Whet to FH to dropped off tiller that wouldnt start Should have asked for labor fees but didnt.Bib mistake. They called and left a message with my husband and said it would be 65. My husband called and told me but didnt ask them any ?s about why it was that much. When I went to pick it up the guy said take it to the front and pay for it. The only explanation I got was from reading the receipt. I ask the woman at the checkout but that was her only job to check you out. She didnt even answer any of my ?s. I walked around the back, Saw my tiller and asked the guy what they get for a labor fee. I had to ask him twice because I couldnt believe it when he said $65. I said thats my tiller. He got up to help me put it in my truck. I said" I need to try it"!! So he went to start it so I spoke up louder " I NEED TO TRY IT!!" It started right up and I was thrilled to see the tiller didnt need to run in choke. So I paid $51 for labor and $14 for parts. A lesson learned, always ask for labor fees and shop around. The other people were right customer service is awful but for $65 I guess anything goes. I gave 2 stars because it is local and they fixed it in a couple hours.

Well, this place has been around for a long time and is probably the best place in the area if you need parts to repair anything under the sun or need repairs done on any kind of yard equipment. They also have the full run of standard hardware store items, but its the parts and service that make Fairhaven Hardware the place to go, instead of one of those major chain stores. These guys understand what youre trying to accomplish and can help you; the others will point at stuff on the shelf for you. BIG DIFFERENCE. Besides, wouldnt you rather support local merchants anyway? If you dont support them, they tend to retire to Florida, taking all of their useful service and knowledge with them. Then its too late. Think about it.

Worst customer service. Terrible service, called to check availability of a snow blower belt. I already had the P/N. I called the main #, a very rude lady answered and told me to hold on - in condescending tone. The guy in parts answered the phone "YEAH!" I asked him if they had the part in stock, gave him the P/N I received an immediate NO and he hung up. I know for a fact that they did have the part, my neighbor went there an hour later and purchased one for himself. I decided I will no longer deal with this place. I have been going there for years, and the service keeps getting worse. Save yourself some aggravation and go elsewhere. Maybe Bennys or Sears Hardware - Both have 1000% better customer service

I seldom write reviews --- but this place deserves one! On two occasions my Huski lawn tractor has been in need of repair beyond my ability. They came to the house picked it up on time and it was repaired and back in my garage in no time flat! On my most recent adventure into lawn tractor repair -- they saved the day. Picked the tractor up at 10 AM and it was ready to be returned at 2PM that afternoon! The work is done well and their charges are more than fair. I only wish my BMW service/dealer was as efficient!

Weve shopped at this place for years. Ive always found the staff to be helpful and friendly, including when I needed lubricating oil for an unusual tool (a die filer). Once, I brought in an old tool that I bought used and said I was looking for an equivalent, new tool -- the staff person told me my old tool was fine, no need to buy a new one. The selection, particularly of marine-related stuff, is huge.

I also agree that Fairhaven True Value is the worst. I only go in if its a last resort. Last time while I was there I needed a key made also. The guy was just standing there doing nothing and it was like I was asking him to sacrifice his first born! I dont think I have ever met a friendly face in their and I have lived in Fairhaven for 32 years!

Lady that works there is the rudest person alive. Avoid this place like the plague. Rockys hardware is right up the road and they are actually polite. I dont even know how the rude lady there still has a job.

Rude people in the mower repair area. I used to do a lot of business there. I absolutely will be going elsewhere until they get some good young hard working individuals in there.. #pissed
