I do not recommend Home Depot in Grand Haven for any significant project. I have been a Home Depot customer for 30 years. My lifetime investment with the company is in the many tens of thousands of dollars. Now that we are in Grand Haven, we went to the local store to purchase carpet for 3 rooms in our home. They ordered the carpet, indicating it would arrive in 7-10 days. It took nearly a month to get it installed (unfortunately, while we were out of town). Upon our return, we saw that there were many holes in the new carpet where the fibers were missing. The seams were installed very poorly. I could not believe the installers would leave it in such condition. I phoned the local store. The expediter was very apologetic and helpful. She requested I send pictures and ordered replacement carpet. It took another 3 weeks to schedule the second installation. We removed carpet the night before. The second delivery also had the same carpet product flaws. The local store manager would not bother to call me. My recourse was to spend hundreds of dollars more for different carpet of the same quality or a refund. I cancelled the order and took a refund. Now my house is bare wood sub-floor going into winter. I will need to find another carpet vendor. It is difficult to understand how they would treat a lifelong customer so shoddily. I cancelled my Home Depot charge account and they will NEVER get another dime from me.

There is never anyone who can tell me where anything is. Its always "Ill send bla bla over". Well bla bla never comes and Im left standing there waiting forever before trying to find someone else. I wouldnt have to ask at all if their website correctly stated what bay and aisle things were in but I check and then go and they arent there. Ive had multiple problems with this store. Some really nice people, unfortunately more often than not its just a problem. More recently a huge flooring issue where I paid for an order and no one ever called to set up an install. Instead someone called to set up a measure which had already been done. He tells me he will let them know so that an installer can now call. Never happens. Have to call them back again and play phone tag because theyre trying to have me speak to someone who cant be found which results in me speaking to the same 3 people over and over and keep being transferred back and forth, hung up on, etc. Had to call 3 times and the whole issue still hadnt been resolved. Currently waiting on a phone call back. Next time Ill try Lowes.

I recently purchased a large grill in the discount area, got a great deal and at the time of the purchase I was told I had until Monday to pick it up. I return on Monday to exchange the grill I had bought for another one of the same value. At which time I was told by a young lady named Jeanie under no uncertain terms the grill was to be out of there by that day, I agreed and again she was insistent the grill had to be picked up that day and once again I agreed. After the fourth time day of this young lady TELLING me I had to pick the grill that day, I informed her that I had actually heard her the first time. She then proceeded to question me about who had allowed me to leave the grill there in first place. It appears to me this young lady has forgot that it is the customer paying her wages and I dont think anyone excepts to be treated this way. I will be contacting the manager of the store as well as corporate so this does not happen to anyone that is going into the Grand Haven home depot spending their hard earned money and being treated with disrespect in the future.

I like home depot its just kinda sucks how there are only 2 people in the grand haven store I would trust with any question there the two older guys everybody seems to know who they are they are amazing am I am sure this store would probley catch fire and explode without them... I just hate how i get asked 90 times can i help you and I know this person does not know anything about electrical code or roof pitch plumbing etc so il say yea where cab I get some tapcons (concrete fastener) and they look at me like I am speaking Korean I like home depot but would never ask them a serious question about building because they just dont know what I am talking about but only the 2 older men seem to have a clue little tip if u cant help u shouldnt ask if u dont know what shingles are maybee mc Donald is a better fit then a building supply store they should make these people take a test to see what they really know.

I am doing a major remodel on a home and have been going to HD quite a bit for everything. Everyone has been giving me top notch help and service each and every time I visit the store. I have been going to Menards for over 12 years and only two people in the store ever knew my name. In less than one month I have over 20 HD employees saying "hello" to me by my name. I have never received this kind of awesome service any where before. It makes me feel like my business is valuable to each and every employee at this store. I also love that fact it makes me look like a rockstar when I go in there with my wife or family friends. Everyone thinks I either shop there too much or used to work there.

Very poor service experience in kitchen and bath remodeling area. We were in the store and worked with a representative who made an appointment for an in home consultation for kitchen cabinet refacing. We received a printed copy of the appointment that was scheduled. No one showed up! Phone call to the store was useless as all the installation staff was gone and the Home Depot rep said they had nothing to do with it, it was the contractor! No help at all. We will take our business elsewhere.

Very friendly and knowledgeable employees and is a well stocked store. Home Depot cannot help it if their supplier is out of stock for all you naysayers. Ive noticed so many times that the other Home Depots Ive gone to or had the store check for availability of the item in Muskegon, Holland, and Grand Rapids areas will also usually be out of stock at the same time! So how can you blame the Grand Haven store then? Some people do not think beyond their own little very limited mind!

Was scheduled for a carpeting installation today and it was canceled at the last minute. The install has been scheduled since May 27th, I called and confirmed the install yesterday, and got a call at 9:50 am this morning (end of the 2 hr window) saying the installer called in sick. All the other installers are too busy to cover. Rescheduled for July 28th now. That will be two months since I provided payment for the carpeting. Not a fan of their home services.

They rarely have had what we have needed, from plumbing or heating to wood pellets in the winter. They have been out of pellets for over a month now though they DO have pallets if you want to buy them by the ton...come on people, why not break open a pallet for those of us that dont want to travel to Holland or Muskegon? We DO travel now because they never have what we need or takes them forever to get it! Do NOT recommend this store!
