This store is different. The staff is friendly, helpful and can give you general advice on how to do various things around the house, from painting, patching plaster, or even changing out a sink faucet. One of the things I dislike most about chain stores is that they reduce consumer choice by having virtually the same merchandise at every store and very few unique items, or items tailored to the area, because they are too hard to sell. ACE is different, they have lots of unique items and oddsn ends that you would have had at your local independent hardware. Even if something you want isnt in stock and they have a way to order the item, theyll have it at the store for you within a few days. Great staff, great store.

On multiple occasions I went to this store and on both times they could either care less about the customer or had no idea how to do basic 101 service (not knowing how to look up an item, not knowing how to ring up a discounted item, and not know where items where located in the store). Recently I called them saying I needed to pick up an item and that I would be 2 minutes past their closing time and if it would be OK to wait for me. The young lady on the phone said ya youll be fine. When I arrived exactly 2 minutes past, go figure the store was closed. Looks like Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

Very convenient local hardware store. Instead of spending half my day wandering through the enormous aisles of a mega store, I can pick up all kinds of handy things in minutes and save myself a trip to Chelsea. The YETI coolers will call to you, but you must resist! That is too much cooler for what you really need for that price! Remember, you came here for a tiny Phillips head screwdriver, not the Rolls Royce of coolers. Be strong!
