About average selection and pricing compared to other local supermarkets. They offer a free Silver Savings Reward Club card as a promotion for weekly deals and give a gold coin (usable for bigger deals) for every $500 spent or won by chance while playing a game at checkout. Where they excel is in their Food Services dept. (which gets stars for their rotating selection of fresh, hot soups), in their Butcher Counter (with staff always willing to offer advice on preparation), and especially in their on-site Sushi Chef (friendly and always offering to make something fresh for you). Their freshly made sushi is so much better than the pre-packaged selection at other markets. Where they lose points is in their bakery (which is sadly ho hum, though their fresh Kaiser rolls are good) and in their lack of self checkout lanes up front. We have been going here for years. They update their market often. Everyone is friendly and helpful. This is our go-to general market.

Big y is different from all the other supermarkets because i think they must be good to their employees because every rep ive seen at this location seems to really like their job. Not three best location here. Its in a pretty rough part of Woo town. But they do have full time security officers trolling the parking lot. The building actually is kinda hidden from the main drag, youll have to keep your eyes open. Giant parking lot, easy access to and from rt.9, and a very clean place! I dont know why i dont shop here mouse often..

Over priced, gimmicky, get rid of cards and gimmicks and offer straight forward lower pricing.. Also never find store brand strawberry yogurt, never any in case, also never or rarely any spagettios with Franks on shelf, poor ordering. Flowers and plants outside of store are not well maintained and this first thing you see when you enter store. Having vast experience in grocery and coop stores, my overall sense is that staff (some) dont take pride in their jobs.

I LOVE THIS SUPERMARKET! Ive lived near most of the large supermarkets in Worcester at one time or another, and this Big Y is by far my favorite. The prices are good, the produce is great, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Its very rare that I have to take a run to a different supermarket to get something that they dont carry. Ive even had good luck finding the less common fresh herbs and dried spices. Two thumbs way up.

My experiences in this supermarket include: fending off crazy shoppers in line, dealing with rude and inept store personnel, watching cashiers overcharge me week after week after week, bagging my own groceries for free while paid baggers watch me with amusement, and throwing away more food that I can believe because it spoils so quickly after being brought home. Run away from this store!

My mother got an ice cream birthday cake for my sister and it melted on the car ride. They gave her brand new one without hesitation. We need more places like this Big Y. Places where the community is supported and the community will support them right back. Thank you for caring about the community you serve. You should all be proud of who you are.

The worst supermarket, bunch of scammers, they really do bogus sales that probably cost you the same amount that it would originally. Also the cheap actually discounted things most likely expire a few days after you buy them. Horrible! Also the produce section is always not stocked, dont go to them they are con-artists

Best regular supermarket in town. They have a separate organic section if that is your thing. Good produce all around (way better than price chopper anyway). Could be cleaner, overall feels kinda grungy. Also checkout is always super quick and staff are helpful!

Always like the choices and prices at Big Y. Especially so if you have a Silver Coin card. Theres a small annual fee for it but well worth it in savings (can you say "buy-1-get-2 free-Friendlys-ice-cream"?!).

well known for "Buy One Get One" and "Buy One Get Two" sales. worth keeping on an eye on the sales. However, other pricing can be a bit high. Store is well kept up, and staff is well trained.
