This locally, family owned bike shop is one of the best by far! The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to answer your questions and to make sure you understand all that you need. They do their best not to oversell you, but to connect you with the appropriate equipment. If they do not have exactly what you need, they try to find it for you. My family and I all shop here and do most of our friends. Their service department is wonderful. Whether it be a pre-season tune-up, changing a flat, installing new equipment, or fixing a broken bike, these guys are the best! A big box store may claim to save you a few dollars, but Family Bike is always there for you when you buy your bike and as long as you have your bike. It is very difficult to find this kind of customer service anywhere. PS. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. I am not a family member.

I brought a bicycle wheel to them to have a new hub laced into it only after I was assured it would only take "two or three" days. After six days I was told that it wouldnt be done for at least another two weeks so I decided to go get the wheel and do the job myself. When I returned to get the wheel the owner happened to be there so I complained directly to him. I was distressed when he told me that his shop has been way behind on service all summer and I was only the third person who had complained so "it really didnt matter" to the business. Ill never go back for even the smallest repair because I think that attitude is highly unprofessional.

Do NOT bring any old school bmx bikes of value to them under any circumstances. They will take at least three times as long to install parts then from what they quote. They could careless about your old bmx. Parts will get installed wrong if at all. They took care of me when I dropped a few grand on a Mountain bike, treaded me and my property completely different when I brought my bmx in. Clearly theyre in it for the money and not for the love of bicycles and biking.

Great customer service, honest and knowledgeable staff. Its the only place I take my specialized bike. Their prices on parts are fair, and they will also allow you to bring your own parts and charge for labor. Cant recommend these guys enough....

These people know their stuff. I purchased a bike from a closer shop (I live in Chicopee) and immediately had a problem with it. Took it to Family Bike and they found the wheel assembly wasnt properly installed. Super service.
