I brought a traxxas slash RC Car for my husband here for his bday. We have attempted several times over the last 3 months to go in and get accessories for our cars. Yet every time we go in there either together or separate we are told how much the stuff they are selling is crap! But they can order us stuff from another company...yet everytime we go in with part numbers of stuff we want we are ignored! This last weekend was the last straw. We went in to buy approxmently $100 in tires for our cars...and when we were waiting in line there was a father and son buying a new motor for their traxxass slash RC Car. My husband politely told the father that he could break the motor in by useing some distilled water and that way the motor would last longer. The father was thankful and even the young boy asked us some questions and they were on their way and it was our turn to check out. During the time my husband was talking to the other customer about the motor I noticed the woman, the wife of the owner, gave a big huff sigh and walked away and pretended to help the other clerk find something for another customer. We waited for 10 minutes for her to come back to the counter. she just stood there with her back towards us. And even when the father and son were leaving said a big loud thanks as to us as they left out the door. This is the 2nd time we tried to make this $100 purchace, the 1st time being the night before my husband had wanted to get these parts while I was at work so we could go run our cars after I was done. Yet we could not get the parts we wanted 2 times in a row!

The other day I called your shop and asked if you could tell me the size of a propellor on one of your models hanging from you ceiling so that I can order the same prop and you refused. Today I called up to ask if you could check the servos on the same model so that I can order them from you (at least $250 order) again you wouldnt go and look. Please tell my why I should drive a round trip of 80 miles to your shop in a 10mpg truck when you cant even be bothered to get off your lazy backside to go and look up something for me? I have two RC shops five miles from my home who bend over backwards to help me and Ive spent half of what I spent so far in your shop with them. I spend thousands of dollars a year on RC aircraft and helicopters, including turbines and from now on I will be doing business with them. Thank you for your non service.

This is one of those classic hobby shops that were a staple before Amazon and online shopping. This store had almost anything you could need for any hobby, RC planes helicopters, cars, and parts to build and repair the ones have. Classic plastic and metal models and a large selection of HO and N scale model trains, painting supplies and model rockets, puzzles and games they have nearly everything you could think of. The team that works there is very knowledgeable and one of them seems to be a master builder in almost any hobby parts they sell. I was looking for parts for an RC truck and they opened one they had in the store to verify they were selling me the right parts. Great service and I love being able to get what I need the same day and know that its right, not waiting days with uncertain online purchases.

To me Cobblestone Hobbies is the quintessential small town hobby shop. The owners and staff are so friendly and knowledgable. Im living in Colorado now but one of the highlights of a visit to Michigan is always a stop at Cobblestone. Bob sold me my first R/C airplane fullfilling one of my childhood dreams, now I call him with all of my questions about repairs and to ask what he thinks of new models. I am always greeted with a hug from Rose. The new location is so much easier to get to, and is right next to Crazy Horse...another amazing local business. In fact I am calling today to see if they can ship me a Flyzone Beaver (R/C plane).

I have seen hobby shops all over the world. Really, from asia to the UK to europe. This shop Is the place I would like to be. Current times when most shops could care less and owned by someone you will never see. This one has a personal touch. The kind of place you always wanted to find. They love what they do and they know what people really want. Not a dark dirty shop like many have become over time. I am into RC. Many others like other things. I am impressed that some customers love the place so much they come and stay in the shop to talk. I wish there were more places like this in the world.

Pretty nice little hobby shop. One of the only cool places downtown besides getting coffee or ice cream. Good selection of R/C planes, trains, automobiles, boats and helicopters + supplies, kits, comics, collectable card games, D&D/Warhammer 40k and the like. I think theres even an ultralight in there just in case you need a medium sized gas powered hang glider. Used to be anyways. Worth a look-see if youre in the area. Guy that works there is pretty nice. Hes wicked into building models. Theres also like... boy scout equipment in there and periodicals about hobbyist type stuff. Yep.

The store is poorly equipped for electric RC planes. I inquired about several items that he did not have. When I went to check out I was ignored for at least 10 minutes while he helped people who came in after me. When I paid I said "Thank you" and got no reply at all. The customer service was bad and quite frankly the man working was very rude. I am from Colorado and I could not bring my planes due to room. I was going to buy a plane here but after the rude employee left me hanging I decided to go to Grand Rapids with my business. I wont be going back to this place.

Cobblestones new location on Lakewood Boulevard is a nice improvement over the previous location. While the downtown location was a nice experience, and a fun downtown destination, the new location offers better service to customers, and is easily accessible near US-31 highway on/off ramp. There is more space with better lighting, a side room with a flight simulator setup, and a back room with high ceilings where customers can test out certain radio-controlled models.

Clean store with a decent amount of inventory, but prices on some items are higher than msrp. I paid about 10% more for items than I would have at most other hobby shops or from Horizon Hobby directly. If it wasnt for the gift certificate I had, I would have brought my business elsewhere. Staff doesnt come across as overly friendly either, and Ive been told by others that theyve been condescending to them.

Ive been haunting this shop on and off for over 30 years. I had an issue with a battery charger. Shop owner called me in the evening (long after hours) and was able to help me fix it quickly over the phone. This is why you buy from LHS (local hobby shop) and not off the Internet. Great advice and service, large inventory, great staff. I drive in passing other shops. Thanks Bob!
