the store but the salesclerk, named Katie, told us we could order almost anything and Albers could put it together for us. We knew we didnt want a diamond as a center stone, so Katie talked to her gem guy and he sent a few stones to the store for us to look at. We liked one of the stones, the color was right and it looked pretty good. We purchased the stone and Albers kept it in their safe for us. Albers also ordered a few sample settings for us to look at. We picked a setting from one of the catalog, I think it was Overnight Settings, the ring was ordered, the stones were added by Albers to the setting and we picked up the ring. The ring looked pretty good, but there was lattice work on the sample we had tried and the ring we picked up didnt have it. That was a big selling point for me, I like a sturdier ring and it felt more comfortable so I was surprised the jeweler didnt notice. The prongs of the ring also snagged on everything. I took the ring back to Albers and he buffed down the prongs which was great. The prongs still had the nice beading detail but were no longer snagging on everything. Terry, the owner, called Overnight Settings about the lack of lattice work and they decided to send him a new setting. After 18 days we got the ring back. After wearing the ring for a few hours I noticed a blemish in the stone I had not noticed before. This doesnt mean it wasnt there before, but neither my boyfriend or I had noticed it, and we looked at that stone pretty thoroughly before buying it. I called Albers and talked to Terry, the jeweler and he said the blemish was always there, but was more noticeable because he had set the stone higher in the new setting. He was not very polite about this. It took him until the end of the conversation to tell me to bring the ring in so he could look at it. The beading work is also smashed out of the prongs and the prongs still snag on everything. The prongs are also uneven and very gold looking compared to the rest of the ring, which is white gold. One of the smaller stones also catches on things. I have not gone back to Albers since picking up the ring the second time. I will love this ring no matter what, it means the world to me, but I wish Albers would have done a better job. I went into Albers thinking we were going to have an awesome experience and that definitely was not the case. I dont know if it had anything to do with the salesclerk, Katie leaving in the middle of our ring buying process and that we had to deal with either Terry, who is the jeweler, or one of a handful of sales people who didnt seem to know what was going on. I would love to be able to proudly tell people I got my ring at Albers and recommend the place to everyone, but I think I would encourage people to go elsewhere.

In a world of corporate chain stores where you have no idea who owns the store, it is so refreshing to come to this family owned business who do soooooo many things. I became very spoiled by coming to Albers Jewelry, because I have lived in other towns, assuming that all jewelry stores did as many things as Albers does, and boy has that NOT been my experience. Everything I have had them fix, or set, or make, has been perfect!!! And they fix clocks too. If they cant do it, Terry will let you know. I highly, highly recommend coming to this jewelry store, and NO they didnt pay me to say that!!

I live near Albers Jewelry, so when I got engaged it was the first place I thought of to get my ring sized. However, the service I received has convinced me to avoid it in the future. The female sales clerk was rude and dismissive, she provided curt answers to my questions and was thoroughly impatient. The store had only opened 10 minutes prior, but I felt like she was in a hurry to close up shop. I ended up calling another jewelry store in the area as I left the establishment, and Im glad I did. I received much better service one town over. Do not go here.

Albers is a small family owned business that has been a part of this community for many years and I like supporting them! Each holiday season I take my dad there to do his holiday shopping. We enjoy seeing whats new in the beautiful Estate Jewelry collection, but there are many lovely new pieces to choose from in the store as well. I have had good experiences with the sales people, excellent repair of broken items as well as appraisals done in the store.

There is not another Twin Cities jeweler that has handmade watches, does custom projects, and offers specialized repairs, like Albers Jewelry. For those patrons expecting a high-end service experience, your expectations are misplaced. Go to the mall! This family-owned business is a boutique-style specialty store, and they are very good at what they do.

I have a Movado watch that was taking on moisture. I brought the watch to 2 other jewelers who said they could not fix it. I took it to Albers and they ordered the part and had the watch fixed in under a week. That was 3 years ago and I have had no moisture problems since. I now go to Albers for all my jewelry repair.

Friendly staff. Mike at Albers helped my fiancee design my engagement ring with our favorite stones in a dual setting. The ring is everything I wanted down to the price! I have received numerous compliments from my girlfriends, and I love it so much! Needless to say, we WILL be going back for our wedding bands!
