DEGRADING CUSTOMER SERVICE-DONT PATRONIZE THEM! I along with tons of other business associates have been patronizing this craft store for years, and although they have a huge selection of items, their customer service is the WORST I have ever experienced in the past or present from any established business. The worst offender is DORIS, the oldest Owner/Mom of the store who needs to retire. Being elderly does not give you a license to be so abrasively rude especially to customers who obviously pay the stores bills, and have kept them in business for all of these years. DORIS is obviously passing her nasty attitude down to the younger generation "rude-staff in training", which if this continues will eventually put them out of business especially with the influx of internet craft stores with competitive pricing, and free shipping, and not to mention local Michaels Craft Stores that have alot of the same items for less in addition to being able to use their 40% off coupons that can be used every week. Fortunately, rumor has it that another huge selection craft store is coming to town which will cut out the monopoly that Munros has on the Metro area, and needless-to-say, I along with all of my business associates will gladly give our hard earned business dollars to them instead. In the meantime, as of today we will instead conveniently shop online through other established wholesalers who appreciate and show respect to their customers. Munros has DORIS to thank for this.

I have been going to this store for over 10 years, and have watched it grow from a dirty, dinky little store with hardly any selection, to a larger, dirtier store with not a whole lot of organization, but a bigger selection. I was in there on October 25, 2010. I needed only a couple of items and did not want to use a basket as they are FILTHY dirty. (I work at a hospital and it is flu season!) I was not carrying a purse not did I have on a jacket with pockets, just a T-shirt and pants. I was carrying some findings in my hand which I held out in front of me when a woman approached me and said "Sweetie, security is watching you." She then handed me a dirty glad ware container and directed me to take a basket from next to the door. In the moment I decided to forgive them their transgression, but the follow up customer service was horrible. They can all kiss my butt, because there are a TON of bead places that would rather have my business and be grateful for my money. You would think all those ladies there would know how to keep things clean. I wonder what their houses look like! Disgusting place, disgusting behavior. And by the way, my names not SWEETIE.

Munro Craft Supply is great. So yeah it is somewhat crowded and organization is not up to the standard of a chain retailer. But dang, they always have what I need. I spent 3 trips last sunday trying to find a list of supplies because I was in a hurry and Munros was closed (I went to Michaels, Joanns, and Blick Art Supply). I couldnt get anything on my list. Monday I went to Munros and got everything AT WAY CHEAPER PRICES. Too expensive? I got grommets and the applicator tool for $3. THREE DOLLARS. When I went up to the counter the woman helping me made sure my elastic would fit in the beads I bought because she didnt want me to waste my money if it did not work out-That is care and customer service. They are always extremely knowledgeable and willing to help you work out an issue you are having. What you get there is quality and expansive choice in product that you absolutely cannot find anywhere else. There are quirks to being an independent business but trust me-take your business here. It would be a shame to not have places like Munros.

Some people have noted that they have gotten less than stellar customer service, or that the employees were "crabby." I have sometimes felt that the order takers were a little aloof, but I can only attribute that to being extremely busy and harried. Anyway, I have been ordering from Munros for years, and the folks I have dealt with (though not overly chatty or friendly) have fulfilled my requirements perfectly: they have the best prices on polymer clay and a low minimum order to receive their 50% discount. They also dont require a resale/tax number, and its not an issue for me because I have one, but many people dont. Also, they always let me know immediately whats in stock in case I need to substitute something. I have no complaints. As a bonus, their website has been upgraded so you can order online (slight glitch: your charges for shipping come through separately from the merchandise - again, a very tiny inconvenience for such great prices.). I received my order 3 days from placing the order online. Im a happy customer.

Oy, what a miserable place to shop for beads. Ive been to other bead shops in metro Detroit, all staffed with friendly people who actually want your business. Go to them--this place is a pit of misery, from the dusty old products on some of the shelves, to the signage to the big ole ATTITUDE you get from the staff. Person below says everyone is "too sensitive"? No, its more that I dont want to give my business to a place that treats their customers so badly. This place is dirty, unorganized and needs an attitude adjustment. Go any day of the week at any time, the nastiness of the staff is the same. Munro Crafts--close down for a couple of weeks, clean and organize and send the staff to charm school. Build a separate area for checking out while youre at it. If you feel like being abused, by all means shop here.

I live in Canada and just received my first order from Munro Crafts. I was unable to find the supplies that I needed in my local craft store or from online Canadian companies but was hesitant to order from the US knowing the cost of shipping for heavier items. Munro Crafts not only called me regarding my order but went out of their way with shipping to save me lots of money. They have a huge selection of items. Their prices are great and the additional discounts on most products that are offered based on total spend are up to 50% off! Amazing! The products are as described. Part of my order was polymer clay and it was fresh. I cant say enough good things about this company and will buying all of my future supplies from this wonderful store!

Reading through these reviews, I have to guess that you ladies are too sensitive. Every time I go to Munro they are busy busy, so yes it takes a minute to get checked out or ask a question at the counter. There is no line because the whole counter is also a display case where people shop...I absolutely love this store. Its packed with things I cant find elsewhere except for online and their pricing is really reasonable. Dont go in with 20 minutes to find 10 things because its not going to happen, go in with at least an hour to devote to searching and you will find all sorts of cool little craft components you didnt know existed. I do about 3 large trips to Munro a year and love it - and Ive never had the staff be rude to me.
