I purchased a car from Autobahn a few months ago. The salesman was pretty good and did not use any of the normal sales techniques that Ive experienced in the past, no pressure at all. If there was any rating option for sales I would rate it as 5 star. The rest of the experience was very poor. Basically these guys buy cars from auctions (which is ok), then have the auto repair shop at the nearby Irving gas station fix any problems. So, if the car did not need any major work then you get lucky, otherwise you will get a car that was barely "fixed" by the guys at the gas station. If you do not believe this, just stop by at this gas station shop and take a look at the late model high end cars they are working on. When was the last time you saw a gas station repair shop work on late model Audis, BMWs, Mercedes? ..and it gets better, the same shop is later used for state inspection of Autobahn cars - in my case they put the sticker on the car without ever checking anything and several serious problems were later discovered that would have gotten the car rejected at any other inspection station. If you find any problems with the car afterwards and contact these guys they will simply ignore your phone calls and emails. I also made the mistake of financing thru Autobahn, the finance manger turned out to be a rude, disrespectful and very unprofessionally fellow. So far I have spent $3000 on the car I purchased there and it is still not fixed. I am talking about a high end car that has low miles and is still under factory warranty, the problem is that these issues are not covered by warranty since there is obvious evidence that the car was damaged at some point and then very poorly fixed. The authorized manufacturers dealer I took the car to even found pieces of old parts removed from the car that were left there by the careless person who worked on the car. So, because of this I had to pay out of pocket not only for the diagnostic time but also for repairs of the car as well. Some of these issues with the car would not be found by any normal pre-sales inspection since youd have to remove covers/panels to see them. So, if you must buy at car here (Im not stopping you, they do have some good deals), have it inspected by an authorized manufacturers dealership and then take it somewhere else for state inspection even if you have to pay for the inspection out of pocket. Take a general look at panels/covers and look for signs of prior removal, normally you can tell by looking at screws/bolts. Do not use their financing, even if they only seem to act as the middle man trying to help you out, just go to a credit union yourself. Lastly, do not buy any extended warranty from them, you will get an overpriced warranty from a no name company. You can always buy the warranty later yourself as long as the car is under factory warranty, if they tell you otherwise they are lying.

Ok, make sure you have a cup of coffee while reading this ok? Here it goes… I moved to the US last year and got a Mustang (2000) and I wasn’t smart enough to get it checked by a mechanic but went with it and spent more than twice the price I bought it for to fix it.. when I had to replace it’s ABS for the second time in less than a year (and the second mechanic too) I just wanted to bid good bye to the GT and go for another car.. Corolla, Accord, Lancer were the cars in my mind.. I test drove the Subaru Brz, Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer, Outlander (sport), Accord, Crosstour, VW, Corolla…. Not gonna say anything against these cars but the sales people? They wanted me to buy what THEY wanted to SELL instead of selling me something that I wanted to BUY!! A good friend of mine pointed at autobahn when we were driving by and said “That’s where you wanna go!” and I did the very next day.. Again, I was only looking around, no intention to buy a car yet coz selling my Mustang for a good price was a challenge.. PAUL – a very nice sales guy! He asked me all the right questions.. • Do you know what you are looking for? – “No” • Looking for a sedan or an SUV? – “Don’t know” but I had the wrong answers :) :( I asked if I could drive the Maxima.. “Sure!! Was his response”.. Then I asked to drive the GX37 “Sure!!”.. BMW 5 “Sure!!”.. C300? “Sure!!” – Yes, I drove all of them and was a bit afraid he would get frustrated with me and kinda like d the c300.. Just when I was going to say “I’ll sleep over it and get back to you!” He introduced me to the GLK 350 and was as good as new.. I was really shocked for the amount of customer supportive energy the guy had in him.. Yes, he did want to make a sale but made me get the feeling that he was ready to show me 50 more cars to make sure I get the right one.. Made up my mind even before I test drove the GLK that I was going to buy.. I called up my friend to come over and he still doesn’t believe that I bought the GLK 350 the same day! (I don get convinced that easy…) He actually gave me a pretty good price for my Mustang too.. It did not end there, Usually the after sales service sucks in most of the sales.. Not here!! The insurance papers were sent to my provider, registration, inspection.. I wonder if you’d get the same treatment if you bought a brand new one from the dealer! Yes, definitely a place to get a car with no second thoughts! No worrying about being cheated etc.. Thanks Paul! Mr. Sure!!

My review will be in two parts - first Autobahn USA and then my specific salesperson - "Kyle - Fowler". I have been searching for a car for the last 2 months and have done a lot of research on the vehicles as well as spending a lot of time online looking at the market car prices. I went to multiple dealerships and did a number of test drives prior to committing to a car. In all the other dealerships, the salesperson was the stereotypical "car salesman". Chatty and pushy. I am delighted that I did not purchase a car from any of those places prematurely. When I moved up to MA I came across Autobahn USA. Their prices seemed extremely competitive. Other reviewers have even commented that the prices were so good they wondered what might be wrong with the cars! It turns out the answer (at least so far!) is nothing! As was explained to me, Autobahn buy the cars at auction and simply believe in "low-margin, high volume" business. Consequently, they price their cars aggressively but end up selling more of them. The dealership building is not much to look at but it doesnt need to be and is another reflection of the lean style approach. They are in fact, however, moving to a larger centralized location outside of Boston to better accommodate their customers. In addition to the great pricing, the other excellent asset of Autobahn USA is its salesman Kyle. He was extremely helpful and patient throughout the process. From the very beginning I got the feeling that he was there to help me find the right car for me, rather than make a quick sale. Amazingly, I exchanged 43 emails with him during the process of buying a car! Despite my continuous questions he was always courteous and helpful, yet never pushy. When he established what car I was looking for he really kept an eye out specifically for me and let me know when one became available. He provided an excellent personalized service that I have never encountered before in the business. When he found the car for me he went out of his way to make the experience as smooth as possible. The car had a couple of minor dents and scrapes and he took care of having them fixed prior to giving me the car. When I went to pick it up he made sure everything was in order prior to me leaving Autobahn. Overall, Kyle is a excellent asset in a great organization. I highly recommend you getting a car from Autobahn USA. Ask for Kyle and you will not regret it.
