Hello Google users, Please take this review seriously. I am a very patient person when it comes down to bad customer service. Menards has been a first choice shopping store for me especially in this area. Menards floor employees and managers and cashiers has always been great, but lets talk about there return counter and customer service. Recently I have been purchasing inferior products from them that prompted me to go get an exchange at the store. First time we did this was last week and returned an item that was faulty as stated from a Menards 1800# on the item instructions on a tru-lock deadbolt. We got it exchange no problems and went home to install it. Found out this part was bad due to the electric motor in it causing it only to lock one way even after switching the selector. Wife drives back to get another one only to be told we are installing it wrong many times from (Seth). After the bashing we got another one..but only for Seth to make a smart remark as my wife walked through the door to leave. Talk to the manager(Mike or Mark) over the phone and got apologies. Came in today to get the same time of snotty remark from the lady Seth was training in that day we return the deadbolt. We bought gutter lights and one of them was used and had scotch tape on it as someone returned it and they put it back on the shelf without checking. Beth tells me,"scotch tape" like Im the one that was the one that put it there and never said sorry with no smiles. Beth also said Im not sure how it was not checked with a tone like I was lying to her. I asked for a manager and Steve was helpful and a good listener and did the same and apologized and took named for the the store manager to call me back tomorrow. Lets see what happens now? All in all.. shop anywhere else for better service.. and if you have to spend money here and have to return an item.. WATCH OUT.. theyll think you are lying and a thief. Im sadden with the type of customer service you get with a in-store sale. You see all these big chain stores going out to buisness.. and I can see why.. lack of kindness from a customer service rep and of course the cost. So far Lowes and Home Depot have beat this place in service.

My parents live behind Menards in Dundas. This business DOES NOT follow city noise ordinance laws. They continuously operate their loud machinery outside of the 7AM-10PM hours they are allowed by city laws. After years of tolerating loud machines being started hours before and after they are allowed, my mother finally filed a complaint with the city of Dundas. A sheriff spoke with Menards and said they couldnt do anything other than tell them about it (even though their city ordinances have been broken which should result in some sort of fine/ticket). After the complaint, instead of Menards seeking to solve the issue by maybe following city ordinances and keeping a respectable relationship with its neighbors in a residential neighborhood, they decided to issue a trespassing notice to my mother from all Menards stores INDEFINITELY. If you live close to this store in Dundas and have dealt with this same noise issue I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to file a complaint with the city until something is done about it other than sherrifs saying "nothing we can do sorry" or Menards terrible policy of banning anyone with a complaint from stepping foot inside of their stores. I would expect this kind of attitude from an adolescent child not a corporate business.

Whether you can trust a purchase from a store (as being what is described) as well as doing the job that is described is an important consideration when making a purchase. After a recent purchase form this particular Menards Id like to point out that: A) The Description of the product as described by the stores staff was false. (The product was described as no assembly or very little assembly required, when the opposite was true). At the time this fact gave purchasing this model greater weight. B) The Manager when confronted with the issues completely dismissed the misrepresentation made during purchasing without regard So, when making a purchase from this Menards keep this is mind: -The truth will be bent to make a sale and the moment the money is gone what was said during your moment of decision no longer matters. With that in mind there are many good companies that sell their products through Menards that may be unaware of the tactics. Spend wisely.

Great selection of items but their policies of price matching are ridiculous. I purchased 2 rolls of DMX Airflow underlayment and asked them to price match Home Depot and they refused because the dimensions were different from the rolls Home Depot sells. BOTH ROLLS ARE THE SAME EXACT SQUARE FOOTAGE! Home Depot offers 100 sq ft rolls for $72, Menards sells it for $79.99. The difference was that Home Depots rolls are 44"×27.5 and Menards is 42"×29. I dont care that its only $14 more, the principal of this is what irritates me. Both equal 100 sq ft, but they wouldnt price match because of a ridiculous technicality. Im going to Home Depot from now on.

Trying to build a house, and they have screwed up most of the orders. I ordered trusses, they delivered them, and broke several. I ordered windows, they did not deliver the screens. I ordered shingles and asked them to be delivered to the roof,, they delivered them first thing on a frosty morning when the roof was icy. When I ordered shingles, they picked out the wrong roof cap. I could go on and on.

I come to this Menards very very often and I am continually disappointed in the lack of employees, lack of skill from the employees, and the terrible quality of their lumber products. I never look forward to going to Menards, especially this one. I hope Northfield gets a Home Depot someday soon.

Inside store and outside gate service was great. However, gate attendant called for assistance for us and no one ever showed up to help. My sister and I loaded the 15 bags of bark mulch ourselves. My sister said thats usually what happens to her...4 out of her last 5 visits.
