In terms of car audio, they will do a great job with the installation. However, if you have questions or are not fully educated about audio products, they seemed to be annoyed. The salesman I dealt with did not seem interested in offering different options or to make my selections better. He also seemed very stressed out both times I visited. I felt like they wanted me to leave as soon as possible. The salesman up front was sporadically answering phone calls and dealing with the shop techs, as well as other customers. I had a 5 channel amplifier installed. They installed the amplifier with the wrong size power wire gauge that was recommended in the owners manual. They put in 8 gauge while 4 gauge was recommended. They also did not tune the amplifier. However, its been 1 year and I havent had any problems. They do good quality grounds. They used Memphis Audio installation accessories which has good quality wiring. I would recommend this place if you are doing a sound system on a boat. They are certainly capable of doing car/truck installations, but they dont try to sell you things or try to ask you the right questions to make your system better.... whatever you are looking at on the shelf, youll buy and they wont make any other recommendations to improve your sound. Part of coming to a shop like this is getting professional advice to get the best system... which is where I thought they lacked. I guess do your homework before you come in. They carry top brands such as JL Audio, Memphis, Kenwood, and several others. I wish they carried better brands such as Hertz, Audison, Connection, CT Sounds, and more Rockford stuff. They dont seem to stock alot of stuff... I heard this alot: "we could get you the items in 2-3 days" They also install aftermarket lighting accessories such as LEDs, light bars, halogen lights, & speaker ring lighting. They definitely have the largest selection of marine rated speakers for boats and atvs. So bottom line, come here if you need a sound system on a boat. Maybe my experience was insubordinate, but I just wish I got better sales advice on improving my factory sound. I would have rather spent more money on they stuff I needed rather than a quick sale.

I ordered new Alpine Marine stereo equipment on 8/19/13. Dave, the owner, had the product in hand (he even went to check on one item) and said it would ship that day and Id have it on 8/22/13. It did not arrive on 8/22/13 and no tracking number was received although a tracking number was promised. I called the business on 8/26/13 and the person answering had no record of my order. My credit card was charged the entire amount on 8/22/13. I called several time on 8/26/13. Finally Dave, the owner, was there (they have never called me back) and stated he was sorry, he messed up and sent my order to someone on the east coast by mistake. He said he would next day air it back to him by UPS and he would next day air it to me and it would arrive on Wednesday, 8/28/13. I called him back to ask for a tracking number be sent to me and Dave stated he would do that immediately. No tracking number, product did not arrive on 8/28/13. I called and was told by Dave that it would not arrive until Thursday, 8/29/13. On Thursday night, I posted on Facebook a summary of my problems on the Soundwaves page. It was deleted by Soundwaves with a note saying that the unit was missing a faceplate and they responded with the following "Its hard to get discontinued product, but we try to help customers who have special needs, the product you are looking for has been discontinued all year we have some, need a face for the radio, tried to get it from the supplier, got wrong info, would you like to cancel the order, we have a commitment for a different supplier for next week." Obviously, the entire, "we shipped to the wrong guy" was a lie. They charged my Credit Card before they shipped or even had the product available to ship. This certainly looks like Consumer Fraud. Im requesting the Michigan State Attorney General investigate this business for Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices. Thank you very much. This business has all my credit card information.

I ordered a complete jl sound system for my boat 2 months ago!!! from SOUNDWAVES, i called several times to let them know that my order did not arrived, this call was 2 weeks after my order, my first call was short , they told me call another day!!!!! so i waited. my second call was a week later and i asked to speak to the mannager because nobody knew about that order.........but they did know how to run my credit card!!!!!! so finally they found my order and told me "we will send that right away" sooo i waited!!!! 2 more weeks.!!!!! then i called again and i realized that they never sent it!!!! then they told me again!!! "We will send that right away" ......ring any bells??? but finally they did send my order , but guess what!!!?? my order was incomplete!! then i called again, and the same old story we will send that right away!! i waited for one week and call them again... and they didnt send my order!!! and i havent received the rest of my order!!! also i dont know why, but is the third tim that i ask for a copy of the receipt and they say!!! i will fax that right away!!! come on!!!! really!!??? and they never do!!!

I recently brought my Mercury Mountaineer there for new rear door speakers. The extensive show room blew me away. Marine audio on one wall, subwoofers, speakers, and stereos on the others. There were a ton of options to listen to and select from, and that is how I came to my speaker decision. The install shop was clean, and employees were friendly. Jim was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our indecisiveness. We called on a Saturday and were able to drop off the vehicle that afternoon. Within only a few hours, our truck was done. I will be bringing my Jeep to them soon for a more extensive upgrade. What I appreciated the most, when we first walked in, Jim shook my hand, and when we left later on, he shook my hand again. Overall, an excellent experience and I highly recommend Soundwaves.

Great store. The salesmen were very honest and didnt try to sell me something I didnt need! Prices are very competitive and after shopping around I decided to let them install a new Kenwood radio in my beloved Grand Prix. They did a very nice job. Everything works perfectly, and I highly recommend them. It only took about an hour from the time I got there to the time I left with a new radio installed. Very happy with this place and will come again if I need anything else!

They do an excellent job. I had them rig out my Suburban with a nice package. I drove from Indiana to have the work done. They came highly recommended, and I am glad that I made the drive. They will take care of you, and give you the best for what meets your budget.
